Interesting thing here, you can make a rough estimate at how many players each game has based on the Achievement score.

If you take Forza Motorsport's number and divide it by 1000, then that's a minimum of 275,865 players. This assumes every single player gets 100% completion, which we know is not true.

If you assume each player only gets about 250 gamerscore (seems reasonable, if you average out the top players vs the bottom players) then the game has at least 1.1 million players.

This is obviously not an exact science (we don't know the average gamerscore per player, plus it excludes 2023 data), but helps frame discussions I reckon.

T10 looking for a new Art Director for FM

Very interesting in terms of timing, I mean we have already surpassed a year into this game. We can obviously see that FM is behind the curve when it comes to graphics, vinyls, car details etc. especially when compared to GT7. They have made progress in the visual department since launch but I guess who they had wasn't cutting it, perhaps we could get a big visual overhaul later on in the games life cycle once they get a quality person sorted out.

Maybe next time don't post-process the trailer to death and create false expectations?

We don’t know why this position has opened up. It’s senior enough to be a permanent spot, so none of this 18-6 stuff.

Who was the previous art director? Did they get promoted, move to another studio, retire etc.?

I’ve worked with art directors on various games, they’re generally good people and the role is about much more than “how the game looks”. You can see this with the job spec in that tweet, there’s lots of duties beyond the creative implementation and vision.

Came here to say something similar when I saw the scores and total player community scores having seen numbers mentioned a few posts ago.

Feel like I'm barely playing it but in the top 10% for FM and ACC, kids on Lego. Aiming to be all ACC and WRC until Evo appears...

Edit: I also just saw this:

Nvidia's drivers (566.36) are now available for download and install. We'll see how my rig performs, but realistically I may have to use DLSS, which I've avoided for now, and there is no mention of frame generation in the notes.

Now there is a clear divide (o chasm) between PC and console versions and the gap may only be closed by a future Xbox console, if any.

Edit: Well, I tried to reproduce one of the images that showcases RTGI (as close as I could). Below is the original promotional photo in Hakone at noon and a clear sky.

Here is mine and I'm sorry if it looks overexposed. It didn't look like that in photo mode and the contrast/colors are off, but then again, the game's photo mode is butt. I use full RT reflections with RTAO and high RT quality, in combination some Nvidia filters that you can check in a thread that I made.

It's just a photo, but clearly the reflections are sharper with less noise and blurriness, and color grading may be more accurate (it still tends to warm/realistic).

Finally RTGI, GT7 pro version has some competition now! Not even PD could enable RTGI with the more powerful pro. It'll take a beast of a rig but that's what we want, keep pushing the envelope
Until GT dares to enter the PC arena, GT is no competition for Forza Motorsport (on PC at least) or anyone else there. And if they do, it will be until the next round of console hardware in 3 years' time, maybe. By that time FM, which is not a numbered game or will ever be, will have evolved with whatever technologies become available over time. GT7 maxed out with the Pro, but FM has all the room to keep improving, first on PC and then in whatever the next Xbox is.

Yea, I feel PD has more talented artists but sticking to cross gen hurt them for GT7 which to me looks like a spruced up GT Sport. FM made the right decision in ditching last gen machines and incorporated great tech like RTAO and RT reflections (although basic). RTGI is a bigger deal than both of those though, it affects so much.

Indeed. Nvidia's cards are stronger now with RT than AMD's tech and the consoles rely on that now and likely in the future. Now the next AMD cards about to launch will supposedly have stronger RT performance, but the newer consoles will have to wait for at least one more cycle after that. That's why the PS5 Pro, while stronger than the base PS5, is capped and in no way a preview of a PS6.

My new pc build is ready, only missing the GPU (RTX5000). Also have the PS5 pro so graphics wise im blessed and ready for some eye melting graphics. Im also soo happy that its on for gameplay and not only for the garage and photomode like it was announced at launch.
