Forza

This FF Wheel for Xbox looks pretty cool. Not sure how good it is, just "bumped" in on it on the net..
Seriously! Check out the features....

Bring Xbox Racing to a new level with the power of Force Feedback and Vibration.
The precise sensors and the advanced TUNING features makes it the ultimate controller for any Xbox racing game.
Challenge your opponents online and use your Xbox Live Communicator to hear their frustration.

EDIT - Okay, I think I didnt read all the above posts on page 80. Anyway those who havent read all the posts, heres the Fanatec Page..

That is probably not a true force feedback wheel.

If you click on "FORCESHOCK" for Speedster 3 Forceshock XBOX and
Speedster 3 Forceshock (it's a wheel for PS1 and PS2) and compare the descriptions, there is a difference.

"FORCESHOCK" for Speedster 3 Forceshock XBOX:

"ForceShock is more than Force Feedback. It is Force Effects plus vibration effects."

"FORCESHOCK" for Speedster 3 Forceshock:

"ForceShock is more than Force Feedback. It is Force Feedback plus
vibration effects."

Since it says force effects for the XBOX wheel and force feedback for PS wheel,
it's probably not a true force feedback wheel.
But maybe true force feedback is possible on that wheel if
force feedback wheel support is implemented in games.

Simple issue is that Sony allows third-parties to do anything they please, and Microsoft allows them to do nothing, when it comes to installing drivers and such. Microsoft has to supply the driver, no-one else is allowed to do anything. That's why Logitech can't do it on the Xbox, whereas it seems to supply ready made FF drivers for its wheels to developers on the PS2. It's similar to Xbox's Live implementation, that bothered EA so much.

 That's their tough ****... if they knew what they were doing to make money and suppositely take over PS2 then they should have done whatever it took (especially since they came after PS2).

Yes erahk64, Thats a very good explanation. I didnt really focus on that bit. Now all we need to know is, if some's actually used it and are those "Force Effects" any "Simulative" and good? Then we'll have a confirmation that wheels for Xbox Suck.

Force effects is probably much less realistic compared to true force feedback, especially since the existing games are not optimized for that wheel.
Hopefully Forza has true force feedback support.

that comment is pure self-formulated speculation. You shouldn't do that.

Ok once Forza Motorsport is out in the UK next year I may write up a review of it facing GT4 like a review called GT4 V Forza Motorsport.

I actually read an artice comparing previews of GT4, PGR2 and Mario kart a good way back. I can't think why, but Mario kart didn't seem to fit in.

Ummm ok...

Look the ps2 has 2 joypad ports, IM LAUGHING UNCONTROLLABLY HAHAHAHA. Oh wait. It's not funny and no one cares.

most games dont' need more than 2 players, oh...and there're multitaps that supports up to 8 players if u want..

back on topic, now that GT4 is released, we should wait for forza to be released to compare them

Well, GT4 is now released in Japan and I must say it is disappointing me a lot. Forza is now the game I am expecting the most. GT4 lacks many cars that were supposed to be there and too much of their tracks are fantasy IMO. Forza's car list suits a lot more to my tastes. GT4 doesn't have Ferrari, Porsche, Koenigsegg, Cadillac is there but no CTS-V, no LMP, no XLR,there is no Corvette C6, no Pontiac Firebird but there is a Mitsubishi Galant 1992. Wow 140 HP, ugly as an ass hole and as fast as a turtle. Forza 2 or 3 will make GT4 and the future GTs look ridiculous. I'm glad there is now competition in the cosole sim racer domain.

See ya :sly:

The AI and the damage has me sooo excited about Forza!! That is what really sets these games apart from GT4. It is sooo much more realistic when you have to avoid damage. Ive been recently playing Toca 2 again and I cant believe how awesome and incredible the races are especially with 20 cars on the track, full damage, and intelligent AI. 👍 Forza is really really going to be incredible! 👍

Those can be unlockables. It's hard for me to believe they'd put the Caddy in there and not include the CTS-V, or the C6. I'm pretty sure they're in, but most like unlockbles. I'll know for myself in a few weeks.

The exclusion of the supercars are disappointing but doesn't ruin the game. Besides theres a couple less obvious supercars in the game. I'm anxious to see how Forza plays though...would be very interesting. I hope it turns out to be good so there will be some good competition between the two developers trying to put out the best sim.

so you're disappointed because a few cars are left out? Okay...whatever.

Ferrari and Porsche = overrated business men cars. Compensate all you want, these cars are overrated and not worth the fuss people make over them.

I won't go into my asshole mode, though I'm really tempted, but your statement is pretty stupid in itself...you haven't even played forza...shame.

That's exactly why I didn't buy a Gamecube. They can't make any car racing games. Alll the ones on there I can buy easily on another system.

IMHO, Gamecube isn't my type of machine, and Nintendo has drifted away from my liking of games.

I still need my fix of Mario. I got the cube JUST so I can play Mario Sunshine and Zelda and other good Nintendo games. It is sad that Nintendo can't keep up as of late though :(

and I do believe Ferraris are overrated but I'd still want to drive one! I was really looking forward to the Carrera GT and the Koeninsegg (?) CCR but oh well...

lol, you're backwards dood. Nintendo has never drifted, in fact their game selection is pretty much the same, what has changed is your taste in games. Think about it for a minute....

I think your right, the average age of gamers has increased over the last 5-10 years quite dramatically, Nintendo still aims their games at the same audience that once domiated 6 or 7 years ago.

GT4 Is the better game.

The graphics for GT4 are not as good but i actually like GT4's better. Some how the colour and tendering on forza looks odd. Put the forza on PS2 or Gt4 on X-box and GT4 will own.

GT5 will own racing game for physics, Graphics and everything. PS3

Also GT4 cars look more real. I compared the same Evo and GT4 looks more real with a more real shine on it. Forza looks amazing mid distance Gt4 looks good there but the cars and veiws are better.

I'm sure GT4 will be the better game, but I'm also sure Forza will be fantastic too, it might even last longer with it's 8 player online races and the ability to colour your car however you want.

First:I played the Forza demo, and altough just a demo, it was great.

Second: it's not only because of these two brands, but many other cars Forza has and GT will never because of their Japan car freakness. OMG, it's a Japanese ride dude, they ain't able to make a car with better than 280 hp, but they sell aftermarket parts for some loads of Ca$h.

Last, I don't like being called stupid, asshole.
