Forza vs GT6 Trailer Comparison

Question: Why are these games being compared if they are both on different generations of consoles? Forza is obviously prettier than Gran Turismo 6. Gran Turismo 6 obviously emphasizes more on physics than graphics. I don't understand the need for an argument thread.

Actually GT emphasizes on graphics just as much. Because one brand decided to take an easier route does not mean they should not be compared. PD went the route that would obviously get them more money.

FM is obviously working on physics as well, or dd you skip out on reading? they also now have the opportunity to make the visuals stunning, as well

I said 'emphasizes'. Of course I know that Forza also does great things with physics, and of course I know that GT6 also does cool things with graphics; but let's be honest, one does something better than the other. GT6 has lot's more graphical distortions than what we've seen on Forza 5, but also has better physics.

Oh you've played both fm5 and GT6. Wish I had a time machine to. To claim one game does something better then the other when neither game is out is ridiculous. Try to be more biased next time.

I'm not being biased at all. I'm basing my statements on what we know and have seen, as I've already said. I own GT5 and Forza 4; love them equally. Try reading what I even say before you respond.

Your being totally biased because what we know is nothing at this point. As you have not played either full game at all.

It'd be nice to know what exactly I'm being biased about.

"We know nothing"?

Physics:
-FM5 - Updated (with gameplay showing it)
-GT6 - Overhauled (with gameplay and demo)

Graphics:
-FM5 - Overhauled with new engine and console
-GT6 - Tweaked; maximizes use of console

Please don't make me get links, because if you do, then we know the real biased one here.

Uh, about FM5's physics:

Dan was mentioning today that they're running a hybrid of old and new physics in this demo. It sounds like it has the potential to change quite a bit.
The physics wasn't anywhere near the final stages as they haven't even implemented all of the Calspan data; it was working with an amalgamation of some of the new data and the old data from FM4. The wheel probably didn't help the matter as that's not in it's final stages either. Sounds like a puzzling decision now that you've described it.

So yeah, wait until you get your hands on BOTH games in their final forms before saying GT6 has the better physics.

Why is nobody understanding that I used the word EMPHASIZES? By EMPHASIZE I mean that Gran Turismo is EMPHASIZING more on physics. Sure, Forza will get a new physics engine from Calspan, which will no doubt be great. I love Forza; I own all of them! We have, however, gotten used to how well Turn 10 does in the physics department; by the look of the Gran Turismo 6 GT Academy demo (powered by the GT6 engine) PD is emphasizing physics more than they have for the past few games. I'm just trying to point out what each game seems to do better than the other. That's not being biased; if I was being biased I would be saying "________ physics suck; ________'s are better."

Your context was all wrong that is why even trying to iterate over and over wont help. You would be better off rephrasing and creating the post again. However, from what you have said, it reads as if you think GT6 operates better but I do give you the benefit of using the past. Though it's obvious that the physics will be far different and it is probably because of the new generation system (for FM5).

The problem is that none of this actually means anything.

No one else was talking about how they shouldn't be compared. You were the one that started that argument, and you've justified it since basically by saying that the word "emphasize" somehow means you can judge something you haven't played.

Why are we even comparing trailers now that a demo for GT:A has been released and we've at least seen gameplay of FM5? If we're going to make uneducated guesses, let's at least do it against current information.

What I've been wondering is why include headlight toggle if there is no night racing.

I think it's in the game to, in an infinitesimally small way, placate the already battered and disgruntled fans of the series. It's a placeholder for the bigger goals (weather, TOD, etc.) toward which T10 might (read: ought to) be working. I think it's their way of saying, "We're working on these WELL-EXECUTED, 60 FPS motorsports staples, although they aren't complete yet. While we're finishing up, we've included working headlights as a means of penance."

Plus, that means we can play with all those pop-up headlights.

To be honest, I can't remember. I could be just thinking about something all wrong.

I believe Dan said all cars have fully modeled and functioning headlamps in an interview at E3. Even though night racing won't be included, in all honesty, it would still be nice to turn on headlights and illuminate the dash. Because sometimes it is almost impossible to see the dials in some situations.

This! Although, from the gameplay videos I've seen so far, the new lighting engine makes them much easier to see.

No one should compare forza and GT. there different in there own way. The only reason I am buying GT and not forza is because I'm not buying an Xbox one. Even forza can't get me to buy a trash tv box

Luckypig no one will buy an Xbox one oh and last time I commented on forza I was warned for trolling and was given 29 points out of 30 so thank you very much whoever reported me.

Also, the forza trailer is dramtised and doesn't have much substance IMO compared to the gt6 trailers and doesn't anyone else think its wiered gt6 comes out after forza 5??????
