Funny things RICErs say (radically immature car enthusiasts)

As heard today "Yeah I just got sponsored by Red Bull. Rallycross here I come"
"I don't think you'll do too well..."
"What? I'm a good driver"
"Your rallycross car has about 140bhp."
"So?"
"Divide that by 100 and you're getting an RX car's 0-60"

Why am I laughing so hard?

I think he's trying to say driving in a straight line takes little technique and ability.
He's saying it takes more skill to drive on a curvy road than a straight line.

Anyone who says that is full of ignorance. Drag racing is way more complex than people here seem to realize.
I think drag racing is complex, but just not as complex as other auto sports.

You are missing the point entirely. Let a 16 year old drive a Top Fueller and see what happens.

I'm not missing the point.

If you put a 16 year old in any car, lives are in danger.

Yesterday, when a friend was driving a Smart Fortwo, she almost hit a curb at 40 km/h.

Yes, putting a 16 year old in a top fuel drag car is a terrible idea, but so is asking that same 16 year old to get groceries, or even to pull the car into the garage.

Any of my 16 year old friends can technically get their license. Many are involved in crashes...

Edit: but feel free to tell me how that's any different from putting them in a rally car, drift car, street car, or bicycle. Yes, I've seen 16 year olds break their *generic number of bones* with something as docile with a bicycle.

That's the point I am making. Entirely different skill levels.

Yes. It goes...

-drag
-grocery runs
-downtown
-karting
-track day
-touring cars
-drift
-NASCAR
-Formula cars
-rally

You have personal experience in actual drag racing, actual touring cars, real drifting, a spin around a track in both a NASCAR and a formula car, and an actual world-class rally event? Wow, that's quite the motorsports career you've had.

Having experience with only a few items doesn't lend any credibility to ranking them against the others. You could rank those few with each other and then I might believe you. And as someone who doesn't think highly of drag racing, I still LOL at where you put it.

He drove a slushbox Impreza on a track once. Isn't that the same?
