Buick isn't in a sales dump, at least not the company. In the US, sales seem to be slow & steady, but it is the top auto maker in China & given the population of China, the company is going to remain with a bright future.

I did forget about China, yes. Good point.

Chrysler ISNT the Luxury Car company of Chrysler. the 300 Will be the Flagship of Chrysler. Chrysler Isnt Competition for Cadillac, BMW, or Mercedez thats whats Alfa and Maserati is for. Its sole competitor is Buick, Acura, Linclon and or ther "Premium Mainstream" Companies

Chrysler is the luxury division of Chrysler (as in the stuff Fiat bought). And while it isn't at the moment competing with CTS's or S-Classes, I don't see why it couldn't. I'm also pretty sure that it was stated after the Fiat acquisition that Chrysler would try to compete with higher end brands.

You posted a article from 2009...

Chrysler was NEVER the Luxury Division of CHrysler... IMPERIAL was the Luxury Division of Chrysler which later Merged to create Limited Luxury cars under the Chrysler nameplate.. Chrysler Doesnt need to battle Mercedes or BMW. Theyll havbe a Flagship that would compete with Cars like the CTS (300) but as a Company. they are Buicks/Lincoln's/Acura's/Infiniti's/Volvo/VW competitors. Chrysler was/is all about Affordable Premium Style

It makes no Scenes to have Dodge as the mainstream Family oriented brand than Skip the Premium levels of Buicks strait to the Luxurious levels of Mercedes.

I'd think long term meant more than 3 years. Though if they haven't changed their minds yet, they're doing a lazy job, I'll admit that.

This happened after Chrysler was the luxury division.

The main issue I have is massive overlap between Chrysler and Dodge, though it has become better, and now they're dropping the essentially identical minivan.

How does that not make sense? And why can't Dodge cover mainstream and entry level luxury?

Chrysler so far has the least overlap of product out of the D3. The same person buying a 300 wouldn't think about looking at a charger. Two different personalities. Can't say that about the Tauras/mks or lacross/impala/xts and other Gm cousins.

dodge doesn't scream near luxury at all and it never had. It's like toyota covering both markets when they have Lexus for that.. It makes no sense. That's what Chrysler is and what theyll always be.

Well, everyone I know is the opposite on 300 vs Charger, including me, but whatever. However, what the other makers do does not matter. What matters is Chrysler's overlap.

Well, they can change Dodge. Again, I don't see why Dodge can't cover what Dodge covers now and what Chrysler covers now. It's not a big leap.

The last line about what Chrysler will always be is nonsense. Chrysler might not even be at all in a decade for all we know.

Here's something I found for Viper fans. Makes a nice wallpaper.

I don't care for Hennessey, never have and never will after what I've heard of him. I'm sure others also are in the same boat.

Which was what exactly?

Which was what exactly?

There are multiple accusations of Hennessey being a crook floating round on the internet as well as being an arse. I'm sure you could find them relatively easily.

Which was what exactly?
Along with the mentioned stories of being a crook (search some of his old threads at Viper Alley; business etiquette 101 there  ), he also has outlandish claims that he builds the fastest Vipers, or cars period, around.

In reality, most Hennessey customer cars are nowhere near as fast as he touts & over-priced.

BUt what about that 1000Hp Venom? the one that looks like a Lotus Elis LM GT1 car
Remains to be seen, honestly, though it's been promising so far & John has kept his mouth from over-hyping it.

Cars like the Venom Viper however, while fast, were not unbeatable by other high horsepower, modified cars. Same goes for his touted numbers on other cars like the Ford GT/CTS-V/etc. that he prices out for the kits; they can all be modified for much less & much more power.

You'd be crossing over to the dark side, though. :sly:

I've lusted over a Viper ever since I was kid! It's the one car I've always wanted. Hell, SRT10 Coupes are starting to be almost attainable, maybe in a few years and once the Vette is completely paid off.

I do agree, the more vents looks better but that wing has to go.

The stock Viper has 6 vents. The GTS has two. I think I like the GTS hood, but they're not all that different.

If the wing makes downforce, it's fine as far as I'm concerned. I'm waiting for the ACR to arrive. That had better have a huge wing.

I wasn't saying it was a bad thing it's there, I just think it makes the car ugly.

The comment wasn't aimed at you, but just in general.

I don't really think wings look bad though, but I'm biased toward anything that serves an aerodynamic purpose.

Yeah with that much power, you need all the grip you can get.

Still hate him though. :sly:

Wish you got the Viper/SRT10 in RHD and in the UK...not as if I'm going to buy it though, so never mind.

I really like the rear of this new viper. I'm also pleased to see the direction of development for the new viper. 👍

Yeah, that wing just looks weird on a car with such curvy styling.

I see, so the red Viper pics that we have been seeing is the GTS? I'll have the stock viper then. :D At least put a better shaped wing on it. This just looks like a flat old GT3 wing.

Yes, they've been promoting the GTS like crazy. Meanwhile the base car is almost being treated like a military black project.
