have you seen the mercs front wheels twitching like their having a fit at 28 secs?? its actually the part that is shown in the pic above

đź‘Ť

The same thing happened in the Ferrari 458 video. Very cool little addition, wonder if it'll make the steering wheel twitch in the in car view?

I think it's caused by a dualshock controller (D-Pad). I think the trailers are based off of replays of races PD recorded at their studios (while the driver used his D-pad as shown in the replay).

Could be something else though.

I know, it was a joke , you're right, they do turn right every once in a while.

Just look at the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway race last Sunday and watch Carl Edwards, even though the track only has left turns he was able to turn right long enough to wreck Brad Kesslouski! HAHA!

Because laughing at people, yet not pointing out what the hell you're talking about makes your statement so helpful.

I've seen you post this for pages, yet you haven't pointed out what you're talking about.

Because he and a couple of others posted like that "road" (whatever it is) is something new we havent seen before. Im just surprised that there are really GT fans registered here who havent seen that trailer.

This is the same trailer that journalists saw back in September according to Gameblog.fr the same that did the PD's studio tour but apparently they cut the rainning part of the trailer that one of them initially saw :

"(JulienC : je vous confirme les avoir vues chez Polyphony en septembre dernier lors de notre passage dans les studios. Au passage, cette vidéo incluait initialement les effets de pluie. Ils seront probablement dévoilés prochainement)."

(JulienC : I confirm you that I saw them(pics) at Polyphony Digital back in September during our last studio's tour.By the way, that video initially included rain effects. They will probably be unveiled soon"

Maybe thats the strange "other version for Europe"? Bit less NASCAR, a bit rain?
That would be fantastic...

Eh, stupid speculation.

They also say autumn release for Europe
I trust them but 🤬 no! I'm so disappointed.

Or it could be the AI driver seeking the perfect grip?

Bold suggestion! :scared:

Seems plausible, but it's a really inefficient way of doing it - unless the grip is subject to change at a moment's notice... đź’ˇ

Another possibility: maybe it's "dither" in the replay, i.e. it's not updating the wheel angle as often as the car's attitude (3-axes), so it predicts it? Can't imagine why, though.

Or it could be that the physics engine is glitching or something. Who knows.

Did you guys notice in the GT Academy replay videos that exactly when the replay started the wheels weren't quite where they should be but they soon jumped to their place?

And also when stationary and revving the engine the wheels would jitter about a bit?

I noticed that the wheels would "ping" into place, yes. I actually saw it as a good sign! Firstly because it shows the suspension has movement in all directions - perhaps useful for damage modeling? (e.g. misaligned / broken links etc.) and basically because the engine really has been re-written.

I haven't seen the jitter, though. Can't check now :(

Yes and you should also check the SLS Stuttgart demo videos, right at the start, the front wheels from the cars shake all at the exact same spot.

That night track looks like SSR5 to me. The section with the SLS coming out of the tunnel might be an updated version of this part of the track (highlighted in green). If I remember correctly, the road goes down and up so they might have added a small tunnel to give a fresh look of the track.

Also, this screen shows (IMO) the part where the track goes over itself with the highlighted part in green below .

I agree, the night track is a re-vamped SSR5, the bit you highlighted is correct. This ground shot shows a dip in the road, directly under and almost perpendicular to an overpass.

This shot shows an overpass, and road with a dip under the overpass, again the road is almost perpendicular to the overpass.

The track map you posted, shows an apparent cross road, which as we know is an over pass and an underpass, unsurprisingly, it also shows that these cross almost perpendicular to each other.

So, if this is SSR5, then you would expect to see a dip in the road, at the point the underpass goes under the overpass, in previous versions of the track.

if you watch the video, at 0:21 the Supra is just about to pass under the overhead part of the track, sure enough, there is a little dip in the road at the exact same point.

In my eyes, that seals it. It's seems that is a bigger dip in the new version of the track and there are significant changes to the surrounding buildings and the layout of the overpasses above, and I must say, the new SSR5 looks incredible. I would also like to note that I agree that part of that overpass section is one of the roads of to the clubman section of the track.

Just seen it. Anyone know what city the circuit with the giant hairpin in front of the palace is? I'm guessing it's Madrid.

I'm thinking that too because the Ferrari 458 Tribute has the same thing at some point in the video too. Thats what I thought, caused by using directional buttons or something.

The 458 had nearly 20 seconds of straight footage (from 1:40-1:56). Once that was over, the Enzo has its moment for 5 seconds (2:10-2:15) Then the 458 appears again (2:16-2:18). Kaz <3's Ferraris!

Seems like in this trailer, we're already seeing tracks from past GT games back and revamped. We already had a Revamped High Speed Ring in GT5P (well going back to GT4 actually) and now we have Rome Circuit and SSR5(and CSR5). I hope this means older tracks like Red Rock Valley make a come back.

They were all in GT4 except for this new Rome track. It's unlikely we will ever see Redrock Valley Speedway again. A great track that was indeed.

maybe theres is no big fan of drifting here, but i notice something thats never tell before in this thread.

Did you see how realistic the smoke effect seems to be at 41 sec.

I hope is not an animation, and its part of the game :ill:

i noticed that too but I doubt it will look like that when the game is finished

Would be awesome though:sly:

Maybe, seems like the result of D-pad tapping. I've played prologue for almost six months with a DS3, and the replays looked exactly like that.

But why would you play with the d-pad?

If you don't have a wheel and only have a DS3, sometimes keeping the car in the track on a straight is easier by tapping the D-Pad than the sticks. Furthermore there are people that never got used to the sticks and still use the D-Pad to this very day. PSOne legacy (and possibly some system before it).
