Goodwood Hill Climb confirmed to feature in Gran Turismo 6! + Videos

This is excellent news. :D

Would be nice to see the Goodwood rally and Goodwood Circuit included with the Hillclimb.

Nice track, now I understand why folks wanted this - very little room for mistakes...except for the hairpin where there's just enough apparently :sly:

Even if tracks are confirmed for GT6 it doesn't mean they are going to be in first day release. I'd be very surprised if Bathurst isn't DLC. It's a big track that takes a lot of work, far more than a rework of Apricot Hill for example. To give something like that away with the game would be mighty generous, but would sure make for popular first month DLC...other than to a handful of players that is..
True, I suppose we won't know for sure until the actual release, or maybe slightly beforehand. In connection to the amount of work, the 'Ring had a lot of work done to it with day/night too, so I'm holding out hope that Bathurst will be in from the start :)

...Options in lobby could include fastest lap over a time period. Further options could include setting the grid via lobby points (like the other game does). Before you know it you have the means to have online quailifying...
GT5 already has the qualifer option already from hotlap times...okay, it mostly doesn't work, but that could well be fixed this time. If championships stretch to include online, I'm guessing this will be the case.

...Now, why is it called "Goodwood Hill Climb" when there's no hill to speak of and therefore no climb...? :odd:
No idea - chalk it up to one of those quaint terms I suppose. There is more of the hill evident in the rally track - so maybe the elevation is there but it just seems less obvious.

Because that leaves the four DLC tracks from GT5 with nowhere to fit into the 33 number and Spa was seen in the GT6 trailers, suggesting it's in.
I always thought it excluded the GT5 DLC. What with GT5's trailers showing tracks that didn't make the final version, I am wary to include sightings as proof unless backed by text or announcements.

It is possible that PD see the GT5 DLC as something seperate - maybe there will be a deal for those who already have them, to incorporate these into GT6. If that will cost us anything, I won't hazard to guess, but I suppose it does depend if any extra work has been done on them or not.

Is it just me or do some of those new screenshots, especially with the SLS in Goodwood, look uncannily realistic? I mean, GT hasn't made me do a double take in quite some time, but some of those pics....WOW.:drool:

Are you kidding me? It's thinking like that that makes puplishers and developers screw over their consumers on a regular basis. It's downright moronic to think PD is justified in leaving out a track that is supposedly finished, because it's a big track. By that logic, they should leave out the Nurburgring too, and release it as paid DLC. Afterall, it is widely acclaimed to be the best track in the world. Nothing generous about giving away actual content in the game that YOU ARE PAYING FOR! It's just greedy to leave it out.

If Bathurst has been modelled and is complete, I think this will be the definitve test regarding PD's rationale behind the DLC and market model in general. JP has stated before that he feels they are money orientated. If it is modelled and in the game, ie: not DLC - then I think we can put that one to rest.

No, but unlock codes are generally in the tens of kilobytes only, if that's what you mean. I'm sure someone will have a more in-depth method and answer shortly though.

Do not forget that.

"Kazunori Yamauchi, who will don his own race suit and helmet to pilot a number of cars up the famous Hill at Goodwood. "I love the incredible range of cars on display – from the priceless, rare and exotic, to the latest family hatchback and full on racing cars – I love the challenge of the Hill Climb and the rally stage."

Oooo interesting. *.*

Early indications show a nice variety of tracks. With EU being well represented. The addition of two legendary European tracks is a great indication of the direction that PD may be heading with tracks.

If it's modelled and in the game it's just a different monetary decision. They'd be including it hoping that it incurs more revenue due to initial sales as opposed to increased revenue from DLC. Either way, we will never, ever know, unless they tell us of course, when a track is or is not finished, so we'll never know whether it's held back or not.

I've been to the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few times and can tell you that going up the hill is quite a climb. It is so steep that most people who go the the top of it (to view the rally stage) don't walk, but take a tractor pulled wagon. :)

That looks awesome. Polyphony has really taken graphical fidelity to another level. Looks like Goodwood's gonna be great for Photo Mode, which I personally enjoy.

Shame the noise is faked though, and isn't even in sync to the video.

On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone find it slightly ironic that the sculpture at this year's event features the Porsche 911, while Polyphony has modelled last year's Lotus sculpture?

Why don't you embed the original GranTurismoOfficial video (fortbo linked) in the first post rather than the rehosted one from MotoGamesTV who are looking for hits. Might be trivial, but fair.

Nice. Kinda reminds me of driving through Camp Letts (a summer camp here in Maryland). Can't wait to attack this with the Impreza RM.

I did not notice that, thanks for letting me know Jay. 👍 Gonna fix it right now.

EDIT: There we go, fixed :)

MotogamesTV do deserve the hits though.

Do we seriously not have anyone at the Festival of Speed to see the actual demo?
The event has already started and we have literally no news outside of a badly dubbed video from Polyphony showing us nothing new. Are there new cars like the 4C at the Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and Nissan booths/shows?

Is Yamauchi getting special access to cars like he did with the XJ13 a couple of years ago? We have no one on the ground and we are a website featuring a bunch of so-called car enthusiasts?

Give people time. I know we live in a gimme gimme world these days but some people like to relax and enjoy themselves at an event like this, not get logged onto the internet and upload a video or post a report ASAP.

I know if I was there I wouldn't be online until I left.

Thought i'd check in... just got back from FOS and saw the demo pods.. also with the DELTAWING!! (not sure if that has been announced or not! it was a surprise for me!)
