Gran Turismo 7 and GT Sport User Interface Fan Art

It's been a while, so let's have a startup screen.

Erm, no offence but it's a black screen with a logo and two bits of text.
I think title screens would fit in as user interfaces. But that's just me. Oh well. I'll upload more complex stuff next time.

Anyway, I just put something simple up to see if I can get this thread moving again.

Sorry I didn't mean to come off harshly, I mean that is what title screens generally look like, it's just not particularly interesting stuff to critique. But yeah, thread has been dying off so a bump to get it going is a good idea. 👍

I'll try to be as constructive as possible.

- The aspect ratio of your image is 4:3. You need to design to the modern 16:9 ratio, including a 4:3 safe area if you must.
- The text isn't very legible against the background image. The white blends in at points and 'for victory' almost entirely blends into the dark part of the background.
- As noted above, you've just re-used the GT5 cards, and stretched them. Try to come up with your own ideas.
- There is no text along with the pictures, so I'd have to click or maybe hover each one to really see what it is. This isn't good User experience.
- In general a full, bright background with full, bright tiles doesn't really work very well. Try to add some contrast between then two.

[EDIT 2: Changed image hoster from imgur to Tinypic, and it seems to work fine now (imgur images would break).]

So unsurprisingly, I came up with a completely different idea for the menu.
What do you mean "I'm inconsistent"?
Anyway...

Here's the splash screen that would appear when you first booted the game.

Here's the main menu.

And here's a basic idea on how the submenu selection would work (notice how the pointer moved from CAREER to DEALERSHIPS). Once again, some inspiration was drawn from GRID Autosport.

BONUS: A very early design that would eventually become what you see above.

Thoughts?:cheers:

Also, merry Christmas everybody!:)

Merry Christmas.

As for my thoughts? I love it! How long did this take you to make?

Was in a good mood today, so I made the Career Hub.
Later I realized I forgot to include Arcade Mode... oh well.

Anyway, I'm still quite happy on how this turned out.

Again, some inspiration was drawn from GRID Autosport (damn that game has some nice menus!).

I decided to have a go-

May I give my feedback?
1 - There is no longer a start button on the PS4 (instead, the best replacement would be the "Options" button);
2 - I would suggest that you use a font other than Calibri unless you really like it, since it sadly makes the whole thing look a little too cheap, if that makes any sense;
3 - The boxes are misplaced (which triggers my OCD) - if you need help, Scuderia Paul posted tips earlier on this thread on how to organize and align your layout;

Other than it's not too bad. :)

Either you have extremely severe and specific OCD regarding box placement or you're actually trying to say "(which doesn't look very nice to me)".

You're right about the font though. Fine for demonstrating a layout, but perhaps a bit cheap looking for a premium product.

Overall though, I'd say the GT4 style of dealership design isn't desirable. It's nowhere near streamlined enough. Not to say a perfectly streamlined interface is always the most desirable either, sometimes slowing the player down can actually make them stop and think about what they're doing, but there's so much to be said for GT6's menu layouts, for all that game's other flaws.

Little quick concept of in-race HUD :)

"HKS" brand in the boost gauge means that we can choose different brands of different parts, like in GT4 with the different shops. Same story with "NOS" logo :D

I'd increase the size of the speedo. There's a lot of space inside the tach going unused and you may as well use some of it for a more legible speedo.

I'd also remove the box around the track map and the track name beneath it. It's distracting and doesn't serve a great deal of purpose.

The current lap and last lap timers would probably look nicer if they were in the same white colour as the main timer.

The buying parts from different tuner brands thing, while interesting, would probably ultimately just make the experience more complicated and intimidating to new comers than necessary. It'd appeal to a niche of hardcore players but add little else. People are easily put off by too much choice.

Otherwise it's a nice clean design. As has been said before not necessarily formal looking enough for Gran Turismo, but one which could serve a racing game well.
