Funny things RICErs say (radically immature car enthusiasts)

My dad claimed that larger rims on a car will cause it to perform better.

There is some truth to that, but in only certain types of performing. Different rim/tire combos excel at different things.

Having a friend that compares a Cadillac CTS-V to a Nissan GT-R. It's not that ricerish. I just find it silly to compare 2 cars like that when they're in 2 different classes.

Lol the guy videoing it knows it's a bunch of bull haha.

"Combustions up to uh, 7.5"

WHAT

I am losing faith in humanity. At school, when asked what my dream car was, I said "Honda NSX". They couldn't understand why I liked "all them crap ones" as they put it:scared:

Yeah I get it from Chevy fanboys all the time. How exactly is a Camaro better than a mustang. I hear "🤬 Ford" but then they can't give me a legitimate reason as to why Ford apparently sucks so bad. I am in the minority lol

Bopop4
I find that Subaru drivers think that their car is god's gift to earth, which makes for pretty funny conversations when they don't even know what a rear sway bar will do to the handling.

This +1

I am a Ford fan too, they don't get why I like them either:indiff:

^ To most people, any car that goes slower than 300km/h or isn't from one of the "supercar" brands is a "crap" car :grumpy:

Around here, it's just anything that isn't American. Even if said car is only "American" in badging, and was actually built in Mexico or rebranded from a "foreign" car.

The amount of 🤬 I get for having the audacity to think that Hondas and Audis are good cars is astounding. And I rather like my little Civic.

You would not want to live here.

The V8 Supercar fan base of Holden and Ford rivalry is still the most intense rivalry I've seen in sports,

I must say though that at Bathurst this year the Mercedes and Datsuns (NISSANS) have brought in two really different crowds,

The Holden and Ford fans left 90% of banter in the rivalry at the side of the track whilst the other 10% carries on and eventually dies out through the evening to be awoken the next day,

The Mercedes fans, though extremely minimal, were extremely quite and I guess figured camping on a hill was to mundane for them, getting dirty fingers must be beneath them or something, but otherwise a good crowd,

However, The Datsun guys.... I feared the the campsite would be flooded with GTS-t and 240SX's and the general RICER image that follows them came to the mountain, though not in the masses I expected, but the NISSANS really did attract a bunch of guys that were just obnoxious and pathetic, Starting fights, setting flags on fire and damaging other personal property, it was like a mild premature pack of wannabe gangsta's arrived,

The worst part is these Datsun fans managed to get hard drugs into the campsite in large quantities, and in a stolen van! this made the experience for the rest of us somewhat tainted, there are children on these campsites, and its taken organizers decades to get things calm and relaxed, I pray this is just some bad eggs in a group of people who dress virtually the same, with a general entry requirement to the Datsun club is more grease in the hair then on bearings, And the cars are represented by a better group of fans on the hill next year, it really brought a brilliant atmosphere down a few pegs for the rest of us, and may make things more difficult for us in the future years,

It's the opposite where I live, if it's American; the people I know would call it s**t for the most part. Well, not everyone of my friends, but most of them are idiots. They still believe in the stereotype that a mustang can't corner. A friend of mine just called a '99 Cobra gay.

Same here.

Had a guy in a '92 or '93 F250 IDI come up to me while I was fueling up my '91 Dodge and proceed to tell me how much better his truck could pull a load, how his Ford would last longer than my Dodge ever would and how slow my truck was. I just laughed and said, "oh yeah, lets see what you have under the hood." He popped it, again I laughed, popped my hood and pointed at my turbocharger and intercooler and said, "would you look at that" and just smiled. His truck was non turbocharged as well as non intercooled.

He then proceeds to get mad and say my truck most not have many miles on it since it has no rust on it and the dually fenders are in perfect shape. He shows me his odometer and it is right at 200K miles, (the truck is beat to hell, rust holes in the bed, sagging doors etc...) and again I smile say "impressive" and pull out my log book. I said "You got one thing on me, my odo broke at 182K miles but I've kept a record of my miles since then." Showed him it was right at 400K miles as well as my average of over 20mpg and he was flabbergasted.

I told him he had a nice truck but he needed to stop letting his Ford bias get in the way of admitting when something is superior. We shook hands, parted ways and I shook my head at the $100+ fuel bill.

