GT graphics have in my opinion reached a level to be in certain cases (even in gamplay video ones) almost indistinguishable from real life. The same however still cannot be said for sound, and especially engine samples. To me, for realism and immersion, really good sound is much more important than great graphics and I would even trade off visual detail for it.

What eyes can't see, can be filled with some imagination, but bad or mediocre sound will remain exactly like that, no matter the efforts put into it by the player to delude himself that they're good instead.

Just so you know I didn't jump on you for accidently posting a custom M5, after I posted the moded specs & mentioned it was unfair to compare a custom to a stock you disregarded it and said who cares it still sucks, and thats why I responded. And yes, when people are disecting GT5's sounds, using a moded car to compare to a GT5 stock car does make the difference of the universe. You are still entitled to your own opinion, but that wasn't my point. 👍

Wasn't Piazza del Campo only for go-karts?

After selecting Siena (see how I go round the spelling? ), the choice of cars was limited to the Kart and the Fiats.

Games like NFS use sounds that we like to hear, but they aren't very realistic for being the driver, hearing an outside exhaust note like it's being pumped into the car.

I didn't disregard anything. I made a dumb mistake and went out to look for a stock M5 on YouTube to compare to GT5's in order to make it fair and I spoke my mind honestly that the exhausts are still not up to par.

Hey, I'm not bashing the game or anything. I'm just saying the sounds could still use some work, but at this point I have completely given up on any significant improvements.

Thanks Alba & Denur for the excellent videos 👍 we've had a lot of media coming out of gamescom but it is especially appreciated the effort you went to to record some loads of sound and match it to the videos. Also thanks to CoolColJ for helping sort out the audio 👍

I'll have a thorough listen later today but I'm happy with what I've heard so far as it's a definite improvement on what we've had before. You're never going to get an accurate representation of the sound or video recorded this way but it has stoked my enthusiasm even more and I can't wait until the disc is in my PS3 with the sound cranked up on the surround sound

Nice wake-up present Alba, thanks! Shame about the people who only seem to be able to focus on the negatives. Personally I think the audio is absolutely fine, and I know that no matter what you recorded and CoolColJ enhanced, it's going to be nothing like the audio coming out of my own 5.1 system.

Thanks Alba and Denur for the videos! (Somebody needs to learn how to shift though ). It sounded like your camera wasn't as good at catching low frequency sounds, but still the videos gave a good impression.

Yes he is.. He saw me driving and thought I can do that to.
It was on:
Automatic (Because I can't hear the game)
Pro Physics
R1 Tires
No traction control

First time Nordschleife, 30 people arround me and a little bit nervous lol and no sound sucks

Oooh, I forgot. I did actually do a race on the TGTT with the M5. I did quite badly and, on my second lap, got smashed into oblivion by a GT-R as I approached Chicago while he went through the Follow-Through.

Have to wonder how races are going to work in the full game on that track...

I can't describe how I like the physics in latest videos!Even from videos you can almost feel the car.It's unbelievable!

I tried GT5 at the PS Beta Rooms at the beginning of August and they are amazing physics. Best I've driven in a console game. The feedback and input is just astounding.
