Although 100% expected, now it's pretty much official, coming from mouth of Chris Hinojosa-Miranda, Associate Producer at SCEA. In answering to a question regarding GT5:P soundtrack for US market on official PS blog, he stated (4th comment):

"Also, to further clarify, GT5 is still about a year away. You should just decide now to buy it, enjoy it, go online and race against anyone and everyone, rank number one worldwide, get the girl (or guy) and become the most popular kid in town. The end."

SO, that pretty much says for itself. Thanx to Guy Legend on Neogaf for sppoting this.

Lol his words are interesting.
I didnt except a game as huge and awesome as gt5 to be out anytime soon after seeing all the work they did just to get prologue up and running. Even if gt5 only has the amount of races and cars of gt4 it would still be a daunting task to put it in highdef on ps3 with all the new bells and whistles (namely incar view.)
I dont expect gt5 anytime soon...even early 09.

My opinion is GT5 coming in spring 2010 and any sooner date will please me. This unobtrusive introduction of another neverending delay story just shows I'm right :)

But what about us who have already got the girl, and are also the coolest and most popular kid in town, what do we do??:)

It's going to take until 2009 to earn enough credits for the rides in Prologue, especially considering the cost of visits to the Ferrari dealership. :)

I've said it for over a year now, I'm expecting GT5 to come out Xmas '09 and any sooner will be a pleasant supprise indeed :)

-> The Prologue will keep us busy so its okey, add the DS3 and were all set.

-> Plus I have Burnout to add my thingies. ;)

I still think it will come out christmas in japan and spring in europe :P

This thing probably means that when GT5 comes out, everything (or almost) they said they were trying to put in will actually be in.
Things like changing weather, damage, etc.

Or maybe not.

I hereby second this. They have delayed GT in the past yes, but they delayed 5 as well, to early 2009, I think its a pretty good guess that it will be aorund a year from now.

Any Sony/PD people will say that. Otherwise who will buy prologue?

I am 90% sure GT5 will release by Christmas in Japan.

I'm expecting PS4 to be out before this game, so this is no surprise! lol :-)

On a more serious note, I'm waiting for weather, day/night, spa & adelaide, and Porsche to be confirmed before I buy a PS3 for this game...I'm holding out. If not, then I guess I'll take a nice vacation instead...

Do you want fries with that? :P

Do you want fries with that?

Yes, I do...And not the old soggy ones either!!! I want them to be fresh!!! lol, I guess I did leave myself open to that comment! But honestly, I don't think I'm asking for too much...

I did not buy the GT4 prologue, but am glad that I bought the GT5 version. It means they will solve the online glitches before they get the full game going.

GT5 Prologue is brilliant (especially the "OVERTAKE EVERYONE IN ONE LAP" challenge)

:)

Me neither. But with each of those demands you named, the likelyhood of it happening all at the same time dwindles...:( Maybe we'll have some of those in GT5, and all of them in v.6.

He could be saying that to boost the sales of Prologue (ie don't wait, buy now..). Although it's certainly possible.

Forza 2 released almost 2 years exactly after Forza 1. If the Forza 3 releases 2 years from Forza 2 then that will be May of 2009. I only have time for one or the other and I'd rather get both and not have to choose, so I'm hoping GT5 can still make it this Xmas.

If it took MS 2 years to create Forza 2, then it will take them 3 or 4 years to make anything nearly as good as GT4 in content size and replayability. My money is on GT5, worry about Forza 3 when you can somehow unpeal your self from gt5.

I agree that, if it is going to be released more than a year from nowadays, PD has to make some major improvements. I don't know whats the actual state of development, such as tracks already sampled, and cars, maybe for now there's GT5:Prologue and thats it. GT4 Prologue was just like GT4, except with less tracks and cars. If GT5 final is improving, lets hope they will release those improvements to Prologue users, like physics, IA, online mode, and it seems thats what PD is doing.

Don't except many cars and tracks releases, GT5:P is something, and GT5 has to be another, I wouldn't be surprised if they sold GT5 by PSN cheaper to who already has a copy of GT5:P, that would be sweet.

SUPERNUMBBER,

I agree with you that the likelihood of all of those being on GT5 is not big, but it's all the little improvements and details (such as the ones I mentioned) that PD makes between now & the release date that would determine whether GT5 will be a first day buy or a used buy somewhere down the line.

While that may not be true for a lot of the diehards on this board, it could certainly apply to Forza fans & all the regular gamers that PD are trying to reach.
