Forza

Well, I aplaud you for replying in a courteous manner... Some of the other members could definitely learn from your tact...

I'm shocked that there hasn't been a Force Feedback wheel scheduled for release for Forza yet... That is something they need to get started on very soon (if they haven't already)...

I will be buying all 3 games...

3 you say?...

Yes, I will be purchasing GT4, Forza, and last but certainly not least, Enthusia... Enthusia looks to be the real contender when it comes to physics... So far, I am pretty unimpressed with Forza's physics. However, I cannot make any solid judgement, as neither game is finished...

I am overjoyed that there will be 3 top simulation racing games released within the next year (for console)... We (as sim fans) have never been treated to such a cornucopia of sim goodness before... Be thankful...

;)

I forgot Enthusia...How could I..I will probably get it too. I agree for beeing treated with racing goodness. On xbox we had the MotoGP series which was awesome. We also had the chance to have ToCa2 which was a good mix between arcade / simulation. Too bad they dumb it down for console.

May i know what part of the Forza physics were you unimpress with ? I though it needed for vibration feedback but other then that i though it was a pretty good simulation.

I remember hearing about gt4's physics really being worked for the drifting portion of the game. I believe this info came from Kaz directly, could anyone find this?

I hope to God there is not a sepperate physics engine for "drift mode" (ala NFS:U)... Hell, there are thousands of us that have been drifting in GT3 for years... Why would we need a different physics engine for the different events?.. That severely takes from the realism...

Dont forget as well GTR for the PC and when is Enthusias estimated arrival?

Oh, I haven't forgotten "GTR"... That's why I said "console" releases... My computer cannot even begin to think about playing such games...

About Enthusia...

It just feels a bit unfinished, similar to the physics in Toca Race Driver 2... It feels like it can be great, but it's just not quite there yet... As previously stated, I will wait till the games are finished to pass final judgement....

GT was the King of the console, and the rest of the world is finally catching on :)
I for sure will be saving a little to cash for an X box and Forza as well as Enthusia, and experience eachs own merits, until some can produce the complete package.
GT5 anyone :D

I believe the main talk was about the info that will be displayed on screen to help you asure successful drifting, like the g force meter. There was talk about the physics I believe, I dont recall reading about another physics engine, that'd be a waste of time but I believe I read about the physics being worked greatly.

Please research your arguments before making them, otherwise you end up sounding biased, ignorant and stupid. well done fanboy you made the grade! 👍

What the hell do you think CobraGT has been doing in this thread?
Exactly that. He is all those qualities.

Every time I bring up something neat on Forza , he puts it down by saying GT4 is better than it when he hasn't even played the game.

I advise you to look around this thread more. You'll find more than me.

EDIT: And now before I go, I am just going to say this.
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT call me a Forza fanboy. If I truely was, I would hate and flame any other game which is what Cobra has been doing.

I will buy GTR, GT4, Forza, and Enthusia.

How do I know?
B/c 3 out of those 4 are on the reserve lists paid in FULL.

EDIT 2:
There is rumor of Mad Catz making a Forza wheel. Just ForzaCentral for more info.
Goodbye.

I think so far Forza has proven better, maybe because GT4 had assists on but still Forza has shown more in the physics than GT4 has shown. If if it will remain like this in the final, who knows. I do hope there becomes a proper wheel for the Xbox :)

Oh thank god

Yep rumours of a mad catz (dont laugh just yet.. just cause they make those shoddy replica pads which never seem to feel right. than a button dies on it) wheel infact hard proof its not just a pipe dream is around, although it almost certainly will have NO FORCE FEEDBACK, which is a real killer. FF is one of those things that once you use it you CANT go back to the old way.

A guy in the forzacentral forum found a file on the demo disc. It seems to show
tracks that will be in Forza.

Its already been seen at BestBuy. Its nothing more then an orange trimmed MC2 wheel. Cant miss it as it has Forza on the box.

I just spent 1 hour playing Forza and then I went straight to GT4 Japanese demo. GT4 demo felt like arcade. I don't I ever let my thumb off the throttle. Now i will give the benefit of the doubt that TCS/ABS was probably on for the demo and I don't understand why PD would do that ? It really felt like GT3 with little adjustement.

In order to maintain a better inform opinion, i'm currently downloading GT4 prologue to get a better grasp of the new physics engine some of you have been talkin' about.

thats nice, wanna turn yourself in before the black helecopters land on your lawn?

Or maybe you are, saying gt4 felt like an arcade, ha!

I said FELT like an arcade, not is an arcade...GT3 was very easy with assist on and that GT4 demo is exactly like that. Who has the on-hands experience with it ? I did over 20 screenshot of the game so far to proove that I have it. want me to post them again ?

what are you going on about now? is that English? Those that turn a blind eye to crime are as bad as the criminals

GT is supposed to be easier with assists on... its kinda hidden somewhere in the word "ASSIST"

Every game i have at home, I bought. I have over 80 ps2/xbox/gamecube game so don't talk to me about crime.

yeah but from the back of van for a fiver DOESNT count

LMAO !!! very funny. I buy original because I believe that game are a work of art that deserve encouragement for the artist who create them.

but isnt a work of art, or any creative expression something that should be created out of love for that artform and something that should be enjoyed freely? and shouldnt they be created for the sole purpose of enjoyment? ;)

*reads last 10 pages*

yeahhh... 👎

Well, I got the demo. I like it. Doesn't blow my socks off, but I would describe it as a good foundation for a great game.

The physics engine needs tweaking and balancing, but in terms of raw elements being simulated, it feels a lot more stout than GT3's. I haven't played prologue, or the new-fangled Japanese demo, so I can't compare. The tire traction, braking, and shifts in weight are a lot more pronounced, the power from each car is tangible and the crash physics are neat, but not "fully-featured". They're just kind of "there", for when you screw up. So far, the performance doesn't change radically when the car is damaged. Yes, it is a lot harder and more complex than any GT game I've ever played. But so far, it's not as much fun either (at least with the assists off.). In GT, it was more tailored for a gamepad, but Forza is a ***** to control smoothly with a controller, even with the very good triggers and thumbsticks. This game is dying for a good wheel, because the physics are impressive .

For the graphic-whores:

In 2 words: mixed bag. Great details, cool lighting, bright clear colours, fancy effects and crisp textures. Also very clean and sharp-looking with the AA and 480p support. But that clarity and sharpness highlights the graphical shortcomings, like some downright crappy car models (bizarre, since some of them are fantastic), overly light shadows (again, wierd, since the lighting engine is a cut above GT's, technically), cheesy particle effects like sparks (I'm seeing a pattern here, because a lot of the particle effects like gravel getting kicked up, look great) and a framerate that is merely "decent". GT is more consistent, polished and elegant-looking.

SOUND: **** yeah! Sound is brilliant in 5.1 digital, the engine sounds are snarly and raw, sound from the turbos is neat (it seems to be universal though, not custom-matched to the specific car), collisions sound brutal, and the tires screeching have so many different pitches and tones you can tell how your car is behaving just from the sound. Very good stuff.

Whether I consider forza a "better" game than GT4? MMMmm.... so far I'm still leaning to GT, because it's a more complete package, and the car selection is just enbeatable, and I still have my fingers crossed for tuning options.

I'm glad GT finally has something that can be considered competition. :)

Oh yeah, enthusia looks the part too. See attached pic. :D
