New menu click noises! In other news the M5 sounds meh. Also the reflections on the steering wheel of the 330 P4 are:dopey:

Meh? More like it sounds great. It was one of the better sounding cars in GT4 and it's even better in GT5. It sounds the best when you can actually hear the exhaust (chase cam). Unfortunately we don't get to hear it for long in chase cam in the video but you can still hear it quite nicely. Even in the cockpit it's pretty good too.

Too bad all these videos stay on chase cam for like 1/4 of a second (other than doing a burnout in the M5 video but that doesn't give a proper sample). That's where the sounds are heard the best.

The Zonda one is beyond repair, it's completely phase cancelled that you can't hear it :)
But I fixed the other ones, uploading now

Well I just woke up and watched all of alba's videos. As expected, disappointing. They still sound like GT. If I were blind and I heard one of these videos with just the sound, I could tell you it was GT in a hearbeat. Still has all that synthetic sounding emptyness. Hard to explain. The corvette was hardly even tweaked from Prologue, I know because I used to play with the corvette almost everyday, and that sound is etched in my brain. Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with mediocre sounds from another GT game yet again but considering all the other features, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

GT5P Engine sounds I have voted 5
GT5 considering from those Alba video's my vote is 7!
Yes,it still behind NFS or Rfactor mod but not bad!!

Yes, didn't try that but you can see a bit of it in the P4 video I believe where he goes from 4th to 2nd but I didn't really try that, sorry.

I think it might be because of my cable. This one is a bit weird and my Zonda R recording where I can't even hear the car at all... I'm trying to have CoolColJ look at it but I'll upload my video without sounds for that one, no choice.

Edit: Finished uploading Fiat 500 & Piazza Del Campo

[youtubehd]BqZKt0av0RM[/youtubehd]

This is my last video for today, I'm going to sleep since it's very late here and the only video left to upload is the Zonda R (only one where my sound file is corrupted or something since I can only hear the other cars).

@ :53 looks like a hood cam view, cool! now I don't have to deal with that invisible bumper. :)

^ Nascar for Fiats :D

The interior isn't as dark in Fiat as the other cars. Why don't they make it like that for all cars?

Cheers to Alba for all your hard work!

I don't care much for Nascar, but it sounds like they got it spot-on... based on what I heard on Days of Thunder and Sega's Daytona (arcade) anyway... :P

I think a lot of people here need to have their heads examined.

The M5 sounds exactly spot on, as did the ZR1 and the 458. The difference in our ears and heads comes from listening to the outside exhaust note instead of being in one, and also from watching Youtube videos of people with aftermarket exhausts/cat deletes and trying to compare those.

Games like NFS use sounds that we like to hear, but they aren't very realistic for being the driver, hearing an outside exhaust note like it's being pumped into the car.

May be because the dash on the original 500 is of the same color as the body and isn't dark plastic or other modern textured material.

I might be wrong though.

I thought that ugly invisible wall was a little to close to the side of the track 👎

I was talking about the burnouts, tyre marks and smoke but if you have to be negative about everything then ok, the invisible walls on the beta build are too close.

Hi Denur, indeed i won my GT5P-Final today in a realy close last race against MADFORCE. :)
Congratulations! It was very nice meeting you. :)

Lambo Miura Video

1:45

Is that the sound of an awesome tyre squeel or what?
Nice driving too...
The Miura is a fun car to drive, bit of a handfull, but nice to get into a drift with (like at 1:45), too bad the wall was there.

I just had the chance to watch and listen to all the videos made by Alba. Great work mate! 👍 👍 👍

Too bad I couldn't hear these sounds while driving, it would have completed the experience (and less driving at the rev limiter too ;)).

After all those videos, they certainly tuned up the audio engine somehow. But the work with samples is still TOTALLY HORRIBLE, you can hear idle sample, then blended into humming of some 3x slowened sample from 2k rpm and then it's blending into third sample from 4k rpm and that's fastened all the way up to 7k rpm where it sounds just synthetic and without any real engine passion. When upshifting and downshifting that effect sounds synthetic too. Almost every other game of today makes unique recording of that blip after shifting, not so Gran Turismo. Very poor sample work with only three samples throughout the whole range, no variety of engine sound under load / cruising and now almost certainly the weakest spot of GT5.

You should copy/paste this post of yours for every new page, but than again you would soon get a troll-etiquete despite above oppininon of yours is 100% true.

👍

Very true sadly...but I'm still optimistically hoping those are just placeholders, on account KY said sounds will get total overhaul...or maybe I'm just being naive in thinking 5th game is going to be any different sound-wise...:(
Also, I don't think standard cars will sound any better since they're just ports basically...:indiff:

I agree with pretty much everything you just said but I do believe the sounds could still do with some extra work, but they're much more accurate (tone and including sound locations) than most give credit for.

M5 on Top Gear trying some stuff out!

Uploading Fiat 500 '69 on Piazza Del Compo now :P

The smoke looks great. The tire screech sounds great. The engine sounds... 👎

It should be a little like this.

So why are you compairing a stock M5 to a custom M5, if you read the info of the video it lists:
"Here are the M5' mods: Meisterschaft Section 1 Test Pipes, Section 2 X-Pipe, GT-Exhaust with Carbon Fiber Tips, RPi Ram Air Scoops, BMC Filters, Evosport Power Pulley"

👍

They are your opinions and if you think the sound is spot on then that's great. I wish I could say the same thing. To me, they are nowhere near spot on. Although there are improvements, especially in low end, it still sounds like typical GT. It sounds like it's synthesized. GT sound is still very poor compared to todays standards.

Yep, exactly what Predwolf was explaining.

It doesn't matter. Even stock still sounds better than GT5.

Yes that's right if we are going to compare, it has to be stock. There is a video of an M5 in cockpit view back on page 81 for comparison.