Yeah, I like my friends in CT, but they're really ignorant. If anyone remembers why I called the Shelby Cobra & Ford GT40 american, it was because I got brainwashed by my friend that thinks a car is made by certain country by badge. He called a Chevy sold in the middle east american even though it was built in another country.

The funny thing is both trucks use the same underpinnings.

Those are actually the only Ford trucks I really like. Of course I'd prefer an OBS with a PowerStroke if I had to get a Ford but I'm a diesel fan in general, not just a Cummins fan (even though it is my favorite) so I'll gladly wave at all the other diesel guys around my area. Most of 'em wave back because a 1st gen Cummins is a pretty rare sight around here, especially one in good shape, but I've seen this guy around for a year or two now and he's not waved back once.

I've never understood why someone having a different opinion on vehicles brings out so much hate in some, but this guy is certainly one of them. At least he seemed to have learned something today so hopefully next time we see each other he'll give a wave back.

People that say "Form>Function".

I can be that way sometimes. The look of a vehicle I find is sometimes more important. Depends on the circumstances though. I'm a pretty picky person.

I prefer 1970-1995 for Ford, 1975-1993 for Dodge and 1975-1987 for Chevy. I just like the older ones in general. I'm not a bit diesel guy though.

People that fanboy japanese cars really get on my nerves! There's people on facebook that talk trash about Ferraris because they're more expensive than whatever they have and then claim that they can torch a Ferrari F40 when they just have a honda accord with a fart can exhaust and ugly rims.

Yes, there are high-end supercars that are overpriced and there are cars that can beat them for cheaper prices, but that doesn't mean you go talk smack about the cars. It's like they don't understand the special thing about supercars at all.

Yeah, there's that kind of thinking all over the place. It comes from both sides though. There are also ignorant people who believe things like, all Ferraris are undoubtedly faster than any Japanese sports cars, and they won't get convinced if you tell them that the turbocharged variant of the MkIV Supra could go faster than an entry-level Ferrari from the same year, or how the NSX was widely praised for being one of the best handling cars ever made.

Who do I consult so I can get the nearly minute and a half of my life back. Does any body read stuff to actually learn about cars any more? I mean hell I was reading from a young age about the stuff and then learned more in depth by actually doing and so on. I feel like those type of morons in the video just gather around a table and come up with asinine off the wall stuff.

Wish I could say I was surprised but Riverside has always been the capital of wanna be gangsters and bad asses. As evidence from the fact that the owner had to take a picture with the car he's trying to sell (or not sell).

I learned a bit from TV and magazines, then it kinda just... Happened. I became hooked on cars and yeah.

I know a bit about them.

OMG, these stories are hilarious and I'm losing my faith in us humans real fast as well.

@Random: The video was funny as heck with the kid talking thinking his V6 Mustang is a 15.2L engine which will destroy anything out there . He needs to read and do research on his car and cars in general instead of making up bs.

@TZDave: Man, after hearing that wild story, it seems like tough guys and complete dumb:censored: want to destroy everything out there and give anyone out there a bad name who's a fan of Nissan and to the series. I feel sorry for the REAL Nissan fans who wanted to get away from these retarded gutter thugs and idiots tearing up stuff just for nothing. Why not enjoy some Commodores vs. Falcons vs. Altimas vs. E-Class action on the track with fellow fans? Are these wannabes new to V8SC?

@LMS: I agree. When I was a kid I always enjoyed learning about things around me and when it came to cars and trucks, I read about them, seen them on TV and even asked people about them, especially if they owned a certain car that I wanted to know more about. Then when I was getting older, I gather more knowledge from GT, older NFS, Test Drive series back in the 90's and 00's about cars and trucks, even vehicles I haven't seen nor known about and they are some of my top favorites. Even to this day, I'm still learning about them and I love every moment of it.

But the main thing today, we have the Internet and you can look up and do some research on cars and how they operate and work, but with cars, science, politics, guns, technology, art, games and many interesting subjects to indulge, people ignore them or think they know it all and screw up for people who know and want to learn and when morons screw up, always a excuse or they will start a :censored:storm with cursing and acting stupid. In return gives us a bad name from ignorant idiots who always stereotype within these group from a few bad eggs.

And I thought people will be at least wanting to learn and experience stuff today better, but noooo...
