Funny things RICErs say (radically immature car enthusiasts)

Guys, a friend of mine claims his dad owns this car, and when I asked him what car it was, he said Mustang. I called it a ******** claim because he has to ask his dad so he can tell me what car it is.... right.

It looks Italian to me. The back does look like a '70's Mustang, but the front is off

It's a Ford Maverick, a compact car Ford made in the 70s to combat import cars.

Wow... that's just sad, especially since half of the car is covered in badges that say "Maverick"

...or Comet, depending if you have the Mercury version.

Plus 302 :mischievous:

That looks like a 6 cylinder car

^^^The factory V8 cars had secondary turn signals like the Mustangs next to the headlights and lacks a badge. If the car doesn't have that, either the grill was replaced, or it was originally a 4 lug, Inline 6 cylinder car. Came with 3 engines and several transmissions.

They really are an awesome platform to go fast. Extremely light and nimble. Later models got a grill update and ginormous bumpers. They also came in larger, 4 door variants as well as 2 and 4 door coupes.

If you're not a car person, it's not that far off.

Although the fact that my eyes are still watering from the Doctor's regeneration might be skewing things a bit....

Yeah I can agree with that. I always said the Mav should have been the Stang. Specifically with the 1969/79 Shelby front end, widend body, and 71-73 rear end

Yeah I figured Maverick, but couldn't really tell thanks to his phone's amazing camera.

After I wrote Nova, I thought to myself "WTF did you say that for?" I could've said anything, and I said Nova

The thing that pissed me off was the fact that he tried to act like a car guy, and the fact that he claimed it to be his

I tend to do that though sometimes with my dads truck. I just say its "mine" as in the family just to keep things short. But usually people know as we've had the conversation before.

I will say though he has an early maverick which is nicer than the ones with the 5mph bumpers. Oh god those things were bad.

This one looks alright...

*WARNING! RACER STORY*

About a month ago I was waiting for some friends at safeway, when some kid who's like 15 or so(too young to be driving imo) pulls up in a 2003 Honda Civic coupe. He gave me this weird glare as I'm just sitting on my AE86's trunk and then he gets out grinning at me. He then sorta complimented my car after saying his was much better. I just kinda rolled with it since I didn't want to race him or anything. Then he told me on how he scared his grandma in a Civic, and then I just told him "okay, that's not cool and it's a bad idea to be showing off as if you own a Ferrari in a Civic". Then he got mad. After my friends came he followed us over and passed by us on the road we take(it's a touge course lol) then I just said "screw it", and after a corner or two he was gone.

I don't like racing on the streets in my 8-6, but I do enjoy putting those dumb ricer kids in their place. Thank god the U.S. never got Skylines or else I'd hate them too for ricers having them.

Was it even a Si?

Don't know where they got the idea that a Civic is a fast car. Got plenty at my school, you can hear them rev their nuts off in the parking garage. But when I pull up next to one in a set of lights they're quiet and never look at me :(

Newest one (dunno to put this here or the GT6 worst thing to happen online thread)

Online on GT6 I witnessed a sentence of such stupidity that I threw up... Here goes

"I haven't driven a 911 (And don't intend to) but they're 🤬"

My uncle had a 997.1 Carrera 4 and it was AMAZING. The most perfect drivers car even from the passenger seat! So as I said this to him, he said

"They're German. I prefer American cars."

The reason "I don't like Vettle (how he spelt it)" and went on to claim he knew a lot about formula one.

But failed to answer the question "Where was the first race of the 1950 season?" Silverstone... THE TRACK WE WERE DRIVING!

"Fast" is a relative term... In the world of N/A fwd economy cars turned tuners, the Si is fast. 👍
Not sure about the newest generation of them, they stepped up to a larger displacement engine and reduced the redline, supposedly increasing torque making it a bit more user friendly.
That said, it's all relative.
I had a blast with my Si for the short time I had one.

Am I the only one that thinks that car is beautiful?
Nothing wrong with bumpers that are actually made to do what they're supposed to do, IMO. 👍 The 5mph bumpers on my old BMW protected it from unsightly crunches multiple times. The modern plastic things on my Legacy were mangled by previous owners, and I can't afford repairs/replacements. They certainly don't look better than a 5mph bumper now.

I don't mind the 5 mph bumpers personally, unless when used on supercars like the Lamborghini Countach and Mclaren F1; I recall seeing a couple pictures of those in another thread on here and they were yucky looking on them.

I much prefer the low profile bumpers that the originals came with, but I will admit I don't really hate the 5mph bumpers. They can make some things look decent actually.
