Forza

Such things should not be know directly when you mod a car, the modder should have a good idea what the effects are, and the modder should try the car to see how it is now. And such things are rather relative to the driver.

And to what scale is it? How good does the car have to be able to break to get one point?

And acceleration 1 to 10 points? Just say the 0-100 km/h

Rarity? Who cares how original the modding is?

Speed from 1-10? Again on what scale???? Oh why oh why
This is a deal that is like GT3's Analyze option. It supposedly rates you on how well you went through those stages.

1-you need to improve greatly
10-You're perfect. Keep it that way.

But how can a body kit improve analyze option before you even played the upgeaded car? They were talking how some body kits gave them extra points, because a player wont always be able to use the upgrades to their full potential

Yeah, there's the possibility to toggle the info with the "Y" button from the arcade-like 1-10 scale to the technical info...

Yep..

B/c the body kits in the game make a difference. ON the demo, I raced a Stock NSX, then a NSX with just Exterior mods.

You can tell a difference.

the holliday oxm comes with a playable forza demo, anyone got it yet?

Yes.

Comes with 12 cars (actually 16 if you count the modable cars.)
4 Sports Cars
4 High Performance
3 Le Mans Racers (And Daytona one)

Hell no..now looks like Xbox wants do to racing sims game than arcade freaks style for......When i watch the trailer/demo i laughing. So much for the graphical power of Xbox.i can barely noticed the physics of the cars is terrible. So they claim racing simulation?I think not.Imagine if GT4 is using the same graphical power of Xbox..right now GT4 using the PS2 graphics & have already beat them..

Polyphony has a knack for pushing the system to it's maximum. I mean, GT3 is three years old, and it's still one of the best-looking games on the PS2. If Forza can only push itself to GT3's graphical level, then GT4 is going to blow it out of the water, regardless of how realistic Forza's physics are. And so far, that seems like that's all Forza's going to be.. the Xbox version of GT3.

Oh yes, because it offers NOTHING else than GT3. Online mode doesn't count for anything. Better AI dont matter, rite? Of course, the fact that ign said the physics were spot on with GT's doesn't matter. To say forza is the xbox version of GT3 is the dumbest reply i've ever heard, the demo is light years ahead of GT3. To compare it with GT4 would make more sense, but in the end it's just plain GOOD for all racing fans, because now that i traded in my PS2 I can still enjoy a great racer for the xbox.

You have to excuse all the fanboys here... Anyone (even fanboys) have to admit Forza has allot going, it features things that GT4 doesn't offer... Some of you are just insecure, that's it...

I love how the only ammo the fanboys have is graphics :D SO FUNNY!

If Forza can only push itself to GT3's graphical level, then GT4 is going to blow it out of the water, regardless of how realistic Forza's physics are.

BW AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA, so let me get this right, no matter how well it plays, and no matter how realistic it feels, GT is better because of the graphics...mw ahahhaahaha.
Also like how they say that Enthusia is GT4's only rival in realism, odd how it's on the ps2...hmmm odd.... :dunce:

Im sure Forza will at least be online. I dont care what comes out GT4 or Forza. I just want to play. I own both systems so ill probably get both games.

Kev and Tripleplay, you guy's humor me. As much as you talk about other people being fanboy's on this website, you two are just as bad yet you try to hide that fact behind eachothers arguements.

Forza will be a decent racing game, I agree. However, based on everything I've seen, what it has to offer just is not appealing.

Some how, floating cars (because the physics are a bit quirky on collision, we've all seen this) and the AI that is "supposed" to get better, yet every video the AI is just as simple at GT's. Not to mention the damage...which is just prescripted collision data, IMO it's nothing more than eye candy.

Although I do own an xbox, I will not purchase Forza, not because I don't like it, not because it's on xbox, because I do not believe it has more to offer to me than GT4. To me driving the car is more important than damage, online mode, or reverse lights are. I would rather play a game that has many many more cars, lots of tracks, and a lot of variety, Forza just offers what halo offers...replayability only though online play, and that's all I see....nothing else in that package really appeals to me, it's just eyecandy and "bragging rights"...and they were done poorly at that.

tha_con, if forza is the halo 2 of racing games, then Gt4 really doesn't stand a chance :D

I love how you some how make out that the rubber banding off the walls as seen in GT is some how better then stuff get smashed, comedy. If anything the collision physics are better, as the cars don't have the comical tip limit, the real driving sim...unless you go round a corner to fast...
the damage is forza is optional, don't like it, turn it off. I'll leave it on.

