I read somewhere that people tends to retire their high-lv. drivers to crate new ones and they get more XP and Credits by doing so. Is this statement true?

I have 6 Bobs, all of 'em are in the mid-20s... would it be a good move to retire 5 of 'em and create new ones??

You dont get a higher prize for finishing first with a lower B-spec driver.

The only reason to reset is if your friends are selfish and wont enter a higher b-spec driver than thiers But due to the cars selection process, there in for a shock.
On some races, B-spec level can decide if you win or finish in top 10 on others it is the car selection only. A level 10 b-spec driver can win if they start with the right car. call it the SUPER car per car class as any 1 over bspec level 15 is realy hard to win aganst with that car selected in the race.

You cant realy controll which car you get. Thats why races with wider car levels pay less.
Car class, number of cars in gid and race length decide the max pay out for first in Cr and Exp.

But on the PS3 itsel it works.

Are there different servers for Browser and PS3?

Yes, the website updates less frequently. On the PS3: instant access to your new friends. On the website: up to 24 hours of delay.

'Missing return URL parameter' Im also still getting this message :( I have been getting it since the new tiny update for the glitch.. I have tried a few browsers and updating with no success! Only place it worked from was the PS3 which is useless for remote racing hehe.

Does this error appear in all browsers you've tried?
Have you tried using the widget?

Is anyone else having problems running remote races from the web page (www.gran-turismo.com) or even entering into GT My Home on that page? I just can't login onto web page. I enter my name and password and I get 'Missing return URL parameter' message.

Any clues?

Me as well :grumpy: I haven't been able to log into gt.com since the v1.08 update. 'Missing return URL parameter'

I can still use the widget, but have to host on the PS3 when I want to target certain friend's Bobs.

Have you guys tried logging into the Playstation web site first, then going back to Gran-turismo.com while still logged into the PS site?

Might help to delete all browser cookies before doing the above also.

Try deleting all cookies, logging into the Playstation site, then with that still logged in, open Gran-Turismo.com in another tab and log into that.
You may then be able to disallow third party cookies if you wish.
:)

nahh I tried the whole log into playstation site etc a while ago and it didn't work for me even after clearing cookies.. I still have to keep third party cookies enabled. I have tried to just allow the sites its using but to no evail also. Ill just allow it when im using the site.

Individual place prize break down for Circuit de le sarthe 2009.

To add some additional information to this discussion, I ran just my one Bob from my second account and all 6 from my main account in Circuit de le Sarthe. With only 7 racing the winning credits were the same as positions 6 thru 12 when running all 16 Bobs.

I suspect it would average out better in total credits earned to run all 16 slots since there are significant increases in the top 3 prizes which would boost the average, unless, of course, your Bobs are the most inexperienced.

1st - 12,920
2nd - 12,450
3rd - 11,750
4th - 11,040
5th - 10,570
6th - 10,100
7th - 9 400
Total 78,230

Using all 16 and winning every other even numbered place, it would look like: 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, and 14th places = 84,570

Thanks for this info! It's great

From practical experience the amount per event in the second set, all of 20 mins, is aprox. 69.000 credits for six bobs participating in other's remote race (aprox 11.500 per bob). In this case the six has higher lv. than the rest but this has a little influence in ending position.

From what it is being said in the forums, the XP should be around double of this (135.000 XP per race for the six bobs). This makes the ratio well over 4500 XP per min, which is the highest possible in b-spec to my knowledge.

In B-Spec remote races...

Grid start position & Car type selection by PS3 per race
Out way...

B-spec level. Up to a point.

Its been done that way to give low level B-Spec drivers a chance to win.
This excludes Nascar on the valley race track as the cars have 1 PP difference total.
On Nascar. B-spec replaces car type with a real role to play but is again over shadowed by grid position.

Exp table for all, 16 grid, 20 min races.
Please notice that Exp increase a lot for top 3 finish with a full grid.

Has anyone else noticed that even when your PS3 is set to 'Server Standy Mode' and you start a remote race from the website, your PS3 still renders the entire race at full resolution? What's the point in stressing the system when the remote race feature was intended primarily for running bspec against your friends when you're not at your PS3. Disabling the graphical rendering while in server standby mode would not only save wear on the YLOD-prone PS3s, but it would also save quite a bit of electricity for those that have the system going all day.

Yes, I've noticed it. I've watched quite a few races that way. And while I wouldn't want them to just disable the graphical rendering without having at least the option to enable it, I think it would indeed make sense to have the option to disable it. No point using up any more resources than necessary.

Hi OK can somebody tell me if I host a race on my PS3 do I need to sit and watch the race on my PS3 or can I exit out the RR screen and go and play some A_spec? What I'm asking is if my PS3 is hosting a B-spec race can I get on with A-spec racing?

I thought about the option to disable it and just forgot to mention it. It was tired and I was late. PD doesn't seem very keen on options, so I don't expect that feature to ever show up. You have to play the game the way they want it to be played. AND YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE IT.

PS - Anyone looking for more remote race competitors, feel free to add me! I have 6 drivers online and available for remote races. GT Academy Round 3 YLOD'd my PS3 and I brought it back to life with the heat gun method, so I'm trying to use it as little as possible (the re-flow fix is temporary at best). You can imagine how pointless fully rendered graphics in server standby mode must seem to one in my position.

No, your PS3 must remain in Remote Race mode to host. You don't need to watch the racing, but all you can do is turn the TV off. Check the opening post for all the info you need.

Is it safe to leave the PS3 on stand by Server mode for long period of time?
How much bandwidth does the remote races take up? would it slow down the network?
once you set up Remote Races can you just close out the browser or the browser must be open at all time?

I leave my ps3 all night long on Server mode..... Its fine so far....... i checked to see if it was hot on the morning and it was normal.....

I guess this will shorten the life of the fans but im not gonna need this type of grinding forever so...... i think its ok... And no, it wont slowdown the network enough for you to notice
