I have a bit of an off topic question, but it is something that I have wondered for some time...

How come people mark the center point of the wheel?

Here is my setup.
I bought a bigger house so i was able to convert one room into my geek zone !

here is the result :

playing live for speed and gt4 on ps2. Still saving up for ps3. Will most probly get it when some sort of package comes out with the full version of gt5.

Made some modifications to my racing setup. I decided to remove the G25 pedals from their plastic casing and mount them upside down in the cockpit for a better racing position. I also spaced the pedals out and it is now much more comfortable. Here are the pics .....

You might like to try moving the brake and accelerator pedal closer together to allow easier heel and toeing. When I inverted my G25 pedals, I cut them down and positioned them exactly as in my real car – works great!

When the going gets tough, you want every help possible to know when your wheels are pointing straight ahead. I marked my Pug 106GTI's wheel before I took part in a "Snow and Ice" event because, when it's slipping at the front wheels, you can't feel if they are straight as easily 👍

It's not fancy, but it is proper solid creation and (an that is the main thing) it works!

A G25 wheel, display is a 24" Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM (HDMI input), some old Nissan (I think) seat that functions in all ways and my own addon - a real handbrake. I made it and connected it parallel to a button in G25 shifter console, so the button works or the lever works - simultaneously.

I use this setup also for some PC racing, hence the display.

G25 shifter console and mounting:

Handbrake (the spring is there to pull it down and give resistance)

So what did you use to mark the position on the wheel? Some sort of colored electrical tape?

So what did you do? Did you commission someone to create that wallpaper for you?:D Would you try replicating the pit garage in GT5 Prologue if you had the chance to do the same to another gaming room?

Beautiful Mixka!

What kind of Sparco seat is that? Looks amazing!

Looks like you had the right idea with your screen placement. So many people sit sooooooo far away from the screen. Really takes away from the immersion, in my opinion.

EDIT: I just noticed, that shift knob is backwards, isn't it?....

;)

I thought that too. Impressive cockpit, nontheless.

In fact, there are a lot of absolutely awesome looking cockpits in this thread. Envious of you all, being a pad user with no disposable income!

Here is the latest edition of my RIGG. My 32 inch finally gave out and I broke down and bought a 52 inch Sony XBR7 with 240hrtz refresh rate.

I was looking through the pictures of your setups and noticed this one of the TV.
You don't sit that close do you? :odd:
My 52" is about 8' away and sometimes I think it may too close.

Great setups by the way. 👍

I have a 52" Sharp Aquos and my cockpit is about that close. It feels like I'm sitting in the back seat of the car otherwise.

;)

This may be why I'm so slow on the track, you now, being a back seat driver and all. :dopey:

Actually the closeness seems to be the worst while playing Call of Duty games as I really couldn't see the entire scene without turning my head.
This may have more to do with my eyesight and age.
My vision is turning more towards tunnel vision.

I have been watching you build your setup also, good start. 👍
