That's what I was wondering but I doubt it.
I live in EU but not in the UK, but I mostly shop from a UK on-line shop (better prices) and never had a problem with DLC or Saves.
If GT5-AE turns out to be an exception, that will be something new.

Btw...24.09euros/17.95pounds is the price if you pre-order it.

Thanks for the info I already checked the price don't know what online shop you go to but on Amazon UK it's £16.97/21.48 in euros roughly.

The special bonus looks to be the new 24hr GTR although it says that article was published a month ago(6th Aug)?

Silverstone will be the extras mentioned in previous press release but it will be dlc for all rather than just on this new disc.

Of course this is based entirely on my own wishful thinking rather than any insider info, I wouldn't get your hopes up as most likely will only end in disappointment but in my mind at least it makes sense that the release of academy edition will coincide with new dlc cars and silverstone.

I very very much doubt Silverstone will be out with this edition or any asscoiciated DLC as this edition had beed developed before anyone even saw the camera cars at Silverstone, so thats definatly out, anyway it takes PD ages to model a track, they even quoted 6 months to model a single car!!!, so Silverstone like Bathurst will in my mind no doubt be in GT6. If Silverstone is coming out for GT5 ( which im sure it isnt ) then i wouldnt hold your breath because it will be months and months away.

On another note if the additional academy addition content is nothing that great then there will be no way ill spend £20 for 1 more damn GTR

Very decent of you old bean.

They should make GT toilet paper. Standard car on every sheet. Make a mint.

No problem :)
I shop from Zavvi.com and amazon but i totally forgot to check amazon for this one, Thanks for the heads up. 👍
I want to buy it but i have all the DLC's (except chrome's + Stealth's) and i am guessing that the old dlc's wont be as voucher codes in GT5-AE, so i could at least gift them.
I'll have to wait till release to confirm it.

There's a little bit more news about this on the GTP blog.

Saw this earlier. It's pretty nice, basically you get a chance to enter a "mini" academy and win a neat prize. Unfortunately my skills aren't that good, plus my country isn't eligible so I have no choice but to skip the competition.

Also the GT Boutique prices are ridiculous, no wonder they are offering us a discount voucher, we'll need it.

Early adopters can join too though right?

Well the PS Blog specifically states that you have to buy the Academy Edition. Then place in the top 6 in the seasonal event that'll be open in January.

I bet that they'll use that GT-R from the cover and that it'll be exclusive to the Academy Edition via a voucher or preferably as an on disc unlockable.

Cool news !
I won't buy the Academy Edition but I will attend the Paris Motorshow.
I'll give the demo at the Nissan booth a shot and I'll try to report how the competition goes.

Nice. Day one adopters who bought all DLC screwed.

Think I'll hold out for the infinite paint, XL edition.

To buy or not to buy, that is the question... >.< I already have the Signature Edition, but haven't bought any DLCs, so this academy ed. worth it or not?

Suggestions?

I am a junkie when it comes to this stuff... I bought a second Collectors Edition of GT5 just I could have it in my second PS3. This will be a very welcomed addition in my household!

Thanks for the reply and suggestion, but if I buy all the DLCs, they will be pretty much the same?? am I right?:nervous::nervous:

All the DLCs are exactly the same in the Academy Edition apart from the fact it doesn't have Motegi plus Academy Edition is cheaper and you get 1 extra car that isn't in any DLCs yet. :)

Yeah I also think buying the DLC is either more, or costs the same as just buying the Academy Edition, so if you don't have any DLC yet, getting the Academy edition should be a no brainer since you also get the updates on the disc(in which case you won't have to redownload them)

one little question:
will the car updates direct on the disk or must i go online to get cars like the Lamborghini Aventador or the new colors. i only (will) play gt5 offline and don't want to buy the academy edition if i have to go online to get the packages. i hope you understand my question, because i`m not an englishman. i hope this is not a so stupid first post. you are my only help! please answer.
