I wish Sony/G-T had an option to reserve a driver for your own remote use on the Remote Race site.

Yeah, absolutely.

Alternatively, just make it not required to have a guy free to host races. I'd be happy to host a race without my driver present if I knew all my drivers were being used. And I know this would benefit me, as everyone else could do the same.

I'd also like to be able to compete against a pack of bobs. I realize this is unrealistic, but it would be pretty awesome if we could eventually have an option for mixed online/bob events.

Some great ideas there. Lately, I've been unable to host sometimes, no drivers free. The widget eventually grabs one, but until the new release that Yonis is working on, you can't choose who you race.

Same here, very frustrating. Rarely do I slecet ALL of a user's drivers to race, I almost always remember to leave one free, but of course if someone else takes that driver, you're waiting.....!

..and thanks again Watto.

what is the reward for each race ?

It depends on how many cars are in the event, and how far you advance from your starting position (you can't earn as much if you start from the pole).

I'm getting about $100,000 an hour, but I've just started and had many snags.

Last night I deleted every friend from my 8 accounts for this very reason...people need to have a little common sense here.....:dunce:

NLx...perhaps you could mention this in your FAQ....

Already there. :D BTW, if you use the excellent B-Spec Grinder widget by yonis, it will automatically leave one driver available for each of your friends. 👍

Q: Should I run all of my friends drivers in races I host?
A:
That depends. If you know they are around and able to run races themselves, it's usually a good idea to leave one available so they can do so (especially when running longer races). Remember, if you are using all their drivers, they can't host a race themselves and will not be able to share the wealth! However if they're unable to set up races themselves (sleeping, no net access, etc.) there's no reason you can't use them all.

Although bear in mind that - currently - it will randomly select from ALL of your contacts, where as manually, you can choose to omit some or add more drivers from others ;)

BUT, when choosing manually, you have to be sitting near your computer or your PS3 to choose 'em :dopey:

I totally agree, i'll use all but 2 drivers asuming you have 6 drivers, that way you'll have some leeway. I wont use the wiget that way I can control which drives I use and can spred it out

Quick question:

I have 2 drivers with more than 300k$, they are Lv. 0 and I can't collect any XP or Credits. They seem to be always "used" by others for races. What would be the best way to: 1. Collect the rewards & 2. Put them back online, as fast as possible?

Thanks :)

Ok, I readed about half the posts and I've got a question: if you can only enter 1 of your driver while hosting, would it optimal (or possible) to host a race on secondary account and race all 6 bobs from your main account?

thanks!

Many are already doing that, go for it 👍.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking sir! :nervous:

That if you want to maximize the amount of credits and XP using the remote races, your better off creating yourself a second PSN account with only one Bob. Then you add your main account as a friend on your second account and host the races from your second account with ALL 6 Bobs from your main account. That way all your Bobs will earn credits and XP simultaneously instead of only one at a time.

This:
Q: Can I host a race with more than one of my B-Spec drivers?
A:
No, you can host with only one driver. However, it is possible to invite multiple drivers from other accounts (including any other accounts that you might have).
Crate a second account, get a driver set up and use that account to run all six of you main accounts Bobs.

Edit: Treeeeeee'd

Ohhh I see.

That's a very nice idea :sly:

And I am bumping my question :

i've learned that you may have to just sit there and click on the "recieve prizes" button until they are not being used.

that said, you could just check your log. if those drivers entered a race say.... 15 minutes ago, you have about 5 minutes until they are freed up, which at that time you can collect the winnings.

Or you can check from the log who is hosting the race, then click on that friend's name and "check race results", and you can watch the live timing screen of the race, and see exactly when it ends.

;)
You and me both then 👍

I like that! Thanks 👍

didn't know about that. thanks!

Is anyone else having problems running remote races from the web page (www.gran-turismo.com) or even entering into GT My Home on that page? I just can't login onto web page. I enter my name and password and I get 'Missing return URL parameter' message.

Any clues?

Hi,

for me remote racing in a web browser (Firefox 3, IE 8) is not working at all. It works when I start the remote races on my PS3, but I am not able to select any driver from any friend. If i switch over to my PS3 and start some seconds later, all friends have available drivers.

Is this a Browser issue? I tried Chrome and it didn't work as well...

Any hint?

So I am sorry to all the people who added me in this forum, I was not able to start as much races as I wanted to...

I doubt it's a Browser issue as I'm using FF 3.6.15 and it's fine.

Have you added all of your friends recently? It often takes approx. 30 minutes for the Sony servers to update in my experience.

Obvious question but you are setting the PS3 into 'server mode' aren't you?

Yes, I am setting my PS3 to server mode. I cann start hosting a game and I can see my friends, but they are all greyed out and it says "No Driver found".

On the PS3 remote racing works fine and i finished several races with my friends.

That sounds to me like the Sony servers just haven't caught up yet. I've added friends to my list, seen them in my GT5 list but they're still not available to race remotely from the GT.com web site a good hour after adding them. Try logging out of, and back into the PSN on your PS3.
