Gran Turismo 7 and GT Sport User Interface Fan Art

That's actually something I've sorted wanted to try aswell, but I have no clue on how to edit in a speedometer. If I tried that now, it would look stupid.

It's fantastic to see more people contributing. It also helped to have GT Sport unveiled which may have reignited the idea of a UI piece they may have not followed up on.

Doing this can be very time consuming so have a decent number of participants is particularly impressive.

Keep them coming guys.

I have a few ideas myself I have been mind planning over Christmas as I said I wasn't going to actually work on them. Looking forward to seeing them come together.

It's crazy how this thread has taken off and I'm glad to see all the artists involved getting the recognition they deserve. And with GT Sport being potentially a very different type of entry for the series, there's more room for creativity as well.

I have an Idea for a HUD, what if for the HUD it used the actual gauges of the car, similar to TDU and TDU2?View attachment 500235 View attachment 500236

Rage Racer is a great of example of what you are proposing, notice in the second image how the gauge glows in the dark.

Different car, different gauge:

The only problem I see here is that with 1000+ I really don't see this happening. Also Ridge Racer Type 4 might be super arcadey and maybe many people never heard of it, but artistically speaking I think the UI has the best design I have ever seen on a racing game, I recommend checking some videos of it in motion and keep in mind the game dates back to 99, look how innovative the design was, like how the options menu background "dances" to the beat of the music.

Hey I just saw this thread and I'm a huge GT fan and I want really bad for the next instalment that the userface should be Flat and clean, just like this picture that I made....can't wait for the release...the Bugatti showed in this picture is on a HomeSpace that you can change in the settings menu.....

Hey @Daniel V and welcome to GTP! Great work there, as you said, flat and clean. Can't argue with that, I agree a clean and not overdriven UI should be what we get. Cheers!

Why is drawing easier than making a custom UI? Haha.. That's just my opinion. Working on this AE86 and even though it takes forever it still feels easier than UI work. :P Maybe it's just me being inpatient. Idk.

Did you use the image on my profile picture (the actual full-size image of course) as a base? haha

Beautiful work, by the way.

EDIT: Never mind, changed my profile picture lol

Indeed I did. :) Drew a Trueno a while ago, and when I saw your profile pic I thought "why not draw a Levin as well"

Thank you, thank you :) I think I'll be done with it today. Four days of work finally soon done. :P

I'm slowly getting back into my event card steez, slowly.

This one involved me doing everything from scratch. Including the painstaking lineart which took looooooooooong... Though I do like the way it has come out.

The event description speaks for itself. Hinting the return of the "Tuning Cars" tuning brands feature from GT4 with their own original turbo/suspension systems option, though this time I'm thinking Original parts for more components.

I have a few other ideas in mind. I'll get around to them soon. Hopefully they won't involve anymore painstaking lineart :P

@TayeezSA You did everything from scratch? You did all the line-art on the GT86 and all the parts?

You lunatic, that is incredible work and one of the coolest things anybody has contributed. Amazing.

Why thank you, I get the lunatic bit a lot

I had to use some real pics for reference though hence my attempt to have attention to detail. The GT86 I took a pic in GT6 and worked off of that.
That's all with Photoshop's pen tool and a mouse :D , I should actually think about getting a trackpad.

Fair play, that is amazing stuff. I am replacing my system soon and was thinking of getting a track-pad too. It would make many PS operations easier and far quicker.

Awesome, really awesome. I never understood the pen tool to do line art, I always use a thin brush, please teach me the proper way, Sir  I do line art all the time and it never comes out this nice. Haha

There's plenty of tutorials around on Youtube to start learning how to use the pentool. It's a bit weird at first but then once you get the hang of it, you can create great things with it and you get quicker as you use it.

The turbo in the 'Blueprint Tuner' post took me about an hour to draw using different brush sizes and using the marquee tools too.

The trick I've seen to having cleaner lineart like that for technical objects is that with the brush tool, it's best to use the standard round brush with 100% hardness. Also, when you do curves with the pen tool, try to have as little anchor points as possible so your curve doesn't look off or blocky.

The only time I'd use stroke brushes is when I would be drawing objects of nature, like trees etc.

The pen tool really, you can learn how to use it but it's something that gets better the more you use it.

That's all the tips I can pretty much offer in regards to that .

Many many thanks. I'll recheck youtube for some easy ones haha.

I always use the standard round brush with 100% hardness but as you say with the pen tool, I always get blocky curves at some degree because I always use the brush, shift-clicking my way around. Haha.

Great help here, again, many thanks! I'll reteach myself the pen tool, and hope I get the hang of it too. :D

As you see here, I used brush only and it is blocky some places. Haha.

Hmmmm, how are you curving with your anchor points?

My UI for 7, not Sport.
I couldn't find a black and white GT 7 logo.

Some of your text is very hard to read. You should reduce the saturation of your background and put the text in a semi-transparent panel at the least. Also, try to keep image aspect ratios so they do not look distorted like the Aston Martin DP100 VGT image.

I used a brush 100% of the time there, no pen tool at all. Haven't tried out the pen tool yet, but I suppose click and drag?

Kinda like that, the tuts can show you nicely how to do curves and all.

If there's still any issues, feel free to PM me.
