I never visit the GT5 thread but they sure are full of_______. I'm not disappointing by any of these shots. I've seen it in motion. This is getting ridiculous with so many of these posters

Judge it when you see it in motion not by glorified shots to show its less appealing side, when you swing your $$100-300 steering wheels back and forth fighting off a passing player in an online race you wont care about some screen shot posted online. As an old school gamer and long time fan I know some screens don't look great but it doesn't detour my interest in GT. I'm laying off the GT5 threads until after I've had my first go with the game. Oh yeah I've been waiting only 2 and a half years for this, since GT5P not months before GT4 was released.....💡

and guys come on its not blind criticism, the reason it hurts so much is that alot of these butterface Standard cars are our favorites, and amazingly fun to drive(Hommel for example).
They arent ALL bad as we've seen, even the standards are inconsistent, you could say not all standards meet the standard standards.
I already bought it my moneys already spent, i can say whatever i please, especially if its the obvious facts and truth.

I think you just don't want to know the truth.. Denying is the best solution for that until you got it in your hands and see what I'm seeing on my fullHD screen..
The game lives because of it's great physics. But the graphics are partially PS3 and 2010 unworthy

Like i said I'm doing it purposely.... I will come out a head with a free game which when I go to sell will make it that I was paid to buy GT5... I've done this 3 times before and I always came out with more money then I put in. I got a buyer for the car already a kid i work with. i told him CE is sold out and told him about the car and proposed $55 for the car and he accepted
Last time was with red dead redemption I preordered it with amazon got a $20 gift card for their site and they accidently gave me 2 bonus golden gun codes. They emailed me one and the other came packaged with the game. I auctioned them off on ebay one sold for $17.50 the other for $15 I auctioned the game like 5 months later for $38.12. So simple math 17.50 + 15 + 38.12 + 20 = 90.62 - 62 for the total profit of $28.62

Here's a thought: If you don't like what you see, cancel your pre-order and buy something else with the money. But, PLEASE, just shut up, already. less than a day away from the game's release and we're STILL getting all these whiners. Seriously, if you don't like it, don't buy it, but leave the rest of us to enjoy the game in peace.
I bet the people who complain will probably get online and drive the wrong way on the track and other stupid crap. This is why I'm waiting until I'm like level 20 or so before I go online.

People can dislike the graphics but like the physics. Like I do atm, and actually did all my life. Formerly I played LFS and Simbin games. Graphically they suck, physics are great.. I got Forza 3 as well, and actually... Forza3 Laguna Seca looks tonnes better, but the driving in Forza is not as good as in GT5.
Also this topic is about pics, which I posted. Nothing wrong with that, and about pics we can discuss. Also nothing wrong with that. So imo the only one whining are you, becaus eyou don't like what people are saying or what pics are been shown.

I know your 'love' for the GT-series...they ARE great games....but having unconditional love and support for a product is not the way things work.
If people aren't allowed to criticize products that other's are so fond of, then the whole world will be a big mess. To me...the YEARS of waiting (literally!, no denying about that) and then having this as 'endproduct' is not worth my 80 bucks...
And don't get me wrong....i've been playing GT since GT1 and know the quality of the games, but this is just a BIG letdown...As Gaiajohan said...denial is the best solution for this....

, I never would have thought this sentence could be true. I'm kind of glad to hear it, to be honest, as the physics are what matters most, but I'm sure others don't think the same.

PS2 has no complex lighting or shaders. People should go and play GT4 if they think this it is bad save your money
I think a lot of people are thinking the wrong thing about our so-called "denial". It's not that we don't see the problems, or the flaws. We just don't CARE. It's literally not an issue for us.
Why people call that "denial" is beyond me. We're not saying that there ARE no problems... THAT would be denial.

The first few days of a games release are always filled with what you are seeing here: 1) people who had unrealistic expectations in the first place and for some strange reasons take it personally when it doesn't meet them, and 2) flat out trolls who enjoy being jerks.
Give it a few weeks. The True fans will be here, discussing an amazing game they all enjoy. There will still be issues people disagree on, and problems with the game discussed and argued over, but overall the forums will be a much happier place.

No. Actually playing the game gives you the right to complain and criticize. Or if you actually MAKE games for a living. Paying for something just means you paid for it and only gives you the right to retract your payment.
When did I say this? I was just saying I'm tired of all the whining. I'm going to get GT5 and enjoy it regardless of what others say.

You said "leave the rest of us to enjoy the game in peace". Admitting that the things people write keep you from enjoying the game, which you don't have.
As for the first part, disagree with all of the above. There's nothing factual about anything you said.
People can say whatever the heck they wan, within reason, you coming in here and whining about their complaints isn't any better than what they're doing.

Keep in mind this is still the first Gran Turismo that can get updates/patches online. It´s comical that someone would totally pass on buying it for the issues posted so far. PD will be able to update/refine this version for YEARS to come. (oh, and will be years!)

Paying for something is a result from expectations.
Let's say i create a a product, and the ONLY information i release about it, is the name: "Product X" and the pricetag: $80. What it is, what it does etc. are unknown....
Will you go to the shop and spontaneously buy it?? You wouldn't, would you? Because you know nothing about it.
Then i create a product, "Product Y", with the following features: it is a bycicle you can travel with, with speeds of 50mph!
You order it, and pay in advance for it. Then some time later you find legitimate information about it, saying it it only does speeds of 30mph.
But you paid with the 50mph expectations. Are you glad now?

I don't know why you keep defending PD like they're your soulmates...You cannot deny those pics are just UGLY and NOT what the game was advertised with.
I paid 80 bucks for the game expecting to get characteristic X....instead, it turns out only characteristic X is delivered in an other context, and not the context it was indirectly advertised for (charterstic x: graphics, context= mode of the game (photo-mode, ingame)).
You can tell me to keep my thoughts for myself only IF i wasn't willing to pay money for the game and thus was just somebody who wants to bash the game for no reason.
Instead, i have a very legitimate reason, i was prepared to pay money for it and that i did...so yóu cant tell me when i could criticize and when i can't...

Agreed, there are so many other aspects of GT5 that look great. Of course the screens look very ps2 like but compared to the other stuff I've seen posted on the forums this game is going to be awesome. I remember seeing really poor screen shots of MGS4 on the internet, but on my HDTV that game looked amazing, I'm sure GT5 will look amazing to.

I think only the scenery is from GT, but the car itself is real. Someone made a montage in Photoshop or something like that.

Don't feed the troll. All they want is a reason to keep moaning. The car look bad? Don't use it. The game look bad, don't buy it. Go play something else. You have the right to complain and make negative criticism, but you don't have the rights to destroy other people's fun about it. Please go rant in the rant/emo topic or standard vs premiums topic.
And no. I'm not blind. I do agree that some standards look BAD. I'll not use these. (Mainly I'll stay away from the Hommel because the car was ugly in GT4 and its still ugly in GT5) I'll use the ones that are better looking and wait for fixes. It'll happen.
