If PD was really smart, they would re-release all older versions for the PS5 and later platforms, with on-line access and bug fixes. Doing so would also increase demand for the latest console version.

I'd buy them.
I would DEARLY love this!

But I have read (long ago) that it would require re-licensing all of the content. And that would create costs FAR exceeding any gain.

So, we get a demo. It's free, and I'll try it, but I'm not using my PS much, if at all, any more. I do too much on the computer. I don't have to change around to do what I like.

new players won't see that.

New players only know how to put poop emojis on this website when someone criticizes the current state of the Gran Turismo or tells the truth.

Deep Forest - Nice!

Trial Mountain - Nice!

Kyoto Driving Park - WTF?

Seriously Yamauchi? If this is a declaration of love for the first game, you should have included High Speed Ring and not the more boring Kyoto variant...

The music choice is funny. Not that I don't mind big band but it has no place during a race. Unless of course, you're wearing a plaid button jacket while holding a tommy gun out the window.

I'd actually like this option for the vehicle info in the proper game

I've never said that. To the contrary. PD is already rewarding us with new content nearly monthly. (The fact that we may not enjoy all of it is another question).
ok, you may have not said it, then i will ;) I am appreciative of the regular free update from PD, but at the same time, i wish they also give us more this time too (greedy)
but we agree overall... A bonne entendeur ;)

It may not make sense, but that's one of the things that i appreciate (whether we all agree or not) from PD and Kaz to step out of the mold, being eccentric or out of the ordinary.
The "eclectic" choice in music by PD and Kaz is what makes it totally different from all other car games on the market... what may not make sense to you, doesn't mean it is a bad combination... overtime, you will see how it all fit in...

Love the unusual combo (i personally love Jazz and classical music, i am slowly moving away from my youth...)

I think the same. Why Kyoto Driving Park is in this demo and High Speed Ring not?

Don't get me wrong. Big band jazz is some of my favorite music to listen to. I agree with your statement about PD being unordinary. But I feel the music choices in the Music Rally should fit the kind of vehicles you're driving. That song would be perfect if your were driving the 8C 2900B for example. It just feels comical when your driving a bunch of modern sports cars while that music is playing.

What we have here... focus on license tests, no race cars, no VGTs, no esports "stars", only cult sports cars and "ordinary" vehicles with their full descriptions exposed in very first seconds of the trailer. Not bad.

It's almost like Kaz tried to send us a message: "look, guys, I still remember what made Gran Turismo great, no need to worry about Gran Turismo 8".

Well, at least that's what I'd like to believe in. I'll still be worried about GT8 until I see a proper progression system in the next game instead of this Cafe nonsense :D

The Comical part is exactly what is putting a huge smile on my face... Kaz taking us to places we dont expect...

I want more of those novel ideas....
... but of course we still need those things that we have been yearning, moaning and requesting about....

PD and Kaz have a huge backlog....

only time will tell, and i am confident they will deliver... yes it will take an eternity.... but you know what they say....

Funny how so many people are missing the point of this demo. If you're on this forum, there's a very strong likelihood that My First Gran Turismo, isn't aimed at you.
I have a friend at work who owns a PS5 and loves cars and racing games and is unsure if he wants to purchase GT7. This demo is perfect for people like him to get a flavor of the game's visuals, physics, progression etc. without actually purchasing the game beforehand.

Maybe they were tirelessly copying a few features of GT7 to this sample edition and couldn't find some time to add meaningful content to full game. Now I get it. Hopefully after this HUGE effort they can finally focus on those of us that paid for the actual game, or are even willing to pay for more worthy* content.
You mean add something else besides the 25 free post-release content updates?

Yes. We need endurance races, new missions, new events with good payouts and we need more races with variable weather/fuel/tyre usage.
Maybe they can add more cafe menu's?? Increase our level from 50-100...

Just saying some things...
Cool. Go say them in one of myriad other threads for that, and not this one which is not for that.

The only four thoughts going through my head as I watched the trailer were:

"...ok?"

"...ok."

"Where's the nostalgia?"

"God the music's annoying"

I love how PD flagrantly showcased their horrible AI driving on the back straight of Deep Forest. Like... I thought a trailer is supposed to make me want a game.
"Nostalgia" and aimed at new players doesn't compute...not everything is for you, or me in this case 🙂

So a Gran Turismo 7 "Prologue". It's free i think. But What a waste of time by PD. God.
i know that was your initial knee jerk reaction, and for a lot of us roamers around here, this MFGT post-GT7 Prologue may seem like a huge God waste of their time, from our POV....

.... but in the grand skim of things, and again from our POV it will never be a good time, but this Demo effort and push by Sony Ent and PD/Kaz to reach out and to create new generation of fans, cementing the loyalty to this series is very much needed now... for years to come.

what is microsoft doing with Forza to gain more fans? or EA with NFS ? nothing, they are creating good old fun crap... same old recipes...

GT is definitely aiming for the high road and creating beauty and art....

not an easy thing to do in the gaming world, and all the while, garner the respect from the real automotive industry on top of it.... who does that nowadays...

nothing compares to GT... yeah i am definitely a fan boi, but i believe for the right reasons...

i am happy to see the level of commitment from Kaz and PD on GT, there is hope.

I get that. But MFGT was also said to provide nostalgic feelings for returning players. GT has always tried to attract as many kinds of players as possible to play, which is one of its best strengths IMO, so I felt a let down by the trailer having nothing aimed at me.

Of course, whether the actual demo will delight or disappoint, I can only say after I've played it. It's just that watching that Deep Forest back straight kerfuffle and having music rally take up half the trailer made me not want to touch it, like most of the events and music rallies already in GT7.

This smells a lot like Sony "forcing" PD to make this due to PS 30th anniversary, rather than any actual incentive regarding GT7 (which doesn't make much sense anyway given the release happened almost 3 years ago).

It's funny though how people always hype themselves up to great lengths over nothing.
Nothing unexpected happened. It's just a demo.
