Burnout Paradise was a great game, in my opinion.

In my opinion, it might be one of the best if not the best racing game to date, other than the impending release of GT5.

I've actually spent over 1,500 hours playing that game. It's a keeper. It's just about the opposite of GT5, but my god is it fun. Also had my first 24-hour session on that game.

Oh and really. FREE day-to night transitions and FREE bikes, FREE this FREE that. Can't be beat (yet). And they kept all of their gamers up to date with great weekly podcasts. They do deserve respect, but in a completely different way than PD does.

Criterion = Hey, you guys make great games. <3 ya.
PD = bow down and worship

In your opinion, but it doesn't matter what way you slice it, no one, and I mean NO ONE, comes remotely close to PD as far as racing game go, but thats just my opinion.

If your happy playing arcade racers then thats cool, each to their own.

So what you are saying is when you were saying you should have qualified it as racing games you meant to qualify it as "the niche market of sim heavy racing games on consoles" right?

That market is down to about 3 development houses and really pretty much T10 and PD and Forza, while arguably not as good as GT is likely to be is far from garbage.

It seems YOUR opinion is that the only racing games that count are sim style ones... I personally LOVED rallisport challenge, the Burnout Series, some of the NFS series, Outrun the list goes on... if you want to be elitest to make your point, go ahead, but the result is you aren't saying much then...

Yeah it was a blast. It seemed to me nearly all the complaints were navigation issues, but once you start learning the major roads and landmarks and remember where those few dangerous turns are, it's not an issue. Probably my proudest platinum trophy to date :)

...but back to GT5.

Well the question was who deserves support. Like them or hate them, they deserve it because they're a popular bunch of people who make successful games, possibly the best in their genre just as PD are the best in the sim genre. Plus the generosity thing.

Sorry, you've lost me, I don't remember asking any questions.

What I said was "just about every other publisher/developer I can think of"

Point number one, notice the use of the words "just about" ? As in "not every single one"

Point number two, again notice where I said "I can think of" , I didn't specify which ones I was thinking of.

So feel free, you and your little friend, to argue the toss between you all night long if you want, I will support any publisher/developer who I believe has earned it, PD, in my opinion, have earned it many times over.

I guess maybe some people have lower standards than others, doesn't make them bad people, enjoy, and good night ;)

Haha, I remember constantly trying to get a good barrel roll record with the P12. As far as I know, I was the first to get a 6x barrel roll on film :P

While I'm at it, I wonder how many barrel rolls you can pull off at the bump on the last corner of Trail Mountain

I'm so glad we can have these discussions without resorting to attempts at intimidation and patronizing other members. Most of us.

If you're familiar with how conversations work, a person doesn't need to specifically ask a question in order to raise a question. As you said "our support" rather than "my support" the question therefore was in regards to which developers deserve support from the gaming population in general.

You can continue to belittle us for liking more games than you, if it makes you feel better.

Oooh someones a little testie after being caught out hyperbolising :) Did I step on your toes while you were bowing at the PD alter? Sorry... I'll let you back to your business....

I am familliar with and pretty used to the use of low res shadows, but that cockpit view is kind of jarring...

In some of the videos the shadows in the cockpit look way too dark. I don't intend to nitpick but the stark contrast was noticeable to me... there was light, then suddenly pitch black. I think it may have been the video quality rather than the game's lighting... at least I hope it was.

The geometric steering wheel was pretty awful. Thankfully I play chase cam, so it won't be an issue for me.

You can change the brightness of the cockpit, maybe that changes shadow intensity.

Yeah I am wondering if somehow the shadows are messed up by being youtube encoded because the super low resolution of them flying all over the cockpit is... notable...

Also unfortunately noteable is that the side rail shadows did pop in and out a few times even in front of the car confirming what was brought up in the other thread... I think much less noteable when you are actually driving but I do tend to notice stuff in my periphery a lot even when concentrating center screen (result of a lot of years playing FPS and learning to see the whole screen at once).

BTW am I the only one OCD enough to want the driver to reach over and rotate the vent covers so they were neatly lined up? ;)
