So, seems that they're matching the more expensive Europeans with that one.. It has same power rating as Evora S, Cayman R, BMW 1M and TT-RS..

They're not going after those. Chances are the Genesis Coupe will stillbe more Sports-GT than outright Sportscar. They just want to one-up the pony cars in pony count.

True, the Gen coupe ranges from 3300-3400lbs. I was speaking only about the horsepower count in my previous post.

According to Top Gear Philippines, this car won't be available here in the Philippines because its direction-injection technology isn't compatible with our local fuel.

Excited? Hold your horses. Remember that Hyundai Asia Resources, authorized distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, has said it can't bring the Veloster to the Philippines because our local fuels supposedly aren't compatible with direction-injection technology. With the same technology inside the new Genesis Coupe, could it mean waiting for the sports car is just as futile as wishing for the Veloster?
:( and :grumpy:

You can buy the Veloster as a Korean import from gray importers there, direct injection or not.

You just have to take your chances with possible fuel pump or injector issues down the line. Same with the Coupe. It's likely, though, that a detuned or non-DI Coupe will be made available for such markets.

I know. I keep on seeing them on the streets.

Also, Many people are complaining that other cars (specifically Europeans) are direct-injection and still sold here like the Mercedes C-Class CGI, BMW 135i and Audi A4 TFSI. Why can't Hyundai bring this here? 👎:(

:)this is indeed very interesting.between the genesis,mx-5 and gt86,affordable sports rwd cars are back!!! competition improves the breed:tup: waiting on nissan to make their move. While i agree the new fascia doesn't flow quite as well as the old,it is less bland.Love it or hate it u will look at it:sly:

That's a given. It's a heeyuoondey.
The slits/vents in the hood just add to the weirdness of the front. I'm not sure what they were thinking but the kiddies will like it.

I'll go for the turbo 4. Smaller engine, less weight, better fuel economy.

Plus I can say I got a turbo to the ladies in my failed attempts at wooing them.

Looks like our newest car...now if only I could talk my wife into buying it a twin.

I've called the latest Elantra as "the most gorgeous Korean car ever" with their own 2007 Tiburon being second most gorgeous. Well, there's a new first place- the 2013 Genesis coupe. Dear God- the 2013 Genesis is absolutely beautiful in my eyes. However, my only knock is that the interior could have looked a LOT more better to match the loveliness on the outside.

Must be speaking volumes if you say a country's most beautiful cars are all from one company. Even more so speaking of South Korea and Hyundai.

Good God... that Genesis coupe (Post #409) is spectacular! This car has to be one of the first-ever Korean GT cars. Maybe even THE first GT-spec Korean car. I'm pretty sure Austech Motorsports know that the heck they were thinking using the Genesis as a basis for a GT car. I now need to imagine seeing this car in proper racing livery. So I'm sure we'll need people like RACECAR or somebody in case we start seeing (especially) someone models this car for games like rFactor or iRacing. Or maybe we see some REAL liveries for this car to see what this would look like in sportscar racing.

I'm hoping it actually comes through and we start seeing these cars out on the track. I've seen people release plans for race cars before, then they fall through.

2013 Gen Coupe pricing:

Autoblog.com
We likewise have pricing information to report for the refreshed 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, which will start at $24,250, again not including $875 in destination charges. That's for the four-cylinder 2.0t model with a manual transmission, while the upper bound on pricing is represented by the 3.8-liter V6-powered Track model with the new eight-speed automatic transmission that costs $34,250.

R-Spec surcharge isn't that bad. Probably the sweetest spec of all is that 3.8 R-Spec.

Who cares about power potential... give me revs! Give me noise!

The track spec is the most equipped obviously. I wonder if they brought over the new camber bolts and all the little things they made new for the first R-spec.

So it's going to be a bit of a porker, then. Shame.

The general shape of that is nice enough, if a little generic. I get a combination of Infiniti and Aston DB10 vibes, with a take on Mercedes' three-dimensional grille treatment. I still like the current car, so I wonder how much of this one will translate to the next generation.

I'm interested to see the looks, but when I was shopping around for an FR coupe the BRZ only just won out over this. With AWD it wouldn't even make my list, but I guess that's just me personally. It always kind of occupied that range where it was lighter but less powerful than the Mustang, but heavier and more powerful than the BRZ/FRS or Miata. Now there's a half-ton void between the Mustang and Sciobaru.
