DFGT or G27 at this point. If you still can get your hands on G25, it's great value too.. 👍 The pedals are a bit week on DFGT though so you won't regret getting a G2x

If I were you now, I'd go with G25.

What does "the pedals are weak on the DFGT" mean?
They break? Or they don't work as well?

The pedals on the DFGT are extra special shocking. I cannot believe that Logitech did not upgrade the pedals to G25 level for the DFGT.

Thanks for the effort! The mouse roll over is showing the gap to the No 1 is a very nice addition! 👍

Amazing work :)
Thank you very much for all the effort

I'm 252 :/ in rest of the world ranking using SIXAXIS directional buttons.

Big thanks for the great work from my side as well! 👍
Makes it a lot easier to check how bad I really am

Offtopic here but I'll give you my two cents worth in this thread nevertheless:
I think weak means this (at least that was what I found weak about them): they have play and they do not have proper spring strength. BOTH issues are easily MacGyverd: open the pedals and glue little pieces of wood on the areas where the springs rest. This gives them more pre-load => play gone and more resistance. I put twice the amount under my brake, thus now having a solid brake which feels good and gives confidence. (I drove at a friends house once with non modified pedals and agree: silly from Logitech to offer this)

is it confirmed that the g25 will be playable in gt5 or should i play it safe and get the driving force

Post one updated to list the added functions. 👍

Big Hearty Thanks again everyone for the great feedback!
And a nice xmas to y'all! :)

Merry Christmas to you as well Tim, I hope the new year brings you as much joy and happiness as 2009 has.

Your ongoing efforts have been tremedous for this community

As for competing online, don't go fading into dust y'hear? ;)

All the best
Maz

from my experience with the GT pedal's i personally find them to be good. However i've not experienced the pedals on a G25 for comparisons sake.

Ren, how easy is it to do that fix ?

Since it works without problems in the demo I would be very surprised if it didn't work in the final release.

It's really simple! Cutter, little pieces of thin wood, plastic, whatever, instant glue, done.... if you don't have two left hands with only thumbs on them no prob at all! BUT: do yourself a favour and just get the g2X, it's a by far superior device! (I know because I've drooled over it a couple times in shops) Prob is Africa charges insane prices for 1st world type articles (TV, Internet, Wheels ). They want to charge over ZAR3000 for it, that's like a EUR280 range :yuck:. If you can get it, get it! Or even better a Fanatec, but carefull I read a lot about issues atm). For me, coming from the Momo's from the PC the DFGT is a rather plasticy cheap feeling device.

Edit: Oh sorry, should have read your post completely and properly... seems it's too late for the "do yourself a favour..." part. Open the peadles and you'll see it's a piece of cake. 30min and your back in action with solid pedals!

Merry Christmas to y'all!!!

I had to laugh, since there's almost as many GTP tags in front of me as there are total Americans. :D

There's like 3 Americans in the top 150... that seems to be accurate lol :D

I need to log in more laps, im a disgrace to D1. I've only turned atleast 20 for both specs :D too much Mordern Warfare and Battlefield.

if the prize was bigger .. you would see more americans for sure ;)

btw i love battlefield .. its so funny :D

Is it silly to get a wheel if you don't have a proper cock-pit or table?

Well, for 8 months now I've had my wheel attached to a plank of wood which sits on two shoeboxes, and those shoeboxes sit on two chairs.

So, yes, it is silly but it's not impossible :D

If you want it badly enough like I did, you'll find a solution 👍

Merry Christmas to everyone at GTP

Thanks Maz, you know I'm not into hotlapping myself (though I find this competition quite interesting to follow, rather obviously ;) but I found myself doing a few laps in the Ford GT yesterday. (Fun! And this midship engine car suits me a lot better than the Z, which I find a bit of an uninspiring drive to be honest, despite the palpably enhanced subtlety of the TT demo's physics.)

Anyway, the gtdb tt pages have been updated again: if you're logged in and made it onto the leaderboard displayed, hovering displays other records' gaps to yours.

Clicking a row makes it assume this pivot role. If your record isn't visible, the pivot defaults to the current #1 record as before.

Merry christmas, kippis

I would like to thank ZABEU on behalf of BTH_team that he tought about our small Hungarian team. We are very happy to know that you are counting on us.

PS: If you wish to extend the number of attending teams I would suggest WGP_team. McLarensucks, pym, Doctor, Chikyio, Pereto and the othert are very good racers.

Thanks again for the work you doing :)

I just found out that it's the combined top 20 in the Nordic countries that competes in the 'national' final. So maybe you want to combine them again? or have both options? Don't think there is a Nordic flag to use for that.

Also, it's only 1 from this national final that goes to Silverstone - cheering for you Timppaq!!! 👍👍👍

Thanks mate will do my best for sure and in the end the best man will win again 👍 More importantly I hope the afterparty will be good.. :D and I'm sure it will. Kippis!

I'd love to see every time registered. I want to know where I rank in the world (it isn't 500, obviously)

Nice to read such a post because I'm interested in that kind of stuff too ;)

Since on SONY page there is only 250 best drivers from every country I think it is impossible to create a real global ranking ( I think SONY has such a thing somewhere on their servers ;) ) but it is possible to combine these 250 fastest drivers into one 5000 people ranking.

I have done such a thing using zabeu page and Open Office excel ;)
Unfortunately I can not paste it into forum post. (well I do not know how ;) )

(I have even created such a thing for every time from GT5:P registered on gtrp [tens of thousands lap times and thousands fastest drivers put into pivot tables, separated into countries/total/region with points system for best 300 times in every car/track category - everything ;) then "print screened" into jpg files...;) but I didn't post it onto forum and I do not know why I didn't.. I was afraid of people reaction I think (or just shy ...) ;)]

Back on topic:
My times are
1'38.423
1.50.859

I am currently (as of 30.12.2009 2.33AM CET ;) ) 3317 out of 4924 drivers
(this is where I could use info on steering used by players if only SONY would provide it in their tables :/)

SrRd-RacinG you are 2281

PS Example of a table I have done for GT5P

It turns out GT is the most popular in Finland :)
Being GT player in INDIA means you most likely not meet a person from your country online... ;)

Regions should be good now...

This is all as of June 2009 and I do not remember why for example there is no China in my table... we should ask GTRP probably ;)

Population info taken from CIA fact book page.
