Loads of tyre smoke! Just what I wanted. I think PD have been reading these forums.
Hands animation is ALREADY fixed!
The 200 premium cars that take the final count past the 1000 mark are something else, however. The premiums have been lavished with a slightly worrying amount of detail - every single screw is visible in the hubs, the interiors have been recreated down to the stitching (standard cars won't have interiors, which is a bit sad, but there are, like, 800 of them), and their undersides have been comprehensively modelled to take into account a new physics system which, along with allowing for dents and scratches, can sends your ride flipping through the air during collisions.
Dozens of other details spill forth after that: the day-to-night transitions that can take place during a race, the 3D visuals and face-tracking in cockpit view (combine those last two and the results are astonishing as the horizon line disappears into the distance), classy visual effects like smoke illumination, collision sparks, and kicked-up debris. Whatever Polyphony's been doing for the last few years, its staff probably hasn't been clocking in at the office and then juggling Pop-Tarts all day.

I like how the AI waited before rejoining the race. The rest of the replay was kinda stupid with the bad driving...
For the people that are questioning the Euro Gamer article and interior views... I pointed this out in another thread, but I'll do the same here... First they say this:
Then they say this later on and explicitly mention "cockpit" view...
Here they actually say cockpit view and not interior view... I really believe that when they say interior view, they mean the inside of the engine bay and whats under the body panels... because premium cars have a more advanced damage model where body panels come off and such... So I dont think we have to worry about the "cockpit" view....

Thats ok... but I think things are just getting lost in translation and then getting blown out of proportion... but.... It is all just speculation on my part based on what I read and how I interpret it... so I can fully understand youre still worried...![]()
Well the reverse lights people should finally be happy.
Just seems odd that kaz's attention to detail is gone out of the window on 800 vehicles.
Sort of goes against the grain.
For the people who don't use this view that's fine for them.
I happen to use this view myself. The cars I now chose to drive will ultimutly depend on premium or not. Which is a great shame.

How the hell did you notice that!?!I noticed how the subaru's lights are not only switched on, you can see them illuminate the road even in broad daylight. (right in front of the car, a tiny patch can be seen lit up) 👍
