Its strange... It doesnt have anything to do with the real numbers:idea:!

Dont know about this table...it says there are 7 hundred or so players in Holland, but i know for a fact there are several thousands allready who have done laps here...

Also it says:submitted laps 3600,and than average submitted laps by player 4600...???..

Are all these numbers correct,or is this an old table,or not a finished one??...

Its interesting though...

Exactly my thoughts. No way there are only 800 players in Holland. But I totally respect your effort because I'm also curious 👍

Thanks Rudi for the tip 👍

so, the big question is does that just mean the Japanese overall, or the Global overall.

Hey dudes,

Firstly I'd like to say thanks to Tim for such an awesome leaderboard. I love it!!!!!

Also just realised that a fellow aussie is 2nd in the world!!!!!!

Anybody know DHolland's username on the forums? I think he's my idol. <3

?

There are only 4924 players in the world?

4924 drivers who ever made it to top 250 in both cars category and therefore got registered on SONY www page and appeared on zabeu page.

Lotrzyna.. where do you get this info??

It is data taken from gtdb (GTRP) with their permission - it is as of first week of June 2009, it is about GT5P so you might have put some more laps since then.
But your number of laps was then 23 (which means as of then you have ever been in top100 23 times (23 track/car combinations) it gave you 24267 points (I have used my own points system - extrapolation of IFTC system to best 300) and position #578 out of 28928 players who ever made it to top100. #1 was then GTRP_hakru with 642395 points I was 1116 with 13589 points ;)

(horde you were 146 back then with 72 laps and 63855points - you are from Portugal right ? IRT team ?)

Its strange... It doesnt have anything to do with the real numbers:idea:!

It does but only for drivers who ever made it to top100 in GT5P ranking and therefore got posted on SONY www page and therefore appeared in gtdb.

So if there is X players in an Y country but only Z players ever made it to top 100 at list once (they could go down later but have been registered by gtdb already (do not know how long they would have to be in top 100 though - do not know how often gtdb imports data from SONY www page is it daily or weekly?..) there will be Z as a #of players in my tables.

Again - players who ever made it to top100 (read above)

And about the numbers - I have used , instead of . as a separator of integer part so numbers are rather... right

I have changed the table in previous post.

This is for Japanese players only (people residing in Japan being exact)

Ahhh,ok...so this is about GT5P...

Or am i mistaken again?...

Yes that table is about GT5P

Thanks again guys, regional standings are planned. In the meantime - if you're logged in at gtdb and have entered your name correctly -,

http://gtdb.net/?tt/mine

will locate your position among the global collection of records - not just the top 500 - and display the top records and skip to yours among your closest competitors. A notice at the top of the page will inform you if your record could not be found.

Another notice at the bottom of the page will display the cutoff time: since regional records are cut off at the 250th entry, times slower than the best regional 250th record are only indicative of, but not true to actual global ranking. At the time of writing, this time of 3'26.545 corresponds to position 1,267 (and I'm sure you can guess which country it comes from :D).

(Copied from first post edit.)

Thanks also everyone for the great entertainment that following this competition is!
, Tim

How does it work ?
Is it an official cooperation with SONY?
I'm asking because your page asks about our sign in id (e mail) and password...

i would love that GT5 version too...what a shame.. :(

@Tim: just wonder if global rankings by car is in your plans... only wonder... :D

Thanks guys for the kind words and congratulations on your impressive performances!

You really did get me thinking about how to do rankings by individual lap time now, MAY. :D But it might not be possible within reasonable limits on effort, now that the whole thing has been built based squarely on the total time.

In any event, the display of individual competition regions is back and accessible from the page itself. It's got its own little menu like the countries had (and still have), and while we were at it, team tags got the same treatment.

Thanks again and good laps to y'all

Separate rankings for normal and tuned car would be the icing on the cake.👍

I hope you have the time to do it.

I've been going to your site a lot the last few days. I love stats:dopey:

Thanks for all the effort!

eheh.. you just made it..

THANK YOU :)

edit: that's amazing.. now we have a better perspective.. JP guys seam to be running normal car mostly at this time.. what will happen when they rush with the tuned!?! :scared:

You are quick MAY!

What he said: you can now sort all tables by individual lap times. Just click the column header labeled "race", "road" or "total" to switch views.

It's still based on the tables with the total times, so if there's somebody somewhere sitting on a blistering lap in only the road or the race car but none in the other you won't find him here.

Thanks & good luck!

Incredible work Tim, this is a real service to the community

Is there a way I can see #41 to #108 on the tuned car leaderboard? I can't access those at the moment.

All the best
Maz

i was refreshing the page every second... cause i knew you would do it :D
Thanks again ... you're a top guy 👍

we'll see more of this at the end of the competition for sure

Amazing! The quality of the GTdb is now unmatched! 👍 👍

Thanks Tim for the time you've spend on this and even though I know you're a handy chap with this sort of things - thanks for all the effort you've seen. I don't even want to know what you need to know to do this kind of thing. Thanks a lot mate!!

and it's clear I need to work on the normal car first thing next year :D

BTW, the official rule is that if there is a tie, the normal car time decides the order. So maybe you can add that "rule" as there seems to be ties everywhere already :) 👍

I am 300 places higher on the normal car leaderboard than the tuned. I know where I need to focus.

Once more Zabeu, super work.

Thanks again guys, it's a great pleasure to make something so well-received!

Another update (post one updated as well) brings the "mine" functionality to all views: if you're logged in and your record is found in the dataset displayed, at the top of the table there'll be a notice informing you of your placement, along with a link to bring your position into view (it doesn't scroll automatically anymore).

Maz, the gap in the table you observed was caused by some unfortunate choices I made in the "mine" function. It's fixed now. And: great performance mate, keep it up! 👍

Timo, great minds ... ;) I started to think about how to resolve ties too (MAY has a way of pointing out things, doesn't he), but for the time being the sorting will be by total time, then driver name (lame, I know) except for the competition area view, which will preserve the order found at g-t.com. (I guess I don't need to say how impressed I am by your performance in this TT, do I? 👍)

Absolutely brilliant work Timzab, the board is my first stop in the morning and last stop before going to bed, and a million points inbetween :P

Still waiting to see you kick some DE ass

All the best
