Goodwood Hill Climb confirmed to feature in Gran Turismo 6! + Videos

Thought i'd check in... just got back from FOS and saw the demo pods.. also with the DELTAWING!! (not sure if that has been announced or not! it was a surprise for me!)

So the demo doesn't contain anything new that we didn't already see at E3 or the GT Academy demo? No new additions, just a Deltawing?

Give people time. I know we live in a gimme gimme world these days but some people like to relax and enjoy themselves at an event like this, not get logged onto the internet and upload a video or post a report ASAP.

I know if I was there I wouldn't be online until I left.

Very well put Samus. 👍 Honestly some people are so, ugh......

What excatly are you looking for from a demo?

Please, PD... stop mocking us with pre-rendered trailers. There's nobody left still falling for them.

Seriously, that was a sad excuse for an overdubbed video. Are they that embarrassed with their sound samples, or are they still hiding it for later on? Makes no sense. Still excited though to have this included in game. More point to point is always welcome in my book.

Are they that embarrassed with their sound samples?

They can't be too embarrassed since the same Polyphony sound team still has a job. Even when other Sony studios like Evolution Studios can get it right. I think it is more misplaced pride than anything. I think they honestly believe they did a good job with the sound design.

Looks great but typical PD false adverting with blatently dubbed car sounds in another trailer.

Yep. 👎 This time they haven't even synchronised it well either unlike with them Super GT cars at the Ring in that GT5 trailer, for example.

Nice addition to the game, all for new significant to motor sport racing tracks.

Does anyone else think the track surface looks terrible or undetailed? What surface is it that gives it a pale mustard yellow complexion, and is it textured eg.paved or is it cardboard flat untextured as the game shows?

PD must know their sounds are terrible, if they are dubbing these videos. If they don't improve their sounds for GT6, it's highly possible I won't buy it. I hate false advertising.

So many aliasing and flickering, hope this just an early build like E3 demo.

Do not forget that.

"Kazunori Yamauchi, who will don his own race suit and helmet to pilot a number of cars up the famous Hill at Goodwood. "I love the incredible range of cars on display – from the priceless, rare and exotic, to the latest family hatchback and full on racing cars – I love the challenge of the Hill Climb and the rally stage."
Excellent - do I dare get my hopes up? I will be even happier than I already am if the rally stage is there too. I don't actually know why I've become so excited at the inclusion of Goodwood - it must be all this sunshine doing weird stuff to my head.

If it's modelled and in the game it's just a different monetary decision. They'd be including it hoping that it incurs more revenue due to initial sales as opposed to increased revenue from DLC. Either way, we will never, ever know, unless they tell us of course, when a track is or is not finished, so we'll never know whether it's held back or not.
Mmm, yes - a decision that seems to say "we're not going to rip you off". Fine by me though if you want to believe that PD spend a portion of their time thinking of ways to maximise profit. For me though, if Bathurst is in the release version of the game, it'll be proof enough that they're at least trying to be honest and that DLC isn't just another scam.

So see past that and enjoy what they are showing us. I've never taken any sound or visuals from a teaser trailer seriously, after all, very few devs seem to provide anything that hasn't been doctored beforehand.

There are various colour tarmac types in the UK - the fawn one can be seen in some places, things like parking areas.

There again, those old stately piles had people design their environment for them (look up Capability Brown), so colour of roadways, placement of trees and monuments were all important factors for 'the view'. It might be something modern to make it look like what the old driveway had for a surface, often crushed rock, sandstone in this case.

What if the sounds arent dubbed? Maybe its actually coming from the car but its just still being worked on. Kaz did say they are still working on the sounds.I mean if it was really dubbed they couldve got the sound effects to sound just as good as the e3 trailer. In the video it sound to me at least that they are working on the sounds. This would be good news.

....Bowen made his post in May I believe but I don't think he ever confirmed when GT was at Goodwood. We should ask him about that, because if the were there in May and the track is ready in July, that speaks volumes about the true turnaround time on making tracks doesn't it?

This is an interesting point. Bowen747? You still here? Can you kindly tell us when your friend witnessed those PD guys hanging around there for ages? Also can you procure any details on the Rally course at goodwood? Were they also scanning this lovely, frightening, super-thin trail through the forest?

thanks- and don't mind the anal b-holes who climbed all over you in your thread. Remember, you had many defenders as well.. : )

I hope they have proper, extensive leaderboards for the track.

Dude, they're dubbed. 100%. I know you like to defend the game but sometimes you just have to accept reality. As mentioned they're not even the same car used throughout.

The sounds are obviously dubbed because the exhaust notes come from 4 different kinds of engines.

We seem to always find things to complain about. What! pre-rendered video, how dare them! What! they dubbed the engine sounds!

If this is the case, i'm not going to get this game! NOT!

PD is catering to a critical audience within this forum.

It's amazing how you guys truly know this things. :dunce:

Those engine sounds are from another car, the Mercedes SLS GT3. I will look up the BMW M GT3 engine sounds to hear that car but I know the SLS GT3 sounds especially when it downshifts. PD would do well to record engine sounds from cars from actual track runs instead of on dynos, as all that transmission whine isn't always like that in fact it dies down considerably as you get the engine and transmission running warmer. GT3 cars are really loud and those dubbed sounds are definitely from the correct place, just need them to be attached to the correct automobile.

Kaz said the sounds from E3 are sound effects, so this one is also dubbed. There not the real sounds, but Kaz and PD are working on getting the sounds right.

Oh, and guys this isn't the sounds thread this is about Goodwood. Just a reminder.

Where did anyone go into a hissy fit like that? We watched the video and noted it had dubbed sounds, that's all. It's a cheap and misleading approach in a trailer and doesn't install confidence they will have better, real sounds in the game.

Really some of you 'defenders' get into a bigger hissy fit when something is critisied than you claim those making the criticism do.

Um, being dubbed and not using the real sounds in game are two different things. The demos to date have had 'sound effects' as 'placeholders' but they were still generated in game, this is simply a video with other sounds dubbed over it, nothing to do with the sound engine.

As you said TokoTurismo this is about goodwood not the sounds we have all ready got a thread for sounds.

Yep, that's right. 👍

Whoops, haha. I could have sworn the dubbed sounds were just sound effects added from E3. Thanks for the correction Samus. :)