From what I've seen and heard about forza, it should give Gt a run for it's money, which imo is a very good thing. Your opinions are simply based on the fact that it's not GT so you don't like it.

Didn't say it was better, however I don't like the fact that 50mph and 200 mph offer the same damage.

And Halo 2 is overrated as an FPS, and I'm not going to get into an arguement about that, there are many better FPS out there but get less attention because they are PC games. HL2 is better than Halo 2 for example.

Anyway, I'm not going to get into an arguement with you Kev, because you are just a big a fanboy of Forza as I could be considered for GT4. The difference is I prefer something that is tangible and shows proof rather than a developers word on a feature.

Either way, it's a step in the right direction.

BS. Halo 2 is fricking brilliant, don't even argue. There are many better FPS games eh? Get naming them, because I only see 1...and that's half life 2. BTW I've played just about every fps game out there in pc land.

Anyway, I'm not going to get into an arguement with you Kev, because you are just a big a fanboy of Forza as I could be considered for GT4. The difference is I prefer something that is tangible and shows proof rather than a developers word on a feature.

Sigh, I'm a fanboy for neither, I just like racing games, and I say what I see. You accuse me of riding hype, but you seem guilty of that your self, saying Gt4 is gonna be better "because", oh and not to mention juding forza on low quality vids, screenies etc. I on the other hand will give both games a chance.

Low quality vids and screens alike, that does not effect a floating car. Nor does a lot quality vid dramatically alter the performance of the AI.

and yes, halo 2 is overrated. Multiplayer is the games only strong point, and even then it's nothing we haven't seen before...it's all been here for ages, and makes use of nothing new...brilliant? maybe because it's an online FPS on xbox...that's about it...

anyway...no more arguing...:)

The car in the vid wasn't floating, it was just because of the lack of decent shadowing, that it looked dodgy. In other videos, cars look fine.

Please explain to me how halo 2 is over rated. It plays like a dream, has FIRST class AI, has a decent story mode thats enjoyable, actually has plot and characters, interesting weapons (that are SO WELL BALANCED), STUNNING use of sound, beautiful graphics (the design in it is just GENIUS), co op play, the best online mode of any console game, loads of multi player modes etc etc etc.

So explain to me, how a game thats so damn well made and playable is over rated :P I mean don't like it, but don't talk crap about it, there are alot of halo fans out there, and I bet you MOST of them are also PC FPS gamers. I could say that GT4 is over rated because it offers nothing new when it comes out, but that would be stupid :P

NOW the argument is over, that is if you can resist posting...

Thanks for the info, I'll try and pick it up today. Can't wait to try Forza out.

P.S: Halo 2 is definitely cool, but I can't help but think that I'd be happier if a Crimson Skies game had the same multiplayer modes.

What exact magazine is it? I just called EB and they need a more spicific month and magazine title to find it faster.

OXM = Official Xbox Magazine? Month January 2005.

The Jan issue of the UK OXM has a video preview of Forza but no mention of a playable demo. 👎

Ok I just called again and they said that mag with the Forza demo "could" be out next week. 👍

Still waiting?

That stinks.
Ah well, I have so missed some good things since my last visit.
First of, WHO, WHO says that all RACING SIMS, have to be realistic? Sure it helps, but WHO says? Who is the GOD that says this and that about it?
NO ONE!

There are racers out there who like graphics that are just right for them. Racer friendly graphics. I mean jeez! Its a game, and games are supposed to let us do and see things we can't here in real life. Forza's graphics play into that category, and as far as I'm concerned, Forza's look better than Halo's. So far it and Halo2 look like games that push the Xbox's power to the max.

So sure. This is where the PS2 proves it is better in this area. No one, though, should have the right to say, who has the better graphics, b/c last time, I checked, it was the GAME with the graphics, NOT the damn console.

Xbox fanboys can't get that through their thick heads. They always say Xbox has better ones, but when they look at a game on the PS2 for example GT4, they say "Oh that's game dumb PS2 fanboy."

I am actually sick of hearing that a console has the better graphics, I AM! If it does, then why don't all the damn GAMES look alike? I'll tell you why! B/c its the games, NOT those machines giving you gaming pleasure!

Now I'm done. No offense to anyone here.
