Thanks to Kyaw for the edition :)

No game will EVER be 100% perfect. Just wish people would see that for once. :dunce:

You are overly defensive.
You don't need to chime in every time a fault is pointed out. Relax, your blood pressure will thank you.

Good choice and amazing pic. The only problem with the LF-A...it's never really yours.

The car can be purchased. That's an old article. Might want to update your sources.

:odd: Just....weird.

Servers were switched on earlier today. There are online videos already.

I think they look the way they do because they are taken 'in game', not in a photo mode or replay. The overall look wouldn't be so noticeable when you're driving around at speed of course.

GT5 is a game of extreme contrasts. On one hand you have the gorgeously stunning premium cars that stand up to the most extreme scrutiny at high resolution in photo mode and on the other hand you have some rather poor looking standard cars that only look good enough in motion.

Do you all think that someone would actually go through the process of downscaling those in game screens like in a similar way in which folks upscale GT5 photomode pics in the edit photomode thread here? I mean, hell, I just played through a bit of GT5 earlier and the cars and tracks didn't look like that at all  (Some premium cars posted in the neogaf thread look like a ps2 game as well) Wonder what happened?

Edit: Look at the grass :yuck:

So the Premium and Standard tracks thing has come onto surface?
I did read people mentioning that some tracks (especially older ones) didn't look very good, but I wasn't so sure about that until I saw those images.

So maybe we can expect more of the older tracks? It doesn't seem that a great deal of work went into those ones above. Have a look at those textured curbs, for example.

Well those are actual GT4-PS2 assets, so they look the way they do...
It was either to have those, or just to have the new tracks. The more, the better I guess...

I don't know about the other tracks, but I know that LeMans has a "standard" version (circuit de la sarthe 05) and a "premium" version (circuit de la sarthe 09). it may be the same for other tracks.

It looks the same as a PS2 game on a PC using an emulator software. 270 premium cars is still plenty though and new premium cars and tracks might come with future updates.

I have no real qualms over them using the GT4 assets, however why did it take them so many years to make the game if that's what they've done?

It is also encouraging when you think about the rest of the GT4 tracks arriving for GT5.

Just like everyone else doesn't need to keep pointing out all the faults? Deal is when someone points something out (like the screens of the tracks above) someone is going to say something. I'm not defending anything really. I guess you could just call me "easily pleased". I don't really care about how the tracks look, or how the shadows glitch or how crappy the damage is.

Gran Turismo for me is about the Driving Experience. Unfortunately I cannot afford to race my real car around a track all year long, so I have to settle with the virtual world. It's more than just a game to me.

Oh well, less than an hour of work left. I'm going to get some stuff done, go home and play Prologue for a few hours, then head to WalMart to buy a copy of GT5. Cheers. 👍

I've already taste some of this pics long time ago, and when the time comes, the game looks simply amazing.

Wait to GT5 in your LCD. It''ll be another story 👍.

A big hug.

Eager Snake.

As long as the physics are good than I'm not overly fussed about the track graphics. Admittingly, that last shot is pretty bad..

Not really.

You guys need to be aware that we've seen plenty of other pics and videos of these tracks, we should be able to make our own minds up by now of whether these are crappy pictures or if the tracks look consistently bad in all the other pics and vids etc. Personally I thought Trial Mountain looked pretty good in the vids, I'm going to trust what the majority of media suggests rather than some pics that are way below everything else which may or may not have been edited to look worse than they are as some people occasionally do.

Either way, by the time I will have GT5 waiting for me when I get home from work tomorrow and I'm looking forward to getting a couple of hours in before the football.
