!!! Holy crap! I never knew a Chrysler would ever be this pretty!

Are we still in the dark about specs? Seeing what Ferrari and Fiat can get out of other engines, an 8L V10 seems quite tempting in the power they'g get out of that!

Well, considering it does come with slightly toned down F1 tech, it costs just right amount.

Doesn't work that way. It doesn't matter if it's a toned down warp drive, money is money.

Meh. Fine, keep your Fiat-Chrysler goggles on. We'll see how it does once the road and track tests start to come in. Until then, this car will be a disappointment to me.

None of that matters. Comparing a Viper to a Berlinetta is madness. Theyre not in the same class, prize range, anything..

You must be a 'Merican in disguise if a car is disappointing based on the HP figure alone.

Because it doesn't have the horsepower of say, an Aventador? I'm not getting it.

Who give a ****e if it's a Fiat! It's freaking gorgeous!

I don't see why you wouldn't compare them, either for fun or if you were seriously going to buy. Price doesn't really matter, as more expensive does not mean better, and although "class" is toss around a lot with cars, it can be a pretty vague term. I feel that is especially true in this case. Both cars have more or less similar performance, and GTS Viper is supposed have all the stuff that's going to help attract the kind of buyers that go for Ferraris, etc. I think's it not only a valid comparison, but I good one. But that's just my opinion.

I would compare the to also. thier both High performace GT's just one Cost less. Would you pay 130k for a ZR1 Vette over this Viper?? I say Hell to the no

I like how they made the styling more reminiscent of the old school Viper, with hints of the 2nd generation Viper. And while the back of the car looks reminiscent to the rear of the 90's Viper, the taillights appear to come directly from the Maserati Gran Turismo S, which makes sense actually.

Quote from Allpar about the Weight:Power Ratio

Track Pack takes another 57 pounds off for the lightest Viper ever, 3297 pounds, 5.15 lb/hp all together. Using dry weight, the Viper is at 4.91 pounds/horsepower, after Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari F12. Ahead of ZR1, Porsche 911 Turbo, Lamborghini Aventador.

Another Quote from Allpar.com

To tell you the truth, I am a little disappointed...

wait for it...

That they didn't also annoiuunce that they had run the thing at the Laguna Seca and set a new record. Screw the 'Ring this is an American car; Laguna doesn't need 7 minutes to test a car's mettle. Love the new Viper!!!

The Corvette is a fine car, but the ZR1 is already getting old. Strictly speaking, this Viper vs the ZR1 isn't "fair". However, I think I would go for the Viper anyway, as I tend to prefer them to Corvettes of the same generation. As far as Corvette's go, I actually like the Z06 more than the ZR1.

EDIT

To anyone who has Forza, a photo with the car in blue with white stripes would be awesome.

I agree with that, displaying your massive manly testosterone filled supercharger is a bit too self righteous for me. This Viper, well, damn right may be the first modern Chrysler I like!

I was thinking the exact same! The ZR1 just doesn't seem right in my eyes (for some reason). Personally the Z06 is my preferred Corvette for the same reasons. The ZR1 just feels overly dressed up but still not enough to seem like a true supercar. Of course, I am more towards the Viper. :dopey:

Too much Ferrari at the Front. But that Arse is sexy.

Best looking Viper for me, one of the best looking modern sports cars overall for me. Love her. Beautiful work Dodge!

Just noticed the ALMS Viper have a Forza logo on the side of it.

Agreed. It does look very good. Definetly better than the SRT-10.
But the front seems to be overkill.

I really like the sober and simple front of the GTS. Would've liked a modern interpretation of that.

I love the front because it combines everything I like from Alfa Romeo and Ferrari, minus the dullness. It still has that snake look, but at the same time also that "fragile", noble, European design. I also love that black part between the taillights, it gives the rear a classic US car note.

Yeah, but the Viper is not italian. It has to look clunky and aggresive. And that just looks like... an Ferrari.

And Ferrari is not a Dodge Viper. And you can't even argue about that, 'cause it's a fact

Maybe I will like the front (it doesn't look bad, just not Viper - ish enough) some time soon. Until then I will look at this glorious back end.

Well, I don't think it looks like a Ferrari, it just has some classic italian design elements. It actually reminds me a lot of Shelby's newer designs, or Callaway cars. A bit a mix between a Callaway C12 and a Mercedes SLS on the front.

Might've been a bad idea to make it red, should've been blue with the two white stripes and I bet no one would think Ferrari that fast.
