mindwise: i did a 1.56 within the 3 laps I used the car. Definitely more to be had

I hope that was not with the stock tuning ;)

I have to say, that last turn before start/finish must be 900 degrees, just like my wheel ;)

Hmmm, if only there was a real circuit with a 900 degree turn.....but then I suppose it would just be a layered car park then, not much of a race track unless they made it a very wide 900 degree turn.

Next showdown coming? =) If so I would like to be in race. Able to race for TLD this time? ;)

What !!!!!?????? Was the 888 Tune not up to standard ??

I´m IN!!! Don´t care whitch tuner... If I have the power to choose, it´s 888 then. Thank you. 👍
Happy to have you on board again.. :)

Once you are decided on a garage for this race are we all happy to release the tune to those people for some track time ??

Ooops,
Just before flying off Suzuka with the the new tyres, i thought i'd check back to see what car we should be driving (in the remote case someone needs me).
Then it hit me ;) , this was probably already discussed by you all, but for completeness:

The goal of these races is to find the best 'general tune' for a car right?
If that's correct, then shouldn't the drivers drive a race with each tune-shops tune?

Then in the end, the shop with the most points (or wins, or best overall place, whatever) can claim the 'Best tune for event/car'.

Ofcourse this complicates things a little bit, and i may be deadwrong about the goal, as the main goal is obviously 'have fun on the track'. Furthermore, i'm a newby here so i hope you can forgive me my n00b statements (and -driving and -tuning and well, that's enough pre-apologies i guess).

Overly enthousiastic,
mindwise

Your spot on mate.. you will see each tuning house release a Specific Tune for this race, to its drivers. This is the tune the drivers will race with, so effectively they are representing the tuning houses.

Changes cannot not be made to the tunes provided from each garage... at the end the Garage with the most victories is crowned winner of that challenge.

Where it will get interesting is when the Tuning shops start to pay the more "talented" drivers to represent their garage. At the end of the day it is all about winning !!! :)

Lol, yeah, but untill that time i guess we'll need to pay to get the setups ;)

Saw you for a couple of races yesterday mindwise, I was doing some preliminary testing with the Viper, to see how it handles itself online. I had to quit around 22:40 though, as I had to get up at 5:45 again this morning. :yuck:

When it's done. ;) I expect to release it after some more testing, ETD is somewhere this weekend (maybe Monday).

@ The Garages: when are your tunes being released 👍

Yeah as above, still intesting with a test pilot doing some tuning. For those who sign up to 888 I will be happy to release the tune via PM to then when its sorted unless the other houses have a prob with that ?

Waiting for that!! 👍 Hope it´s ok... So we could give feedback before the race?? :)

Sounds like great fun, if anyone needs a mediocre driver, i'd be happy to drive for any tuner.

But be warned, i'm not the best driver out there, my round times are :
Suzuka pp750 viper around 2:04/2:05 , and in the 600pp with a amuze350 around 2:18 (free-run) (trying to avoid being sacked after my first race ;))

Just wondering if any part of a tune is still open to personal preference (i.e. steering lock).

Well, i'll be fying off suzuka now to get to (less)gripps with the new tyre restriction.

Rgds,

For the sake of the challenge you must use the car exactly as given.:) The winner does not decide who has a better tune for that car. Things like rubber-banding and driver skill differences make such a decision impossible unless we did it old school, which I won't go in to detail on.

I will sign you with Dutch Customs if that's OK.:)

just took the car for a quick spin. Very difficult to get the power down on this car and the final set of corners at fuji really hurt this car. The inherent maximum torque from almost idle when setting the car to 600pp seems to not really help.

Probably still going to be difficult car to drive even with a tune but should be easy to get some more speed out of it. Looking forward to the fun in tuning so far.

I think this car is really going to benefit those with a wheel as you need a lot more throttle control.

1'56 is about what I got with a number of mess ups in the last few corners just like you, and that was with the stock settings except PP and gear ratios altered.

I'm in.

Sign me up for 888 again, NTSC. I'd be more than willing to switch if we need to balance out the drivers a bit.

Yes sir.

Sign me up for NTSC & 888 Tuning

Oh no's, 888 is outnumbering everyone again.:sly:

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it, but if I do I'll be racing NTSC for TLD.

Hope you do make it, take it home for TLD :sly:

@ The Garages: when are your tunes being released 👍

Tomorrow I hope.

Sorry my failure! I saw Saturday the 17th first PAL race, but now I see that was last week...........:ouch:

;)

Anything in the colour Magenta is a detail that has not been updated yet.;)

Oh, just so you know, I've found an easy and simple way of deciding who verses who in round 1. 888, AROSA and J-PaP, I'm thinking of a number between one and Holden 100. The one who gets the closest to that number gets to pick who they verse in round 1. The remaining 2 verse each other, so guess your numer!:sly:

No idea what you guys talking about?:ouch:

Anyways sign me up for 888 again, please .
Date has yet to be set , right ?

OK. Corect, date is yet to be set. I have a setup for the Viper, but I'll wait and drive it again tomorrow to be sure there aren't any handling issues I just "got used to" while tuning. Because of the low grip tyres I have learnt that big improvements aren't really an option. I might have shaved a second off the Fuji lap time and that's it. I also learnt that it's the same people driving at Fuji as it always was- idiots- so practice is really hard.
I at least want S3 tyres, come on PD, get you game face on.

[OFFTOPIC] I tried downloading the Nurburgring 24hr Introduction earlier, as it's something we don't get on TV in Australia. It became evident that what would take 5mins for someone else, would take 5hrs for me, and to top it off about an hour in it gets an error message. No video for me.:( [/OFFTOPIC]

I must have real sand in my eyes....I see Fuji :) darn I really have to practice. Since I'm online I've only driven Suzuka en rarely Fuji.

Fuji -> not driven a lot
Viper -> Slipperly, Torque, can I handle the power?
TLD -> Makes everything just fine

To make it a bit more challenging we could drive blindfolded :dunce:

I'm confident :nervous: well sort of ;)

Toilet can come in handy 👍

Like I said, I've made it a bit easier to drive, but overall due to the max grip level provided by the crappy tyres there isn't much time to be made in a lap. I'm retesting y setup tomorrow to see if I have overlooked anything just to be sure.

Hurry up and guess your number J-PaP :P

im in for this. sign me up for death customs NTSC.

FYI you might want to change the NTSC times. you got the finals race an hour before the division 2 race. my guess is you accidentally switched the 2 times seeing as you need a division 2 champ to race in the finals :sly:
