I am hennessey_86 on PSN and would love some races on GT5 although you can count me out of the drifting
Me neither but after reading this I popped it in to give it a go and I was quickly reminded why I can't stand the PS3........................Update....Update......Update......Install....Install.....and after about 45 minutes I finally get to play.
I think it is Forcone-FIN. Yeah we should have a few GT races too since I now have the G25 mounted on my "rig"...! I really love the feel of this wheel. I remembered it was far far worse. The FFB is super responsive and powerful! Superb for drifting! Also driving around my most hated track London in my BMW 1-series diesel on slicks was hard on my wrists, you really feel the grip!
You prefer using the G25 over the CSR for GT5?
I remember my old Logitech somethingwheel (it was blue), when I drifted (in GT4), the wheel was perfect for drifting. I changed the (no idea what it's called) "insert correct word here" 24v for the 12v, so it was easier to drift.. But how is the Fanatec different?
Is the blue one Driving Force or something like that? I think the main difference in drifting is that the lighter rim of the G25 makes the wheel a bit faster and more responsive, and the FFB is somehow more... Hmm... Sturdier I don't know how to describe it. Fanatec is very accurate and smooth but G25 is a bit more of a "brute". Powerful and "twist-your-wrist"-sort of wheel (some people may argue - read Thrustmaster and CSR Elite owners, haven't tried either of those myself). Also the leather rim on the G25 is better for drifting IMO. On the other hand I love the Alcantara on the GT2 for circuit racing.
Have you played about with the drift setting?.
Yes its not the best drift wheel, the CSR elite is supposed to be good for drifting
I've already established with my girlfriend, that there will be a dedicated gaming room! The house has to be big enough for that!
Thanks for the info on the wheels 👍 Hope the CSR will be good enough for drifting. And yes I think you're correct on the blue wheel, it was the Driving Force. I bought it around 10 years ago, I think..? Haven't played with a wheel since 2006, so I'm quite hyped now
I think it will be good enough for drifting, though the non-round rim might make it a bit "interesting" if you go for more than 540 deg rotation... For circuit racing, it will surely be just as great as the GT2! Did you also get the shifter set for it? The Porsche shifter is not great, but not crap either. I think they now sell the new "improved" version, which has a metal knob and a different casing (correct me if I'm wrong). The mechanics are pretty much the same I think?
...
I like your clutch technique. I didn't knew you could use it so pro, I thought it was more a fo sho' thang.. Very nice. Do I also have to use the clutch when pulling away at the start, like in real life? And what happens when you shift without using clutch?
I tried racing in socks/barefoot and just can't get used to it. Something feels wrong when I try it. But then again I race those R Class cars, takes above average concentration, superb eye hand coordination and God-like skills............unlike B class!I race in my socks....and no heel-toe for me. Too much work for this lazy bum.

Ooohhhh! Hey Jimbo, don't feel bad when you get lapped by those B class cars...in your R2 car.
