Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

I should think the track feature will probably be weather and time adjustment for every track, but a flag system would be very welcome.

Scaff
It would be nice to see that return (GT2 was the last to have it if I recall), as well as standing starts again (which would hopefully also prompt PD to sort out the tyre issues that make them so unrealistic).

Yes, my worries with standing starts are the AI and tyre model. You can slam the throttle, get lots of wheelspin and you'll still get off the line faster than them, add the lack of torque steer and you'll be in first place in 10 seconds.

An improved tyre model alone would already fix a lot of issues but I don't know what are they going to do with the AI.

I really hope GT6 is for PS4 so that i will have many good games to play on it if i do in fact get it for Christmas but i will not be sad at all if its on PS3 this year.

I think flags, better tyre wear indicators, fuel etc is a must. In my opinion the best racing on the PS3 is from codemaster's F1 racing series, Kaz needs to take a leaf from their book.

Imagine a race engineer on your radio during the race.

I do hope its more than that, as its going to be rather limited in application if it is....

...now when it gets to the PS4 if I could download data from my own OBD2 adapter (which gives the exact same data and more via my phone as the GT one above) and use that on circuits generated from google maps (vis the GPS) that would be something.

Wishful thinking I know.

GT2 didn't have qualifying for any races. GT4 and GT3 had it for series races.

👍 I'd also like to have the running start for online races (as an option).
Starting from grid is really a nightmare sometimes..

No problem with mixing it up either, but in that case GT needs to get rolling starts correct as well. In reality you don't have to wait until your car crosses the start/finish to accelerate and race, you can do that from the moment the first car does. Its such a fundamental error that I'm amazed it doesn't get picked up on more often.

It's one of those 'small' things that shows the biggest three GT5 flaws, that aren't related to the ps3 or whatever excuse: bad implementation (inexcusable), lack of options (standing starts) and lack of a fun-factor (pace car).

Totally agree on that bro. Either make it right or even make a AI pace car.

By the way. Did you get message from yesterday?

Again could be easily fixed on the PS3 (or even via an update to GT5).

BTW yes I have the PM, just going to be a while before I can do anything with it.

Agreed. They also have had a lot of problems with them trying to update the rolling starts (black screens/having to press the play pause button after the countdown). It does amaze me how they have screwed that up so bad.

And all good, I just wanted to make sure you got it.

My only hopes for GT6 is a massive improvement with the online portion of the game. It seems as if the GT series is 10 years behind PC's. Time to close that gap.

I'd be content with all premium cars even if it meant the total car count dropped to 400ish. (Wasn't it 200 premium cars for GT5?)

Also, day/night for all tracks, while I'm highly doubtful, would be a huge deal for me. SSR5 during the day = pre-order.

Red Bulla attending Silverstone...can it be more F1 focus coming in gt6...wooohooo

Abit optimistic there, especially considering that has little to do with the actual licensing of F1.

I'm worried about the number of people who push for less cars. In GT5, I have more fun trying the standard common cars than most premium sports car. They may be irrelevant to some of you but cutting the car selection in half would really hurt me in the way I use the GT series... because, it's fair to assume that the logic behind it is to get rid of the slow cars and adding "desirable" premium sports cars.

I just feel like some GT players would be happier on Need For Speed than GT, at least in terms of car selection. I really don't think pushing PD around because of the standards issue is justifiable; GT was always about car variety first and I find too often that people want to let them go under the guise of asking for more "desirable" cars and the premium/standard issue. On the bright side, many posters in the GT6 Car Wishlist thread seem to see things the way I see them, and you'll often find people wishing for all sorts of low/affordable cars.

With all the time PD had on their hands thanks to GT5's code legacy, I can only wish that no car was left behind, were they to have chosen the premium only direction. In my opinion, standards were a plus for GT5, not a less.

It could however mean more RB F1 cars though... Even if its only Rb cars added, gives us Ferrari and RB to play with...

Or an X2013... Im sure there hasnt been much more technology left out to clarify another X series car...
