I wanted to give this game another chance since it had a lot of updates etc.

And i never thought it will be working worse than on day one. Somehow Turn10 managed to kill optimization even more. I have mediocre PC, but it worked fine on day one (medium settings 60 fps on 1080p it wasn't a problem) but now... with the same settings it sometimes work perfectly fine 60 fps etc, and then after starting the same race with the same car I have 25-30 fps and random jumps to 60 fps... And I can't connect to Forza servers every second game restart... Sometimes it works sometimes not. I am fighting with this crap for 1-2 days and starting to get enough of it. Are there any solutions for PC players for this performance bug?
I'm sorry to hear that, but as I have learned while playing on PC, performance (or lack thereof) issues can also be on our side: components, drivers, updates of this and that and so on. I've never experienced something like you describe, even when I was playing with an "unsupported" CPU.

Nice to have a Featured Multiplayer race with proper strategy for once.

After 2 days of struggles i managed to resolve this issues.

It seems like 3 things are a factor
1. V-sync - it is bugged in Forza. Cap framerate without it
2. Automatic graphic settings. Set everything game is letting you manually. This automatic graphic scaling is one of the main reasons games framerate flows so hard
3. Disable any out of the game overlays. Nvidia Geforce Expirience, Steam overlay, epic whatever, even xbox controllers official overlay sometimes causes it but not all the tome.

With all this done it started to work as it should be.

I'm on Xbox series x and I stay away for a long time and then come back and this latest update had me excited but I cannot find a camera view that makes me comfortable.

At first I thought it was because I'm used to the PSVR 2 playing GT7. But, the cameras are so customizable on PC2 that I can always get comfortable.

Because camera is so subjective it's hard to explain but I feel like I can't see the full track, almost like I'm too low to the ground

Hello, I don't like how the solid color of the body paint on the street cars looks in the game..,
¿Is there any way in the free game mode to compete only against competition cars? I only want to play against racing cars that have stickers on the body. As an example of a competition car I refer to the "Porsche #92 porsche gt team 911 rsr".

Thanks

I think quick free play mode automatically gives all cars fan-made liveries (so it's a lottery how many will be racing ones.) Advanced Free play is better as you get more options, like longer races etc. *In your case, if you want the other AI GT cars to keep their original ingame liveries you can switch (fan-made) ai liveries on and off in the settings/display menu. You must do this before you enter free play mode. *Advanced free play should automatically select the same division for the AI as your selected car. (But there are options where you can change this, so you could have a field of only Porsches or European cars for example)

Incredible how much sharper games look in motion without TAA. In the pic with TAA on I'm going slightly slower, and I'm closer to the bridge, yet the word "Chevrolet" is so much blurrier. Likewise I know the chainlink details are lost after a certain distance in both versions, but notice how the black lines that connect the fence posts stay visible and sharp without TAA.

You don't necessarily have time to scrutinise these finer details when you're speeding past them, but motion clarity is unconsciously a huge thing, especially when it comes to things like picking out braking markers and landmarks as they approach.

Compared to launch the game does look way better and I'm digging it. Something to note is that they can still improve the graphics even more. A few areas I can see is realistic shadows from cars being casted on the ground I notice sometimes that's inconsistent but can be improved, some textures still can be jaggy especially trackside or when viewing a car in forza vista. A few tracks the skies appear low resolution and so does some of the signage. Now some of this could be because im on a 1080p TV still and not like a 1440 or 4k but these are things that still stick out to me graphics wise. If they touch up on colors and AA even more that wouldn't hurt either but game looks great.

1. V-sync - it is bugged in Forza
Yes, there's something very wrong with how the game handles sync and framerate capping on PC. I think they must have written it solely for Xbox to start with, and the PC version is an afterthought, which seems incredibly strange given the claims of it being built from the ground up, as you'd think they'd do it the other way round, and see the Xbox version as a specialisation of the more general PC version.

