Important Announcement Regarding Changes for Season 7:

• Season will consist of 8 races instead of 12
• Wildcard races have been eliminated in favor of 8 strictly Gr.3 races
• There will be 1 drop week for points
• 3 drivers per vehicle
• Top 3 drivers from each division from Season 6 must change vehicles for season 7
• Schedule release to follow shortly
• Division realignments to follow shortly

It was the best thing we could do without banning the Beetle and possibly the new RX-Vision

If there was an intended plan to restrict the Beetle or the RX-V for the following season or two, it could've been announced in advance (around mid-season or few weeks before the end) rather than post-season 6.

The top 3 finishers' mandatory car change might be pretty harsh and might not be an ideal plan, but it's one possible alternative solution to shuffle the field, or alternatively further reducing the available number of drivers (i.e. from 3 to 2). If there was an "approved" list of Gr.3 cars for season 7, or 8, or even further in the future, that might be one interesting twist as well.
