My dad claimed that larger rims on a car will cause it to perform better.
There is some truth to that, but in only certain types of performing. Different rim/tire combos excel at different things.

Larger rims with smaller profile tires will usually increase response when fitted on a normal car.
Bopop4Assuming the stroke is 3.5 inches, he's running a 15.2L motor.
I am losing faith in humanity. At school, when asked what my dream car was, I said "Honda NSX". They couldn't understand why I liked "all them crap ones" as they put it
Bopop4I find that Subaru drivers think that their car is god's gift to earth, which makes for pretty funny conversations when they don't even know what a rear sway bar will do to the handling.
Yeah I get it from Chevy fanboys all the time. How exactly is a Camaro better than a mustang. I hear "🤬 Ford" but then they can't give me a legitimate reason as to why Ford apparently sucks so bad. I am in the minority lol
^ To most people, any car that goes slower than 300km/h or isn't from one of the "supercar" brands is a "crap" car
Around here, it's just anything that isn't American. Even if said car is only "American" in badging, and was actually built in Mexico or rebranded from a "foreign" car.
The amount of 🤬 I get for having the audacity to think that Hondas and Audis are good cars is astounding. And I rather like my little Civic.

Same here. It's the opposite where I live, if it's American; the people I know would call it s**t for the most part. Well, not everyone of my friends, but most of them are idiots. They still believe in the stereotype that a mustang can't corner. A friend of mine just called a '99 Cobra gay.
Yeah, I like my friends in CT, but they're really ignorant. If anyone remembers why I called the Shelby Cobra & Ford GT40 american, it was because I got brainwashed by my friend that thinks a car is made by certain country by badge. He called a Chevy sold in the middle east american even though it was built in another country.Same here.
The funny thing is both trucks use the same underpinnings.Had a guy in a '92 or '93 F250 IDI come up to me while I was fueling up my '91 Dodge and proceed to tell me how much better his truck could pull a load, how his Ford would last longer than my Dodge ever would and how slow my truck was. I just laughed and said, "oh yeah, lets see what you have under the hood." He popped it, again I laughed, popped my hood and pointed at my turbocharger and intercooler and said, "would you look at that" and just smiled. His truck was non turbocharged as well as non intercooled.
He then proceeds to get mad and say my truck most not have many miles on it since it has no rust on it and the dually fenders are in perfect shape. He shows me his odometer and it is right at 200K miles, (the truck is beat to hell, rust holes in the bed, sagging doors etc...) and again I smile say "impressive" and pull out my log book. I said "You got one thing on me, my odo broke at 182K miles but I've kept a record of my miles since then." Showed him it was right at 400K miles as well as my average of over 20mpg and he was flabbergasted.
I told him he had a nice truck but he needed to stop letting his Ford bias get in the way of admitting when something is superior. We shook hands, parted ways and I shook my head at the $100+ fuel bill.

People that say "Form>Function".
Those are actually the only Ford trucks I really like. Of course I'd prefer an OBS with a PowerStroke if I had to get a Ford but I'm a diesel fan in general, not just a Cummins fan (even though it is my favorite) so I'll gladly wave at all the other diesel guys around my area. Most of 'em wave back because a 1st gen Cummins is a pretty rare sight around here, especially one in good shape, but I've seen this guy around for a year or two now and he's not waved back once.
I've never understood why someone having a different opinion on vehicles brings out so much hate in some, but this guy is certainly one of them. At least he seemed to have learned something today so hopefully next time we see each other he'll give a wave back.
