Funny things RICErs say (radically immature car enthusiasts)

I'm in high school, and when you're in high school, you see a lot of rice. I saw a Dodge Neon that was red with black racing stripes, kind of like the twin stripes atop the Ford GT. And the Neon wasn't even the SRT-4. The SRT-4 is the only Neon I have respect for. In 16 days when our winter break is over, I'm sure to see some more rice.

Why did this not quote even though I quoted? Anyway, deleted in case of a double post.

I think that more or less depends on where you come from. There's only one rice box I can think of around here...and it's only a lime green Honda with bright white wheels. Other than that, usually you see older stuff. A couple from here is 70s Ford trucks, Mustangs, the odd Camaro or Challenger, Monte Carlos etc.

I've to agree with the first sentence. And to add on to that, where you're at when you see something terrible is a deciding factor too. Get a bunch of people in a place where their age group is the majority over everyone else, and its pretty much a given that some are ricers.

A lot of people I went to school just plain don't like imports in general, and the ones that do drive them, beat the snot out of them haha.

^Almost the direct opposite of my school. Too many people I know fanboyed imports and said American cars suck and they always made the most idiotic comparisons. One guy was saying that a Mazda RX-8 could be a Skyline R34 GT-R, he decided to show me a video of a drag race between them as proof and the cars were modded.

*facepalm*
That doesn't prove that a RX-8 is faster than a Skyline, that just proves one guy modded his car to be faster than the other.

The problem I have is trying to get my car guy friends to realize that I like pretty much everything from Mitsubishi Eclipses to McLaren F1s. So much as they look good though. I have a friend that has the "Ford F1 McLaren" as a favorite car. I'm not sure if he means McLaren F1 or McLaren Formula 1 racecar or what.

If you throw money at something, it will go fast.

Here, it's all imports "blow major donkey 🤬". It's literally "Mustangs, Camaro's and Challengers are end all to everything" and "Ford and Chevy truck for life, screw everything else" and "I could give 2 🤬 about gas mileage" and "those Japenese pieces of 🤬 are terrible and only good for ramming into a pole at 100mph".

Seriously though. And you all wonder where I get my bias from

You would not believe the arguments we get in over who has the better truck. To the point I've had my life threatend. It gets bad. I have a few GTP members on my FB and they've seen some of it and are astounded. Here it literally all about who has the bigger badder vehicle and who has the biggest 🤬.

I have a few friends that like the occasional import like a STi, RX-7 or Supra, but that's about the extent of it.

Hey, I live in the same sort of area, and I ended up with the absolute opposite taste in cars.

I'm just going to say this: any other day I'm impartial and go for anything unless its a day of a NASCAR race, then its Chevy. For trucks, Chevy. The key thing here is that I'm impartial. Why can't everyone be like that?

I'm temperamental. Somedays I will agree with them, others I recognize that they aren't the best things in the world. Depends on my mood I guess.

At the end of the day, we all give each other hell, but we are still family in that regard. I don't hate any make, model or anything like that. I realize there are vehicles out there vastly superior to anything I own.

Part of why I said almost opposite, my friends and I would always argue which car has decent performance and talk about laptimes and quarter mile times on top of hp and there were 2 of them always bringing up the Nissan GT-R. The only thing is that none of us never threatened each other's lines or anything like that. But yeah, that is part of the reason why I have such aggression towards the Nissan GT-R, sheesh this thing is overrated!

I agree, I feel the same about the GT-R.

No one really cares about circuit laptimes...it's all about drag racing.

I honestly wouldn't be at all surprised if the car gets so much praise because of the Fast and Furious movies and video games, but mostly the former. I don't think its overrated, but even if I did, I would still like to have one. Even if I did have the money for one and get it imported to the US, it would be useless because the emissions are too high for the state I live in.

I'm not talking about the R34 Skyline GT-R or the previous ones before that, I'm talking about current R35 GT-R.

I hear about this thing all of the time, brought up in a lot of car arguments. It's a great car, but it attracted such an annoying fanbase. Although, I still like the car, I just get tired of hearing it in every car argument just about. As for the previous GT-Rs, I really like those; I don't think the older Skyline GT-Rs are overated at all.

Oh, okay. My mistake. My mindset is that the GT-R, whether new or old gen, is still a GT-R. I thought you meant the GT-R in general. Sorry.

Honestly, I'll take a GT-R fanboy over a (modern) Mustang fanboy. At least the former's nonsense is rooted in a bit of truth.

And I do rather like the GT-R. It's one of those rare supercars that I would actually own as a daily driver.

These days I automatically assume R35 when someone is talking about a GT-R, since most of the time that is what they are referring to. IF they are talking about an older one, it usually is referred to as a Skyline or Skyline GT-R. Technically I don't think it's all that correct (I don't really know them that well), but I've gotten used to it so I just roll with it to avoid an explanation.

Honestly, I don't really see how the Mustang is overrated. It's got a good fanbase, plenty of aftermarket go-fast parts and they just a hoot to drive and have fun with. It's really an American icon. Personally, I think it's one of the best looking cars ever built. Everything about it just seems right.

The V6 fanboys are the ones you have to watch out for

The guys with the V8's don't mess around though.

You can bet I am a fanboy

I've been that way since I first layed eyes on a 1965 car.

When I was a kid (we are talking age 4 and younger), the Camaro used to be my favorite matchbox car....

As far as I've seen, the V8 Mustang guys seem to be easy going, nice people. They recognize others with faster cars, don't pretend theirs is the fastest thing out there, and just seem to be good natured. I caught a ride in a 1970 Mach 1 351C and the guy was very nice to me. Didn't cost me a thing to ride in the car (I offered him money to race it and he ended up turning it down). He told me straight up...it was not a drag car. It was pretty quick I'll admit though, and very fun. You can't describe riding in a classic. The seats were extremely squishy (most comfortable I've ever been in), steering and suspension very hard and tight and the car was very quick. You could hear the air blowing past the car, the air sucked into the engine, feel the driveshaft spinning under the floor, the entire car violently vibrating under the power of the engine...something new cars just don't have. They lack that character I've come to love. And the name...the name "Mustang" just screams performance and rols off the tongue.

However, I have a friend with a New Edge style V6...and he thinks it's the fastest V6 Mustang around (it's 100% stock btw). He even claimed it would beat my other friends SUPERCHARGED GTP!

Not the case haha.

Reminds me of the time I got a ride in my friend's dad's 1966 Dodge Polara. Same person also has an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme from '60s or '70s.

It was kind of like the time I got a ride in a my friends Mustang II. Mild 302, 4 speed manual...that car GOT UP AND WENT. I was surprised at how quick it really was.

It's really something to ride around in a classic such as that. Moments I won't ever forget, that's for sure. Someday I hope to own a few of these cars. Even if those cars aren't all that fast...that doesn't really matter to me. It's just the feeling you get when you get in one. From the weight of the doors when you open them to the play in the steering wheel to the knobs on the radio.

What this thread has amounted to is teenagers that sort of have know how talking about absurd things kids that don't know much say. Along with a circlejerk about American cars.

Damn. I could do this all day for any topic.
