All the *stuff* till 2.07 update is on the disc, confirmed on PSBlog.

DLC codes are only few 100kb and they unlock you content on disc for in-game usage, same as for updates so far.

So it will be still spec 2 then?
I was wondering for the spec 3 ...

I imagine spec 3 around the Forza horizon date. 2/3week October. If its coming.

I knew something like this will come out. I was holding out for so long until I caved in and bought the complete pack to do a few practice runs on Spa for GT Academy. Ended up not using any tracks I bought in the actual event :banghead:. Oh well, might pick this up when there might be discounts on this.

If one person makes a car it takes 6 months. BUT Car designer team has around 40-50 people.
I'm sure we will get that new GTR. I hope we gets new update before that package release

I hope they make last revision which includes vast amount of adjustability. I mean like different FFB effects, Ability add FFB profiles for cars, simple tone controls for cars to fix engine sounds to ones liking, option for gt4 steering animation, and maybe a "developer" mode that was presented before in this thread.

Extras:
Posted on 25 July, 2012 at 3:34 pm by Daniele Tacconi: And about the extra “extras”… Unfortunately I cannot say anything at the moment, but stay around and you might have a nice surprise… ;)

I wasn't really talking about the car, I was talking about any content in general. And no, I want the new one. Yes, I am 100% serious. I really want this car.

crap sounds like another hold out on cars for the rest of the world. Just like the Chromline Jaguar, and the Stealth Audi R10, and Stealth Mazda 787B those cars were never released here in America.

This is the 3rd version of GT5 now, isn't it?
Along with the platinum edition with patches built in.

Only mentioning this to those who skate the other franchise for coming out Bi annually.

One for North America and one for Europe. Each version had a price drop of about a third. If these released at the same time around the time Spec 2 released (right under a year after GT5 released)

It's just one car. Don't worry, it's not something everybody wants, which means it's not good value. :)

Question asked about DLC content access:
Sony answer:
"There will be voucher to redeem, but the content of the DLC will be on the disc, since they are implemented with each major patch.

This means that to access the extra content of the DLCs you only have to download a bunch of KB when you enter the Promotional Codes!"

If you already have DLC you can buy the nice new complete disc then sell the DLC vouchers.

Have I missed something here?
If you already own the DLC what's the point?
Is there something else or what? Confused.

Two advantages for the developer:
- No need to maintain different versions of the game
- It discourages its resale as used game (since DLC is account-locked)

Maybe the DLC is on disc content? Would be useful for those that are not linked to internet.

Forza did the same with all it's DLC in a shiney new version. Got slated for it too.

Don't see a point in GT owners getting it if they already have the DLC as blistered hand posted.
Odd

Hey I am up for getting what ever they offer for DLC. I am not a snob I am one who appreciates what ever Polyphony provides.

I don't think anyone is a Snob if they choose not to download a certain batch of DLC. That's a terrible assumption to make.

Being prudent is not equivalent to being a snob.

One last thing, remember this...

from the GT website's news post about the race?

I smell a big and (hopefully) satisfying update prior to the Academy edition's release... Maybe even spec 2 big...

The picture appears like a "Developer" mode, where you can see all of the internals working; it's meant for devs to see how it runs and make adjustments.

It is, however, the single most useful thing I can think of right now! In-game telemetry...

Another trail of thought, the Nurburgring race was only two months ago and the car is already prepared to go in, which is obviously a lot quicker then the commonly quoted "6 months per car..."
.

This is another GTR. It is easier to do the same car and paint it different. I think it is the 2011 GTR with a different livery.
Give me 15-30 minutes and i create you the livery ;)

Except that the body-kit is different. This includes the wing and fog lights. Other then that, you're right, just another livery.

I would like to own the disc, as it means having and easy means to install again without any download patches, it's a more practical disc to own.
And i'm suggesting (along with selling your original GT5 disc for say £6) the DLC vouchers if sold will pay for the cost of the disc, if they can be sold separately to people who have some DLC but not all of it. Could offer it for £0.5 cheaper than PS store prices. Just 1 racing car pack could sell for £6.
I'm not sure what I would do, I am one of those people who have "some" DLC not all, i might choose to buy the disc, or forget about it and find some cheap DLC from Ebay from others who did get it and don't need some their DLC vouchers.
Depends on how the voucher codes work and their value I suppose.

Plus they actually had to apply the real car's livery, and that's not the sort of thing that's planned overnight when there are so many sponsors involved.