My workaround is to change my monitor refresh rate to what I want to play at, I tend to use 144hz. I also find I have to have gsync on, the game stutters horribly at fixed refresh rate. I set the game to unlocked (vsync), and at 144hz monitor refresh rate and gsync on, it mostly runs okay. FM is the only game I have to mess about like this for - FH4/5 and every other game in existence all run absolutely fine with no messing about needed.

The picture he posted without TAA looks just like that. No ghosting at all so it seems he has found a way to disable it in the ini files
I would not trade clarity in the signage for all the jaggies that are apparent elsewhere. Just bump the scale resolution or track detail to where your GPU combo can handle it for a cleaner image.

Wait how do you turn off taa
Only on PC, and I believe it's coming as an official option next month, but:

Go to media\base\gametunablesettings, open userconfigoptions.xml and remove the comments (the <!-- and -->) disabling the option:

Strong disagree because TAA barely gets rid of jaggies anyway. It's not just the clarity of the signage like I said, it's a massive increase in motion clarity overall which is vital for racing games - and I'm not keen on the notion that you need to bump up your res, something those on lower end hardware can't necessarily do, just to get close to the image clarity we had in 2005.

For anyone curious, this is an absolutely remarkable improvement. Carries on into photo mode too.

I think this is practically GT7 tier. It's so much cleaner.

Is there a new bug on the SX that makes liveries or part of them matt? I was going through McLaren F1 GTR liveries based on real ones and noticed so many were matt or had matt sections (but not in their thumbnails) They can't all be down to design choice, surely.

I just tried your change to disable TAA, and it looks absolutely horrific with it off, to me. Even bumping resolution scale up to 200% didn't stop it from looking utterly horrendous. Turning it on does 100% reduce jaggies. It looks massively better IMO with TAA on, and resolution scale at 150%, than TAA off and resolution scale at 200%. At 1440p I can run 144fps with TAA on and resolution scale 150% and my GPU is only 75% utilised, so that's fine and it looks good to me.

That's a new bug, yes. If I remember correctly they mentioned in the latest patchnotes or blogpost, on Forza.net, that they're working on solving this.

I encountered this when I equipped The Mercedes 190E Evo with an old DTM livery. This livery was glossy before update 8, after that it suddenly turned matte.

@PJTierney I usually put the car that I'm currently using in the primary car bay. For the moment I'm racing in the open A-class tour with the Corvette ZR1

This livery is almost the same as what the Corvette '96 had in Gran Turismo 1, which made it a must-have for me!

Btw, I saw that Forza Horizon 5 got the GR Yaris added in the latest update. It has two widebody kits as well. I really hope we get that car soon in FM as well!

Hi,players in Forza Motorsport can adjust the field-of-view across all first-person and third-person chase cameras in Forza Motorsport with values ranging from 25 to 65 degrees.

Bumper Camera FOV.
Hood Camera FOV.
Cockpit Camera FOV.
Driver Camera FOV.
Chase Near Camera FOV.
Chase Far Camera FOV.

Personally, I am not comfortable with any of the cameras in the game. And I hate the "fish-eye" effect where when you pass a car it looks elongated.. ¿ What is your custom FOV setting with conventional 16:9 aspect ratio ?

At the end of the day it's all personal preference. I'm not a big fan of TAA becu8of how soft it makes the image , along with ghosting. DLSS is the only one I can stand. TAA was a mistake for fast paced games where clarity is most important. Also the series S should definitely not use TAA, it looks so incredibly blurry at 1080p and lower!

Maybe it looks different based on other settings? With TAA turned off on my system it looks just unbelievably awful, I cannot imagine how anyone could play the game like that. It makes 1440p look like 360p or something.

Funny, because TAA to me makes the game look 360p. The clarity increase with it off is unbelievable.

Being able to actually see what's down the road shouldn't be a luxury in modern gaming, but unfortunately with TAA, it is.
