Very rare, but what a way to ruin one of the most beautiful cars ever produced.
That wing on the roof is criminal.
If I had the money I'd buy that monstrosity and put it back to the way it ought to be.
Why not get a 'cheaper' Miura which you don't have to fiddle with?
Blame the Jota for influencing people's tastes in Miuras, really. If anything, the inspiration behind the SVR as well as the SVJ was the Jota, for the best or the worst, so that is why those two have the "racing-esque" treatment that they received...
The wing may not be pretty, but it's the distinct factor that sets the SVR apart from "normal" Miuras, or one of the factors to be more precise.

I like it, but without the wing of course. The cut up rear is cool, reminds me of stuff like the 037.

Some things should just not be messed with.
This is absolute perfection. There is not one single thing that could have been be improved and it should have been left alone.
Because messing up a Miura is a crime and that car deserves better. Why not get a 'cheaper' Miura which you don't have to fiddle with?

There aren't that many, and they're quite delicate. I'd be surprised if more than 600 exist today. But there's so many others that you wouldn't be butchering something rare to fit your ordeal? I don't understand...

The 5 SVJs were not even close to IOTA, though, which is the sad part. This SVR which was originally a P400S, has become the closest thing to IOTA's original build & IOTA will likely never be for sale publicly since its been fully restored. The crazy thing about these special Miuras is that only 5 SV/Js were officially produced by Lamborghini (because Jota legend, why not?) and the rest of those "Jota-spec" Miuras are basically tuned P400-spec cars and also sold by owners in ridiculous prices comparable to that of the official SV/J's.
That red SVR started life as a green Miura then its Swiss owner dumped it with crazy mods just to have his very own Jota.
That's when crazy Lamborghini tuning started, along with the Walter Wolf Countach (that became the basis for wheel arches and spoilers of the later Countaches like the QV)
$1.3-$1.6 million for a MP12 with a few extras and a horrendously tacky paint scheme
If anyone plays more than the average market value of 2012 12C for that they are insane.
So I checked the bingosports website and what do I find? A '76 AMC Pacer.
Well, the High Sports I think have some uniqueness to them, but it's clear what you're grossly overpaying for are the signatures. And any diehard McLaren fan (which are the only ppl I think would but that) have already bought the High Sports or more recently, the LeMans tribute model.I just don't see the value in even a limited production 12C, and certainly not getting on for 10x the value of a base model.
You're being asked to pay for upgrades that were available to any owner via the special operations department, a few signatures from the motorsports team (not sure if this has any value) and the fact that Ron Dennis was the original owner (again, what value does this have?).
IMO, it's worth about half it's original invoice price - which is the typical depreciation curve for a MP12.
