I'm curious, though, is that Viper really in that photo? Because if there's only one Viper currently, the promo car, then that car in the photo would be it, just painted a different color. I mean, the SRT Viper doesn't ship until the fall, so...I'm just curious about this Viper in this photo.

come on now.. use your brain... you have the Prototype for show, then you have Test Models for testing in different Environments like the recent Elevation Testing in Colorado.. Then youll have the Promo cars for Magazine Testing.

You're right. I looks like a 5th generation GTS.

And what's this about the SLS being on a Chrysler chasis? Really? I thought the decision to remake the Viper was a FIAT/Chrysler idea. I mean, it's been what 2 or 3 years since Diamler dropped Chrysler? Granted, the talk could have started with Mercedes, but I don't know. I don't see anything Chrysler about the SLS. I know the SLK and the Crossfire were pretty much the same car, but the SLS and Viper? Really? I thought the SLS and SLR were to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the SL line.

No, The SLS started as the Next Gen Viper before all hell broke loose. the 1st Prototypes of the SLS was a Viper.

I'll be there tomorrow. Can't wait to see it in action! It will be the first year I am not rooting for the Rissi Ferrari's.

Don't expect to much until the 2013 season, still it will be awesome to see the Viper back in action. It's good for the ALMS having another factory backed team in the series.

I can still hope for a 1-2 finish.

I haven't been this excited for a race in a while. When the GTS-R's originally left, it was like losing your home team. There wasn't anyone I really wanted to cheer for.

I wonder where most of the competition is going to come from. Viper's have been in heated rivalries with both Corvette and Porsche. And now there is Ferrari.

Don't expect it though, they weren't much faster than the Evora in testing..

Using the words "retro" and "classic" when talking about something that came out in 1996 makes me feel so old...

Just glancing at it for a quick second, it almost seems like a mix of the 2nd Gen. & the Coupe of the 3rd/4th generations. Which...isn't a bad thing at all. Love it.👍

I love the Shelby Blue with White Stripes. Great way to honor the man who helped start the Viper legend.

"Shelby Blue" is actually Royal Blue which is darker:

As said, thats Viper Blue being shown on the Viper.

The Viper and Vette are almost starting to mold into the same car visually. The Corvette started to look more like a Viper now the Viper is taking on some of the Vette elements. In a good way. :dopey:

Can't be sure about the Cobra colour, that one looks like is a replica.

Admittingly, I'm terrible at trying to differentiate the replicas from the real cars, but I was sure thats about closest to the color I was reffering to.

Somebody needs to shop some black wheels into that pic.

If I ever have too much money, I'll buy a GTS in that color scheme.

You should go for a get rich quick scheme, last time GTS Blue was a limited color option. I can't understand why. No other color comes close on this car.

I love this color scheme, in my opinion in previous gen Vipers it was the only way to go. But with this new body I like all the colors I've seen so far, the black with the black wheels looks wicked, the red Italian style is beautiful, and this blue/white stripes is classic muscle Viper. Also might add its the only body that looks just as good without stripes as with them. (besides the first gen RT/10)
