Gran Turismo 7 and GT Sport User Interface Fan Art

Wow! These are fantastic! Keep what you're doing now, because this looks great! :)đź‘Ť

@HACHIR0KU

Great style and menu's đź‘Ť

Thank you guys very much!

And the hostile community towards my crappy screen is all I'm getting. Woo. Thanks for that, guys

EDIT: Your work isn't very good, thus it won't receive praise. Plain and simple, and I'm very sorry that I have to be so brutally honest here.:indiff:

That being said, happy birthday. đź‘Ť

Here's my first shot at this. Don't laugh at me too hard :scared:.

I'll leave this thread, since my work is crap and nobody wants me around anyway.
It's been fun (mostly)

If you like creating your menus go for it, you can only get better at it. đź‘Ť Nobody said they don't want you here as WeThePeople said.

Now that my PS3 has had it I may try make my 2nd menu but it's hard to match the quality here!

We all know it's soul crushing to receive criticism, because Lord knows it is, but it's really up to you what you do with it. You can either leave it, as you plan to, or use it in order to improve how you approach this hobby.

This thread has immensely high standards, and rightly so because it has immensely high quality work, so just expecting to be showered with praise makes it seem as if you only use this as a way to boost your ego rather than use it for fun. I'm not saying if it's true or not, because that'll be determined by how you react to the critics, but nobody is in any way being hostile and we welcome everyone here, but everyone (this part isn't just aimed at you) shouldn't just expect to get a gold star for every piece of work posted here and throw a hissy fit when they don't.

Something I have been working on:

Not 100% perfect but I think the point comes across well.

Nice concept, my feedback:

- In general I would utilise whitespace a lot more. Not a lot of breathing room in a lot of your elements.
- The text under each heading doesn't have the best legibility. I mean I can read it, but barely, especially against the icons at the right side.
- On the options menu I like the general layout but the blue, gold and black don't match IMO. Try https://color.adobe.com/ to find a nice complimentary palette.
- In general I would avoid PD's old mouse pointer movement. It makes no sense for a UI that isn't navigated by a pointing device.
- Also try to avoid the hamburger icon. http://deep.design/the-hamburger-menu/

So! After I've successfully spent almost three hours on fixing computer problems, I finally started making some UI design for GT Sport. I'm currently unsure if I can somehow convert Illustrator files so I can post them here, but I have some somewhat decent photos.

I know, it's very basic. But I still need to fix my (obviously) cracked version of Illustrator because it's not working 100% properly.

Acknowledged.

Yeah I was trying to find a color scheme that works well but this black, blue, and gold combo is a no go. Thanks for the site.

I don't know if it's just me admiring GT's quirks but I think it should stay. It probably isn't the most efficient way but it's a thing that's been in nearly all the previous games.

Funnily enough I actually read that article a few months ago and I also agree with it. But using the hamburger icon in my design is utilized like how it is used currently:

Clicking on the hamburger in my UI reveals the color picker so basically something like this:

Sure, the icon itself probably is deceiving since the hamburger is usually used to show a list of selectable text, but it's there to let people know that is clickable. Maybe a different icon would help though.

Thanks for the tips, Simon Samus

Yeah true in this context the hamburger is not as confusing as is being described in it's usual web usage but sure, no harm in trying other icons in it's place. Obviously in that context the textual replacement wouldn't work, it needs to be an icon of some kind.

Since you took those pictures with a physical camera (or phone), it made the UI actually look real.

Don't shoot me. It's a WIP. Working on a video. GTS booting up..
Making it from the very first screen. So. Keep or ditch the Early Access?

Edit: What font (free) is the closest to the PS4 UI font, and the credits in the intro of the GT games? Haha

The PS4's UI font would be Humanist 777 Light.
GT's credit screen uses some variation of the Helvetica font, but sadly I'm unsure which one it may be (seems to be in-between the standard Helvetica and Helvetica Neue).

Hope I could help! :)

EDIT: Nice layout, by the way.

I already planned the main menu UI layout in my head but i don't know how to actually make it because it looks like i made it using Paint even thought i'm making it with Gimp...

Any Tips?

Yeah figured that much but the Humanist font isn't free :(
Guess I'll be sticking with Helvetica Neue with all the text I do for now, I love that font. Haha. Thank you though! :D
