I've only tried fraps for recording replays, but can't figure out how to make it record continuously, it stops after a certain filesize is reached, I think. Need to try some of these other suggestions. đź‘Ť

I'll update the OP tomorrow but it's going the be Pure's Miata mod at Brands Hatch Indy.

Soooo much fun.

Great combo, if changing the setup is allowed add more negative camber with this car. About -1.6 in the front and -1.7 rear is what I tested with. Even more may help.

I tried the camber suggestion, but I can't tell if it helped because this car feels so wild. Anyone know how to tame it? the slightest pressing of the brakes causes the front to bit and dip, then the thing swings around worse than anything I've driven before... is this how these cars really drive?

Well, Soft Suspension = to that. Plus the brakes on the Miata are funky. But its quite nice when the rear goes out.

I found that changing the camber to Carr's suggested settings helped tame it a bit and make it a little more stable in the turns. But I've had the same problems as you, really easy to make the back end come 'round. Other than the camber I haven't fiddled with anything else, just modified my driving technique to keep the pointy end forward. I haven't done much serious practicing, think my best was a mid 1:02.

Yeah, I had only a 1:03 something... I found that I had to be so extremely careful entering corners not to have the spinnies, that it felt like I was not giving it enough power to go fast. I need to figure something out, or it will be a very messy race :(

Asked in the Miata thread already but I guess it wasn't updated to the new tyre model, which makes most mods feel a bit lifeless and uncontrollable compared to the kunos cars.

I don't think the tires have as much to do with its unruliness as the suspension does. When you jam the binders the front end really dives which takes weight off the rear and encourages it to chase its tail. But you don't really need to jam the binders too much at this track, so a gentle left foot can help keep it facing the right way.

Anyone know how to tame it?

Never lift off the throttle completely. The tune I'll be using is attached. Cranked up the rear toe to an absurd number but it seemed to help.

Don't get frustrated with it tonight, remember this is Friday Night FUN :) Drifting this thing around Paddock Hill is a blast!

Edit: See?

Fun.

It isn't normally that bad on good shocks and "ok" tires. But after a recent update it feels 100% like my car did on old shocks and garbage tires in real life (autocross ). The key is don't lift off the throttle fast and be smooth releasing the brakes.

Thanks @Wiz for hosting, I was lucky to catch the tail end.

Aye i recognize those headlights! Oh yes! Its kitten! In third place! Until i got sloppy and left  My G27 Shifter is shot, i kept mis-shifting to 2nd. ending up in neutral.

I was around 1:01.7 - 1.02.6

The Miata was definitely a handful. Thanks for coming out all.

OP is updated for next week. Please note it's the "Short 2" version of the track we'll be driving on. This little FWD racecar is a lot easier to drive than the Miata! Should make for some good, close racing. đź‘Ť

Sorry for the double mod combo.

thanks everyone, with some advice in lounge, and on this page I was able to finall yget good control of the car.

fun stuff!
