Friend brought UMvC over and I finally got a chance to play it. Totally like how Dorm can finally do ABCs.... That's all I have to say about it, other than that, I managed to win a good number of games on my friend who usually whoops my butt. No more Dante and Tron = HUGE relief for me... Now all I have to do is kill Zero off before he gets level 3.

Still not getting the game though. :P

Why not? Its basically like Street Fighter 4 to Super Street Fighter 4. I may get it after X-mas sometime.

If you want to think it like that. Super Street Fighter included balance change and 4-6 new characters. then it went to AE then to 2012..
Marvel to UMVC3 is new HUD, 12 characters, balance changes, X-factor changes, DHC glitch changed.

If you have MVC3 or achieved 30k in points. Its the same as getting colors 11-12 if you have SFIV memory.

So. My impressions about KoF XIII after playing it against someone?

Robert is quite a beast in this. I can't recall him being that crazy since '97. Certainly a lot better than he was in XI.

He is pretty good in 12 also though 13 is better andy is a beast as well I am trying to get good with clark though grab characters are usually not my thing lol

He's actually kind of scary. He still has actual fireballs, his Hien Shippuukyaku seems to work a hell of a lot better than Ryo's (because even though it is a charge move, the charge time is really low and he moves much faster when the move starts; and the way it works makes it more useful. Hell, you can even use the thing as anti-air!), and his Haoh Shokouken actually comes out fast enough that you can use it to punish fireball spam. The only nasty surprise I had using him in my matches was that his divekick is now heavily punishable on block when it wasn't before.

I miss Terry's DP Rising Tackle, though (because my team is usually some variation of Robert/Ryo, Terry and Leona/Kim). I know that I shouldn't have expected it to come back, but still.

JP release December 22, EU / NA release hopefully on way soon...

130+ characters?
Stage Creator?
Online co-op?
Massive story?
3 person tag team?
4 character categories?

🤬 YES!!!!

Why does every DW series type game seem the same to me?

Basic premise is the same, but play them and you get a different feel.

Take for example:

Samurai Warriors 3 (wii / ps3 JP version):

Base-directed objectives and strategies, and differing weapon rates.

Dynasty Warriors 7:

Two fully switchable customisable weapons, bows, spears, mini guns, swords, staffs... around 50 weapons all switchable... Fully functional base camps and interactive villages with seamless cutscenes.

Generally the series has made significant evolutionary gains, it just takes a while for it to be appreciated unless you are a hardcore fan.

Because it is lololol

 Even with the addition of the Gundam Dynasties Warrior which in my opinion, was a fail... :yuck:

Speaking of Gundam, have any of you guys played any of the Gundam VS arcade games? I am not sure if its ok to post it in here but it does claim to be as a 2 vs 2 Arena fighting game, but involving with mechas.

Haven't played a GvG game in such a long time but the newest was just released (Gundam Extreme VS) and I think It'll stop my streak of my consistent playing of GT5 for almost a year. Cant wait for it to come to my door. :grumpy:

Well I jumped online tonight to fight AOS. We had planned to use SSFIV, but I haven't upgraded to the Arcade edition, so we couldn't fight each other. Between that and my incompetency online (I only hooked my ps3 up for the first time the other day), we couldn't use SSFIV.

After about thirty minutes of failed attempts, I suggested we use SF IV. Que a 5 minute search for the disc. I popped the disc in and got ready to face AOS, only to be met with a "please install the latest version" screen.

Another 5 minutes later and we were finally able to fight each other. The fights were fairly close, but AOS always had the edge. I won 5 fights out of 22-25. Not a good statistic. To make matters worse, all but one of those was with my favourite character (ken). The other was with Sagat. Anyway, we were able to get some good fights in, but now my girlfriend wants to watch South Park with me, so I had to run.

Anyway, thanks AOS for your patience. And sorry, for the long loading times. I uninstalled SF IV as soon as I got SSF IV to make space on the HDD, so that would explain the long loading times. Thinking of upgrading to SSF IV:AE soon, so I'll let you know when I do(and put in a bit of practice before then).

👍

PS, the second time I chose Abel was a mistake. I was looking at your character select screen. You had highlighted Ken and I pressed X thinking it was me. :banghead:

I had a pretty good idea what I was in for when we talked a little earlier....

while I did fall for certain things (which weren't even gimmicks), I knew you were too used to fighting AIs. all this mashing of the shoryu's and random ultras are a terrible habit...

You also tend to keep jumping in at the beginning of the match which is how I kept kicking you out of it. :P

Use that step kick also... It's a damn useful tool for ken. As well as crouching medium kick xx hadoken. 👍

I have to re program to fight against humans. I can destroy my (offline) friends, but online, I've noticed that people that I can beat tend to get the best of me because they respond to patterns in my style.

I must say, you almost had an amazing comeback one time, but I got you on chip damage. Although I did manage to do three straight throws against you :sly:.

The other day, I was playing against a guy who was at the same skill level as me, but he was terrible at throw counters. I just started throwing him around all over the place.

Edit:
while I did fall for certain things (which weren't even gimmicks)

Really? Would you mind telling me what I did?

That was partially due to the lag... I know I OS tech'd it early enoguh to interfere your grab numerous times.

About that comeback, I was overthinking it at the end, was hoping you'd do something less obvious, but alas you didn't. I knew very well I could have ultra'd through the fireball on wakeup but I stuttered for said reason.

hmmm Terry Bogard says comon OK !!!!!!!! ( no I am not that good at KOF but I wanna get better by fighting real people lol)
