Your specs say 1 bar and finishes spooling by 6,000rpm, but the dyno chart says 1.18 bar and finishes spooling ~6,800rpm.;) That's an awesome power curve btw.👍 Who knew the Koreans were so good at tuning, they just needed to produce their own decent car to do it.:sly:

Well, they're not THAT far from Japan.

Of course, with this in the "news," I thought this was from the factory. Turns out it's not. Dissapointed? Yes.

Mexico's not THAT far from USA either.;) I just never knew Korea had such an aftermarket scene going.:)

Holy crap, i had not seen the interior before. That center console is monstrous! The steering wheel and a/c vents are pretty bad, too.

Woop.

Not, it's not monstrous, that's not the steering wheel, and yes, the AC vents could be better but from what I saw at the auto show they weren't bad, nor did they freeze my knuckles.

This is the interior of a GT

The only thing I really hate is that the steering wheel doesn't telescope. I really hope they put that feature on the next model year.

You have to push up on the auto's manul select mode to shift up? That's wierd, a lot of people complain about that because it goes against the G forces when shifting up while accelerating and shifting down while braking.

Maybe just a few people? I can't see many people complaining about that especially in an auto car.

I don't think the G forces will be strong enough to make the car more difficult.

In fact, it makes more sense that "+" is "up", and the higher gears are forward. The GTI has plus going up, and I have had no issues with it at all.

Not our fault everyone does it backwards, including the Germans. Chrysler's left-right setup is nasty too ><

I wish the V6 had a little better performance. Because I would LOOOVE to sit in that cockpit on a daily basis. Hopefully theres nice software for the 2.0.

I would always be selecting the wrong gear the way the Gen auto has it, but then again I wouldn't because I wouldn't get a auto model.

I remember the Australian car mags complaining about it in the VE Commodore when it came out, can't say I've driven a car like that myself..........

Same in the TL. The only thing you really shouldn't do is use it to downshift constantly. Other than that, it's fine.

It's just that it's not the typical "racy sequential tranny" way of pulling back on the stick to upshift and pushing it to downshift.

We've got 2 Genesis on the lot here at work, a V6 and a 2.0T. I would drive them, but unfortunately they are both autos, so I'll hold off on that until we get a manual one to drive.

Does yours automatically downshift at reasonable speeds? DSG will let you cruise at ~25 in 6th gear, so I treat mine like a manual that just doesn't have a clutch pedal.

It seems like most new cars lack that feature anyway, which is unfortunate. One thing I noticed from your pictures is that it makes the doors look a lot more plasticky than they actually are, but, you can tell where they saved some cash on it.

I dropped by the local Hyundai dealer to see if they had any extras in. They moved the 3.8 Track off the showroom floor, and it was nowhere to be found at the dealer. But, seeing as how no one talks to me whenever I'm there looking for the car, I'm pretty much giving up on this dealer to do anything right - ever.

Paulie is right about the shifting direction being backwards. Every race car ever made with a sequential transmission pulls back to upshift and forward to downshift. Paulie's reasoning sounds pretty solid to me. Any car company who does it any other way is trying way to hard to be different, and failing miserably at it.

They moved the 3.8 Track off the showroom floor, and it was nowhere to be found at the dealer.
They probably sold it or traded it to a different dealer and just haven't gotten any replacements yet.

I think that this think seems to have too much power. If you think about it...500hp in a Hyundai? The figures just don't add up.

You're right it's not that big; but it gets the illusion that it is, because it's a solid piece colored differently from the rest of the interior. But overall i actually like the inside. That black and orange combo is nice.
