There may be something new but it is doubtful. The current issue arrived in the shops as E3 was happening. The next issue is about three weeks away. Believe it or not nearly every word that will appear in the next issue was written before the last one got to the shop. That's the way print magazines work. There are massive lead times involved with the printing process, normally because of all the back and forth of copy for corrections.

In order for the next issue to have new information in it, the Magazine and Sony would have to get together. Sony would have to reveal what will be shown at E3, get the magazine to agree to not reveal any information early and then give them more information that is timed to be revealed one month after E3. All this has to happen without anyone working for the magazine revealing anything they shouldn't.

It is possible that it will be new information, it's just far more likely that it won't be anything new.

Whilst that's true - think about it, they ran a Modern Warfare 2 feature this month which would have been written before the big reveal at E3, so it's perfectly possible they managed to score an exclusive interview for Gramn Turismo 5, we'll just have to wait.

EDIT: If any of you guys have got a twitter account i guess you could try ask either timothydclark or OPM_UK if they can confirm whether anything new will be revealed.

Well, they really had the focus concentrated on GTPSP in E3 so i think it's very logical for
Sony/PD to spill some new info on GT5 since all we really got in was a teaser video. I have
high hopes :]

There are a few things to remember about all this:
  • Giving out early interviews and previews is nothing new. It happens in every market from cars to musical instruments to computer parts to video games. They know they have to keep all info confidential if they want to have any kind of future in the business.
  • Kazunori said that the game was essentially in a finished state already, and could be released at any time.
  • The French OPM magazine in its own preview has a damaged car. And not a race car, but a Toyota MR2, a street car. Plus the tagline: "Events, cars, damage." Hmm...
  • Dan Greenawalt of Turn 10 has had a really bad attitude and big mouth lately.
I'm thinking some pretty explosive tidbits. And I'm also beginning to think a September release...

please.. dont get me too excited here okay? :nervous:

Im sticking with a 2010 release date, i can hardly take the thought that im going to be playing this in 2009, let alone in 4 months.

IF GT5 is released in September. Would that shut the Forza fanboys up or what!? Hahaha!

First Turn10 brags like 10 year old kids about their new game, which doesn't look close to what GT5 does, then Turn10 is bribing their fans to vote for Forza 3 in a poll of which GT5 wins and then GT5 is released before FM3! Now that would be too good to be true, so I'd say it won't happen. But we can always hope! :D

@ Tenacious D:
you mention OPM having a picture showing damage on toyota MR2. can you please show us this picture?

edit:
sorry, I just found the other thread containing the picture I requested...

No one should get excited just yet. Let us AT LEAST wait until we get more details from the magazine, or until SCEA says something.

I know, and it would just be hilarious to see the expressions on the Turn 10 teams faces, especially Dan's.

"Well... Foraza 3 still upscales to 1080p! And I bet you can't race through Greek ruins in that piece of... Gran Turismo."

I wonder how nervous they're getting with this news? I bet we get even more blogs and interviews, daily, even if they have to "overpromise," kind of like they did with Fm2.

I dont want to put something in amars mouth but:
And then you'll find out that day of the Fiest is also known even today.
That was after... play-asia (?) had September 25 as release date....

Sorry couldnt resist.

Holy dog****! Now I ain't gonna be able to fall asleep tonight!:scared::ouch::D:drool:

I know. I was thinking of that September release date... eh, I'd better shut up. :P

September is either a joke, or sony really is dumb for not showing more at e3. its not gonna be out in September. at least i dont believe so if it is it is, but to be honest that seems alittle close. but its always hard to tell i mean who knows how long they have been working on nascar and wrc. it could have been a year by now. but its strange for them to just so outside shots. no REAL in car witht he e3 trailer. either way September would be great. but im guess January or November :-/

It depends on whether or not SONY has grown tired of Ms's shennanigans, and are readying an asteroid strike on them of their own. It would certainly serve them right, between Dan G's incessant sewer of an attitude, and things like the E3 Natal demo being mostly smoke and mirrors.

How was it at GT4? when have they began to creating hype and when have the magazines began to preview?

I still believe on a worldwide September release *fingers crossing*

Stores don't get release dates before other sources.

And I think G.T.Ace was being sarcastic :)

A store has already leaked the price and details of fm3's limited edition, due out october, so however unlikely, theoretically I guess it's possible they may already have info on GT5 if there's a september release.

Also, who said other sources don't have a release date? Embargos are placed to prevent these coming out (officially at least), and we all know Amar has been privvy to infomation (including possible release dates, remember that wind?) for a while now, so why not others?

Maybe SCEE or maybe SCEJ. I remeber that Europe is the most important market for GT series.:dopey:

Next season of Top Gear starts on June 21st and maybe Jeremy and co. give us some news about new Gran Turismo. Its perfect way to make some "noise"...

I can't see it myself, the BBC aren't allowed to advertise. That said, if anyones going to break the rules, you can count on Clarkson.

Perhaps quick mention about the test track being in game, but thats about all they could get away with. I don't see it myself.

How about GT Mobile? Didn't we all agree that if GT5 is released before, at the same time or shortly after GTM, GT5 would get all attention? And GTM wouldn't sell all?

I was serious, but im also a person who usually says "shop dates mean nothing". In August is the GamesCon in Cologne and in mid September is the Tokyo Games Show, enough to announce a release date. And to your first point, yes, but printmags or internet sites can be under an NDA regarding this.

This is of course only speculation from me, i could also imagine that the release date was set to 25th September and got pushed back again (internal, they never officially announced it so its okay).

Dunno.

GT5 would get all attention? And GTM wouldn't sell all?
GT5 hype could push GT PSP sales, especially when theres a connectivity between the two games.

if there will be connectivity between GT5 and GTM, GT5 will push the sales of GTM.

Esp. if it there will be a possibility to buy cars at GTM and make them available in GT5. This way people would buy the GTM to play and buy cars and transfer them to GT5 (not copy or sell, move them from garage to garage - this would be a great idea!).

Just a heads up, Official Playstation magazine Australia also makes mention of GT5 for their next issue. But it just appears to be more of a e3 recap than any actual news since the picture used is the E3 logo.
