Now watch Hyundai be like Lexus was when Lexus and MillenWorks made that huge stink about the IS430 they made all those years ago.

BREAKING -> This is it, 2013 GenCoupe is here:

^ Not bad at all, me likey! 👍

It has too much, "Hey, look at me, I'm like a GT-R that had an accident with an extruder," look to it.

The ones shown at SEMA looked 99% like that, to me. The hood might be different, ionno. I'm guessing HYUNDAI is denying it cause they want more buzz at next week's official reveal.

I saw it somewhere. Might've been AB. There was a dark shot of the front end.

Scrap that. I think I was wrong. Can't find it anymore.
Sorry brofurkey.

Even if that's the real one, I really hope they fix the side-rear windows... The curve is just disturbing to me. It's like, well it goes allright then a curve going down as if the designer sneezed while designing and accidentally clicked 'Approve!'

The dip in the side windows is one of the design cues I've always liked. It's a way of giving rear occupants (and the driver) a little (very little, but hey, it's the thought that counts) more visibility while still having that execrable rising belt line that every car must have nowadays, for some reason.

At least, I like it better than those stupid retro rear-roof kinks whcih not only look awkward, but create blind spots the size of a horse.

I'm guessing you mean the Hoffmeister Kink on the BMWs?

Hoffmeisters actually improve rear-view. I'm talking about these:

Which you see on the GT-R, the 370Z, the FJ Cruiser and the Mini Countryman, as a homage to the thick rear pillars seen on cars of 60's vintage.

Mini basically acknowledged the idiocy of this design detail by notching it out on the Countryman...

A little retro to maintain the family look is cool. Hopelessly pandering retro, wherein they copy design cues that weren't unique to the car but representative of a design flaw of every single car of the time is uncool.

Yup. My car has something similar. Plays hell with rear visibility. When I'm backing out of a parking space it looks like I'm listening to that Willow Smith song...

 You don't know how hard I'm laughing because of this

Anyway, thanks niky for explaining. Now I see what you what you mean and yes it is very thick and it must be very hard to reverse back the car...

Unfortunately, the "cheeky" foglights are standard items on the entire fluidic design range.

I'm digging the lights and grille... just wish the fogs matched.

The new looks is pretty good. Looks sporty like the Veloster (its front fascia even look like the Veloster). Let's hope that there is more changes than for cosmetically purposes. You get what I mean? 💡

-> ...
^ That very pic looks like it had been rendered by PD! ~lol wut~ :boggled:

BT -> The front facia looks very decent. After I saw the Veloster last week, these 'radical' front facia doesn't look as bad as what most people might think. I like it! I really do hope that Hyundai Boys can upgrade its 2.0T just in time for the FT-86/FR-S/BRZ/Celica/Toyobaru/Subieyota/etc. it will be a nice 'n juicy fight!

Wow, that last pic actually looks pretty hot. Just needs a couple of geometry tweaks and it would be great.

The front doesn't flow into the rest of the car well at all. The original front was somewhat boring, but at least it wasn't ugly/fussy. I'm hoping it works better in real life.

It's like they took the previous Gen, slowly (but carefully) drove it into a brick wall until it got that flat in the front and called it the new look.

The 3.8 V6 gets a power upgrade. :D Not sure about the 2.0 turbo.

I really like the new look, much nicer than the current model. 👍
