Chris got the glitch today again didn't he? I thought the mic could give this problem..

I believe he did. I thought someone mentioned, that they still got the glitch even with the mic unplugged. I know when I got mine, my mic was plugged in. I had my mic plugged in, in today's race, and didn't have a problem.

Yup I have had the glitch with and without having the mic plugged in. I have about had it myself. I'm going to march on through the rest of our Championship but once it's over be expecting a long break from me.

I've not had a visit from the wheel glitch gremlin in a while..:mischievous:

There was the thought that it might be related to the mic socket..

Then they thought it was related to a static buildup..

Some say, That the glitches are particularly bad when the moons full

All I know is that. when it strikes.. it usually results in..

Hardly any Points!

Sorry to see a few folks having problems, I know how frustrating this can be.. I missed the first months racing on account of my network being broken, then getting a one race ban for being stupid 🤬

But in real life racing, it's not always smooth..

as me old mum used to say..

"what doesn't kill you, make's you stronger!!"

So stick in there.. the seasons got a way to go yet....

What's next Chris..?

Sounds like I missed quite the race.

Only issues I ever had in Forza Online is a network error last week trying to get into the lobby. Has it been confirmed if it is Forza or Fanatec?

Not that it will make a difference as I have never lost connection or power to my wheel while racing but I still have fun even though I am slow and you would think it would get boring for me but it doesn't, stick with me guys, we have a long time to get more seasons in and what not.

I have had the issue with my GT2 two or three times I think...? Every time with the mic plugged in. Last time was that 350Z race, no wheel glitches at all since that. Haven't had the mic plugged in at all. Call me me paranoid or whatever, but for me unplugging the mic seemed to do the job! Might be caused by anything really, wheel firmware issues or something - all I know is: it suckkkkkkks! :yuck:

Well a few race shots from me.. it was close at times, and whilst there were a few incidents, I felt everyone did make an effort to keep it clean.. the M3 is a twitchy car at best, I had a much faster setup which I was testing, but it was very loose and slippy, with no traffic on the track it was a blast.. but racing's not like that!

In the end I went with a slower tighter setup as i felt there would me more overtake opportunities out of the slow corners. In addition any bumps with the loose setup and I'd have been knocked into next week :boggled:

Here are a couple of my personal thoughts from the weekend's race:

  • racing's not hot lapping! - you have to avoid the other cars.. so your car setup and corner entry speed needs to allow you to opt for a better/different line some times.
  • when you get it wrong your better taking yourself off the track than someone else! (sorry forcone - thanks to the others behind for helping me get off track )
  • Is the passing maneuver on? depends on what your exit line might be.. Is it right to go head to head for the apex.. then run the opponent off the track by closing the gap on the way out of the corner?

let me know what you think?

Now the pics..

Good example of close but no touch! outside car got a bit loose on the way in, I was tight to the inside line (slower) if I'd gone for the overtake we'd have collided on the way out of the corner.. he knew I was in the inside and left me enough room so I wasn't squeezed onto the grass..👍

A few laps later, I exited the turn to see all of this unfolding before me...in this case the old adage of "aim for where they are, cause they wont be there when you get there!" turned out to be true..

It looked like Chris got a bit loose on the way out of the previous corner, he got it under control then the car just went right into the barrier spinning into the path of the other.. they danced with the barriers for a while... if that's the glitch it's a nightmare!

Did I mention the racing was close at times.. here we go flat out into 130R

I went from last to third during this race.. this was one of only two overtakes..!!

So how did I make up so many places..

mostly other folks mistakes.. too fast into a corner meant a wide exit and a spin or loss of traction on exit, not that I'm complaining

Thanks for racing, and see you all on the track

P.S. If any club member wants the car paint, drop me a message with your race number and I'll stick it up on the storefront foc.

The first one is especially important. Just because you're able to go a certain speed through a turn when you're alone doesn't mean you'll be able to do that in a race.

To me, that's the biggest challenge in racing; sharing the track. edit: That was me, BTW.

That sucks man. Hate to see you not play anymore. One suggestion though, have you tried hooking it up directly to the modem? Maybe getting your router out of the picture might help.

I kind of know how you feel though. I still have this problem with GT5, where I'll get disconnected during the race. Every once in a while, I'll be able to get a short race in, but most of the time, I'll get disconnected. Got to the point, where there isn't any point of playing, because it gets old real fast. The single player is alright, but the AI sucks, and it's nothing like racing against real people.
My gaming consoles are in another room, so it's wi fi or nothing. Thing is, I don't have problems playing other games on any console online...the occasional lag is to be expected, but the problems with Forza are unacceptable.

After spending a couple days tuning my car and a couple HOURS putting a cheesy paintjob on it (rather proud of myself). I sat there waiting for race time and my daughter calls with car problems...So maybe next week...I was proud of my little BWM. But after reading some comments the race seemed glitchy.
Teewiggs I know what you mean..Ive been in public lobby's and glitched out before. Im new here but have yall tried a different person hosting the race??? Also are the people that are glitching using steering wheels??? I only ask this because Im going to order a Fanatec soon and didnt know if I was going to have a "Wheel Glitch" like some of you talk about
The problems are with Forza. Me, Forcone, and Chris have all had either the full lock glitch or the server boot glitches. We all use Fanatec wheels but the full lock glitch happens with the MS wheel too...and the network issues affect tons of people that don't use wheels.

Don't you guys have an option to use something like this devolo .. i used it for years on my PC rig.. no issues re network, it worked like a charm..

Hmmmmm, I may look into something like that, but it still doesn't explain the full lock glitch or the many users that use a wired connection and still have problems. I've used this same setup with The Halo, Gears of War, Madden and Call of Duty games on my 360 without problems....occasional lag with Halo but no problems at all with the other games online. PS3 is fine online also.

Yup that was the glitch. When I got loose it just didn't feel right. I think the glitch was already starting when I got loose. T10 really needs to look into this. It's getting to the point where I am just waiting for it to happen every race. Everyone watch out for me when your racing next to me because it could happen at any moment. :guilty:

let me know what you think?

I think that closing the gap on someone is a way of defending/overtaking.. I thought I had a battle with you, you tried to overtake me on the outside, I was braking pretty late, went further then needed, this way I ended up using your racing line so you had to lift off :sly:

What do you think of this:

(Watch the whole vid)

Well you sure showed it whos boss!

Also Chris where is your race rundown of what happened?

Sorry man. I was so aggravated with the glitch that I didn't take any pics. Well, except for one which was while I was having my shining moment. :indiff: I would post it but it seems "My Forza" is not up at the moment.

This is posted after every saturday's race. (Also check the FP Motorsports anouncements thread (http://www.forzaplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=498). You have to qualify to enter the saturdays race (or don't qualify and hope the room isn't filled, you will get an invite to the race if this is the case). There are some cars that the top100 or so is using. If you are using this car to qualify for the race, you will not get all the points. In this qualifying session, the Exige '06 is the leaderboard car becaus the top is using that car. If you want to get all your points, just use a different car. The Lotus 2-Eleven or Evora is a good car to do your qualifying in..

If you follow the link, read the opening post and I think you'll get it! :D

Yeah got it, so do you post your time somewhere for the qualifying? or is it done on the club on the game it self? haven't used the club page yet... actually I haven't got any friends on my list lol
