Forgive my noobness. I just ran a race and then when it ended got an error msg and now the I cannot connect to the GT servers. Did I screw something up? I read the FAQ/How to and though I knew what I was doing. Is anyone else having an issue?

TIA

Just did it again. Saying event not found and now it says I have no driver's shared but I do.

My question is when i select Ai drivers from friends i only have 3 of them that have drivers and the rest don't have any, so how can i get more avilable drivers if it keeps showing me the same friends

You can message your mates and tell them to share some Bobs. But if they don't host any races, you'll get very little benefit from hosting your own races.

You'll need to add some friends who are sharing drivers. If you want your Bobs to win some money for you, you'll need to add people from the various remote race threads on this B-Spec sub-forum. If you're planning to host a lot, choose people who also seem to host a lot.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but tonight I was having a hell of a time just selecting a driver, I kept having to quit the game. I emptied the cache but that didn't help. I even tried running a few regular Aspec and Bspec races. Still didn't help. I ended up shutting the machine off and restarting. That seems to have fixed it.

Big thanks to Bursilak and dvand - currently all about returning the favour, now I've made it to 40. Will be taking some of my bobs offline in the week to do the ring 24h tho.

Kudos for the FAQ.

I'd like to add one little tiny detail: you must be logged on GTWorld at Gran Turismo page to be able to remote race. Yeah, that might be quite stupid and obvious, but if you take a look, the Remote Race web doesn't have any account on your log in GTMode. That means, if you close your Home Page where you entered the RR web, the RR system won't work properly, meaning you won't be able to select your and your friends' drivers, thus not being able to even start a race.

That's because the Remote Race page is launched as a separate app from the "GT5 My Home" page. Makes it easier to do maintenance and/or update the app if needed instead of having to re-do the entire GT5 My Home Page and cause unnecessary inconvenience for those of us that access the page regularly. So unfortunately, yes, the Remote Race app needs its "parent" window to remain open since that's what ties the app to your PSN ID on the network.

If one of your drivers is level 40, does the level of the rest of your drivers not increase?
I never earn XP points on any of my drivers - I only earn credits.

They do get XP. One of my bobs was 40, and others were 39-36 when I started remote racing. When one of the level 39 bobs had about 1,000,000 in prizes, I cashed it in and saw the XP-bar move in his stats, it almost reached 40. Then I raced him some more and cashed the prizes, and he reached 40. The other bob's XP-bars move too when you get the prizes, but if they only have 100,000 - 200,000 in the bank when you do it, they might advance so little you don't really notice.

Hmmmm, perhaps that's why I've not noticed. Also, the gap in XP between, for example, level 38 - level 40 (in my case) is pretty huge.
OK, I'll bide my time on keep an eye on it.
Thanks Vakie - and for the races ;)

I know it's suggested to leave 1 driver open when selecting from friends so that person can use them if they want. Is it ok to have all of someone's drivers selected if they are not online?

No reason why not as if they're offline, they don't need a driver. If they are online though, it's a little frustrating having to wait for a driver, lol. I've experienced this today. Although realistically, if I have 6 drivers, 2 friends could, I suppose, choose 3 different drivers each at the same time.

I try to not select more than 2 drivers from any one person. I also try and keep the levels close. I do add a couple low rankers for amusement and to help others get their newer driver's level up.

Now I know we don't get Bob's winnings until we download them, at which point we see his levels increase. I wonder if anyone knows do his levels increase without downloading his coin. For example, will a level 0 Bob still drive like a level 0 if he has 200,000 unclaimed credits or will he drive like say a level 15 driver? Does that make sense?

As long as you don't collect the credits, his stats will remain the same, so he will keep driving like a level 0.

You can run remote race from the PS3 too. 👍 The interface is a bit more clumsy, but it works. The greatest benefit from the website is that you can host while not near your PS3.

Their stats will not be modified until you collect the prizes.

For some reason i cant select or see any of my friends drivers to pick from whilst on the site - its been ok up till the last couple of days but i can only do it from the PS3 at the moment which as you say is rather clumsy to use.

I could take a few days for your (new) friends' drivers to show on the website.
I've noticed this as well myself.
If they shared their driver some time ago, and they're not recently added friends, than that's a different story...

I find that happens to me sometimes. Do you keep the GT5 My Home window (or tab) open after you open the remote race window? If I close GT5 My Home, I almost always get an error from the RR window when I try to start a race.

I leave my GT5 home page openand haven't had an issue yet with over 80 some races, BTW i'm looking for more friends to remote race, friend me if you want me to use your bobs.

Are you using the widget or do you mean manually started races?

Here's an example of a driver advancing levels due to remote racing.

Before cashing the prizes:

After:

(and he already did some races)

With another driver I took down the exact numbers, and they were:
214,500 cr, giving 358,530 xp. So a factor of 1,67.

So for 1,000,000 credits you'd get about 1,670,000 xp.

that would be nice, for now all I do is leave at least one driver when I host a race.

OMG I never thought about this... I had the bad habit to take all of my friend's drivers to race at once :) so this is why I lose some ps3 friends everyday ! Just kidding, but thanks for the advice.
