This sounds unaccidental to me.
Sounds like a real word to meIndeed if unaccidental is a word that is...
Saidur_AliIndeed if unaccidental is a word that is.
I think there strategy would be something like releasing it before PS4, probably show off a PS4 tech demo of GT game too at E3 (Maybe also show more details and give possible release time frame) and also do a smaller announcement that GT6 will be out to buy relatively soon on PS3 and maybe have it playable at the E3 show. Will be also interesting to see if Vita gets some love too from them.
It will be interesting indeed, and I believe it would be *their strategy.
They are most likely going for a big surprise element Kaz style. Then everyone will know GT is coming, I still wonder what their strategy will be as they most likely will be developing for all three by now but we haven't got a clue about their progress. The thing that bothers me: if this is totally untrue, wouldn't it be in PD's best interest to come out and say something (that's assuming they're in-touch enough to even know this is going around)?
It seems that being quiet on this would be the best way to distract attention, if it is true. But then again, if it's coming out this year, shouldn't we well know by now? Most big games for the end of the year are already announced. This idea of it being a PS3 release this year just doesn't seem to fit into any scheme.
Saidur_AliMy bad .
Probably my first time I used the wrong word for 'their' in a while, always seems to happen when you try and correct someone quickly .I was just having a laugh because of my awkward use of 'unaccidental'

I was surprised that I was the first person to make reference to it considering I posted about it a day later after it was published. That interview was posted on the 22nd

That's five whole days ago.
If there was going to be a retraction it would have happened by now surely.
Man, why on earth would they NOT release it on PS3 soon, and PS4 later?
On PS3, it will be a big update (GT5Spec3): basically new cars and trackes. No new features at all. Easy to do as we all know they already work on cars/tracks for years.
That would bring them at least 50 millions $ guys... just for some cars and tracks.
It's all that people seem to ask for though -that and a few other things...not everyone just wants more cars and tracks.
How would DLC of a few cars and tracks bring them $50,000,000? not everyone who owns GT5 buys all the DLC. Im not against a Spec-III but they will never make that much money off of it especially if you say there will be no added features, not everyone just wants more cars and tracks.
50 millions $ is a low estimation. I am talking about a big DLC they could sell 20 bucks minimum. Don't you think they could sell 3 millions of these?
cassiusclay9950 millions $ is a low estimation. I am talking about a big DLC they could sell 20 bucks minimum. Don't you think they could sell 3 millions of these? We would already be at 60 millions.
And let's not forget the new "GT5 completely total exhaustive edition" that would be released and help sell even more GT5...
So 20$ at least, 3 millions at least (we are talking about GT man!)... absolutely feasible.
Most people would be happy with more cars and tracks. And they would not expect more from a DLC anyway. Only content. No features.
It is to a business, and that's exactly what both PD and Sony are (the same one effectively as well).Money isn't everything.

A matter of opinion and taste. A game that you'd still be playing after more than two years? I think that's unlikely for that price.No. For 20 dollars I can buy a used game that is way better than GT5...
Which makes them a business.I understand that they need income to operate.
You need to re-assess what you think a business is, because both Sony and PD are one and they most certainly are in it to make money. They have shareholders to answer to, fail to do that and you have no more GT.But business just make cheap looking products just to make a quick profit. Just like fast food, they make cheap processed burgers and chicken nugets from a chicken that has been given steroids and hormones enhancers. And cows that been fed corn.
Simply because they currently make money. Do you honestly think they would be afforded the same luxury if they didn't make money for Sony? But since PD has been given long enough time for GT6. Hopefully they don't screw up.
Doesn't polyphony digital sponsor cars other than doing video games so that means their income is not only by GT. I am just guessing since I saw the signs on cars in the Nurb 24H have the Gran Turismo symbol plus doesn't kaz yamauchi race also and go to live events at times.Which makes them a business.

Wait a minute. Do you think they earn money by sponsoring a car, an event or whatever? It's the other way around. Whoever the sponsor is pays to have the company's name/logo on the car, around the track etc etc. In return the company get's commercial which may help them sell more of their product(s).Doesn't polyphony digital sponsor cars other than doing video games so that means their income is not only by GT. That's the reason why they're keeping things tightly lid. They're not going to say "soon"; Kaz will be revealing the exact date that any future PD game will be released. What makes you think they'll say "soon" when Kaz already made it known that he won't (and hasn't) been doing what he did for us with GT5 during its development. It probably would be in their best interest to give us some sort of info, absolutely. But PD are hardly the PR-wizards that other companies in the industry are, so this is about par for the course, really. If they do touch on the topic in some upcoming interview, it'll probably deal in shadowy, vague terms, like the company-favourite "soon"
And here on the internet all around the world, people are assuming it's for the money and because it's his hobby:tup:.Sponsorship for racing doesn't work that way around. PD/Sony will be the ones paying for the GT logo on the cars (it is after all advertising), you are also seriously over estimating how much Kaz will earn from his racing, etc. Certainly nothing close to the amount required to fund development of the GT series (I wouldn't be at all surprised if his involvement in racing is an expense rather than a form of income).
Linus27Well, I'm going to go as far as saying that I don't think the PS4 will be out this year. I think it will be delayed, at least for Europe and the US. Japan might get it though. So personally I don't think the PS4 version of Gran Turismo will be out this year or in a good few years. So if there is going to be a GT6 then I think it will be on the PS3 and will be a bigger and better version of GT5.
