Any car company who does it any other way is trying way to hard to be different, and failing miserably at it.
Unfortunately for you they are all like that, so they're actually being the same as everyone else.

The only stock car I've driven that you pull back to shift like a normal race car was a Toyota MR2 Spyder, and that was actually a sequential transmission, not those automatics that you simply control when it shifts.

I think that this think seems to have too much power. If you think about it...500hp in a Hyundai? The figures just don't add up.

That's not a production model...

EDIT: Seems you've never driven a newer Mazda then, PB.

All Fords do it the G Force/race car way as well.

New video of the 500hp Autz car:

It's racing an E55, apparently. I like how it makes the speedo look like he's driving in a vacuum.

Here's the dyno graph:

That's like 507hp and 450ftlbs of torque.

RMR Dynos their competition car:

Dont know what it makes, but it sounds amazing. Check it out in HD quality on youtube for superb picture. It was shot on a 5D Mk.II.

Korean tuners Young Motorsports have also defeated the speed limiter and made 300kmh easily on a load dyno.

And apparently this is what happens when you push the 2.0 turbo 4-banger to 460hp:

Looks like Beyond Redline's car, which has already blown up at around 300hp and has since had the engine rebuilt. I have a feeling the turbine got too hot for the surroundings. That or it just straight up exploded.

If it burns... that's just stupid installation... poor routing of fuel and/or oil lines and loose fittings.

If it spews chunks of metal through the block, head and hood... then that's the engine.

460 hp? Pretty impressive for an engine not built to the same standards as the EVO block.

Exactly, serious engine failure (mechanical) doesn't look like the cause.

Crazy.

Some people are getting some pretty good power out of the Genesis.

The Genesis is a pretty good looking car... I considered it for a while before I end up choosing the MS3.

I'm pretty fond of this one, myself.

Note: Fast forward to 1:55, 2:44, 3:40, 4:30, & 5:00 in the video.

I don’t know where this build orginated from (Sources say Autz in Korea, but I can’t find anything about them) but I’m seeing threads for it made on a bunch of websites like GenCoupe and LowMotion - what we have here is another member with the V6 model with an aftermarket turbo bolted on. This particular one has a rebuilt engine with forged internals to be able to make a very healthy 504PS (496HP) to the wheels. We’ve mirrored the pictures here, but if you have any more news or information on this build please let us know! Click “Read more” to see all the details along with dyno chart, dyno video, and more pictures!

Not fire related, but that fuse box right next to the turbo looks like a bad idea to start with.

This. I was thinking about taking my car to these people for parts installation and tuning. After seeing this configuration and the oversight to simply relocate that fuse box. I facepalmed. Seriously. Melted plastic does burn. Fuel line fitting? Please. That would have failed immediately. This would have happened once they took it out on a track and got the temps up enough to liquefy that fuse box. This looks too obvious what the problem is.

It doesn't get that hot, if that were true all the other lines and hoses sitting right on top of the piping would be melting long before that. Not to mention the valve cover itself is plastic.

Talked to a dealer today, ended up leaving due to the extremely high amount of BS he spewed.

First off, he tells me there is no Premium 2.0T model, just base & track, and that the R-Spec isn't confirmed.

Second, he tells me I'm better off with a 2.0T track model because it has better modding potential. He then goes on to tell me he race cars for a living (the hell you selling Hyundais for?), and that he has a black 2.0T track with 470Whp and that he only threw in $8-900 for a bigger turbo & exhaust. I said that's pretty cheap, but he has connections apparently, and that the car was being worked on right now, so I couldn't ask to see it.

I just told him to skip the paperwork & I'll think about it, which means, I'll go to Plano where they don't BS me.

Yeah, that's completely BS. Nobody has broken 400hp with a 4-banger except for Beyond Redline, and their car is the one that went up in flames.

I would get a track instead of a premium though. This way, you get the brembos and the LSD. It's just too bad the track has that fugly red/black interior.

I'm really trying to work at getting a 3.8 Track, but no one has one in stock! Apparently, they are wanted by many. :dopey:

But, I did see a white 2.0T track, and it looks gorgeous with those 19" wheels with the big Brembos standing out.

Oh, and if you get the brembos then look for some replacement brake pads. The OEM pads are milled off at the corners as a ghetto korean way to prevent squeal.

Well, its better than my Hyundai dealer not knowing a damn thing about the car at all. I'd ask to see different models, have questions about the equipment, etc and he would have to ask other people. A major disappointment. When he took me off the showroom to go and find the 2.0T with a stick (the only car they had with a stick), I could tell he was trying to get me to play the waiting game to see if I wanted it or not. I wasn't in the mood for games, so I left, and went to the Ford dealer instead.

Hey, I like red/black interiors on sports cars.

Now, the LSD is just required for a real sports car to be, well, proper sporting.

Yeah but the track has red cloth and black cheap/thin leather bolsters. If you want the real, good leather you need to get a V6.

He's right. I sat in a 2.0T Track model, and the interior doesn't even look that good compared to the Si. It's a shame that exterior color of the car seems to dictate the color inside though, or that's how it is according to Build site.
