Oh I didn't realize that, does that actually work through the loadcell or is it separate rumble unit attached to the pedal? Are there any effects when driving without ABS?
No, load cell is load cell, the brake actuator (rumble motor) is separate hardware attached to the pedal. Depending the way you adjust point of pressure - adjustable via ABS setting via on-wheel setting - when you want to "feel" the vibration (i have it on 55% for instance for GT5), the pedal will begin to vibrate when that point has been reached. By pressing it further, the vibration will tension.
I did testings related to my driving (braking) style and found out the 55% best suites my personal brake balance settings in GT5 and way I personally adjust balance for cars. You can read more about my preferences for non-ABS driving in the link below.
Do you reccommend CSPV2? I'm looking to upgrade my g25 pedals and I'm seriously considering them! I've also got the CSR ELITE!
2. All those in favour (a few comments back) of the other game, what wheel do u use to play it? I got xbox360 + f4 and CSRE and it sux at it! I get sudden ffb kicks and loss which renders it unplayable
! Moreover i believe it doesnt work properly 900 degrees in f4!
Wheel works perfectly with all pc sims (lfs,rf1,2, NetKp, AC etc and GT5!
3. About the use of ABS! I dunno what's worse: not having any feel of when wheels lock or have ABS1 which makes you OP at braking without realistically functioning as ABS.. It's like ABS off but with no lock ups..
Amar, will the CSPV2 pedals solve this issue of no feel when AbS 0?
Well, I have some advices and answers for you.
First, yes, I absolutely recommend you CSPV2. Especially if you have CSRE wheel. I also own CSRE and both CSP and CSPV2 and CSPV2 are the best pedals in the world in the normal price range. You can read my
detailed review about them here if you are interested.
Second, CSRE is greatest wheel for Forza (and also one of the best for Gran Turismo on PS3), especially for Forza 4, but in order to use it properly, you have to know few things. I know they are not common knowledge and I know Turn10 should inform the users better, but here it is, for the last few plays you will have
:
a) in order to get maximum FFB you have to turn on Xbox360 console manually first (via power button on console) and turn the wheel ON after the console has actually booted.
b) in order to get proper 900-degree, you have to have profile (S_1, S_2.. whichever you are using on your CSRE for the Xbox) with 900 under the SEN and when you manually boot the console first, it is highly advised that you have proper S_x (1,2..) profile with SEN_900 as the profile on wheel under which you will turn the wheel and press Xbox360 connect button.
Third, in order to drive without ABS in Gran Turismo 5, you have to "calibrate" the pedals first. It is like that for all GT5 supported wheels, Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec. It is highly advised not to touch brake pedal before you actually get to the track with the car for the first time during particular play. Once you get on track (I usually start GT5, and head to Practice with whatever car I am currently using, car does not matter), you should enter the race and once the race starts, you should fully PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL and then release it. After that, you should quit that race. By doing that, brake pedal is calibrated and you will have proper travel for non-ABS drive.
Of course, for better understanding of driving without ABS in GT5, I will recommend you reading
this overview I did dome time ago.
Best luck if you decide to go CSPV2, once you actually buy them and try them, they will become the favorite part of your driving equipment 👍
